If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

I kept it short and sweet.
"I'm tellin' ya Finn. Them tin cans are gonna be droppin' on our heads any minute," Rabbit spoke softly while looking through the firing port in front of him. The view was open land and his squad was defending a portion of the prefabricated defensive strong points used as a staging area for the Republic. The ground to the front was relatively flat with slow, low undulating hills. A small copse of trees presented a slight obstacle about eight hundred meters to his one thirty. The other trooper in the defensive fighting position with him was the Z-6 Rotary Gunner, Trooper Finn. The pig was currently mounted on a tripod to provide some stability when firing. It enhanced accuracy and was very deadly as it swept the flat open ground in front of them. Although Rabbit respected the lethality of the big gun, he hated being near it because it always tended to draw all the enemy fire. The droids tended to focus on the high casualty producing weapons first. It was one of their primary flaws.

"Don't sweat it, Rabbit," Finn uttered. "Those digital soldiers won't stand a chance against Rosita here." Finn smiled as he patted the back of his Rotary Cannon. He had taken to calling the high velocity weapon Rosita shortly after he was assigned the weapon three months ago.

"Yea, that's what I was afraid of," Rabbit's grim tone didn 't share the enthusiasm of his squad mate. "You recall what happened to CT 7944, don't you?"

"Yea, well he asked for that, if you ask me!"

"No one asks to die, not even a clone, Finn."

Finn and Rabbit stopped speaking. They really didn't want to think about CT 7944. He was the last trooper to carry the Rotary Cannon. He had taken out over a hundred droids with his pig, but then every support gun in the area unleashed their fire upon CT 7944 and his Z6 Rotary Cannon. When assigned the job of carrying the squad's big gun, a trooper also strapped on a customary bullseye.
I have one other RP to respond to today. Then I will put up something for 2nd Squad, 3rd platoon Rage Company.
Believe it or not, I am happy for you. Like you, my family is more important than hobbies. I enjoy the process. In this hobby, RPs are rarely ever finished. I am rarely the one who quits an RP, but more often than not they never finish. I believe in the past 10 years I've seen one, maybe two finish. It is the nature of the beast. Take care of your family. bro! ;)
Should we assume that if we made troopers in the same company they'll be the same squad?

that's entirely up to you, Lonewolf. I will point out that I already assigned my character to a squad. I also have a Company Organization down to squad level. I will share it with you in a PM, if you care to see it. I also intend to fill in slots with NPCs as I write and I may even kill off a few of those when things get going.
Unit Assigned: 2nd Squad, 3rd Platoon, Rage Company, 117th Attack Battalion
I read the IC post. It appears the 286th Legion is in a Defensive posture on planet, Boz Pity waiting for the Droid Army to attack. The Droid fleet that just left hyper space is about to begin launching a droid force upon the surface in order to provide our characters with targets. Are these statements correct?

Agreed this is a great opportunity for an Air to Air engagement as others have alluded to, but eventually the air battle and the ground battle will happen simultaneously. I will definitely have somethingd up tonight. I'll be at the kid's Karate graduation until about 9PM EST, but after that time, I should be able to make an introduction before all hell breaks loose.
I placed CT-8350, "Rabbit" in the Character repository. He will pick up his carbine and join the fight (RP) later this evening when I have time to write. If not, it will be tomorrow evening.
Clone Number: CT-8350
Army Rank: Trooper
Nickname: Rabbit
Personality/Bio: "Captain Rigger is a top notch commander. He appears squared away and hasn't gotten us into too much of the bad stuff yet. He does seem to be in all the right places at the right time. I have to admire the old man for his tenacity.

We was in a fire fight one time. Mortar rounds and laser blasts were going off all around us. We had a low stone wall for cover. Three troopers in my squad had just taken hits and gone down. The medic was attempting to patch one of them up, when I noticed out of the corner of my eye, someone stepped up and was firing his carbine alongside me. I had to stop shooting just to see who it was. I was quite surprised to recognize Captain Rigger. He was right there in the thick of it, exposing himself to the same hazards as the rest of us troopers.

The Lieutenant, on the other hand, I'm not all that sure of. He seems to prefer to lead from the rear. I accidentally walked in on the old man chewing his ass out for something this one time. I don't know if the LT is going to be around us much longer. The Platoon daddy Sergeant Major Mack on the other hand is the real deal. He is always smoking these fat ass cigars and yelling at troopers. But when the Sergeant Major yells, it is usually for a good reason. He's another one I look up to.

Our Squad Leader, Sergeant Brick appears nervous, but otherwise does a fine job. I believe he just needs more experience. He is still new to the position. He knows what he is doing, but I've seen him focused on the enemy down range during a fire fight rather than looking at the squad. He's responsible for us! Sure his rifle needs to be engaging targets, but he needs to be situationally aware as well. I may not be an NCO yet, but this much I know.

The Corporal is a good trooper. He is pretty easy going; good for a few laughs. He goes by the name, Lance. During a fire fight, I caught him nipping at a small bottle under his body armor. Not sure what it was, but he seems to do his job fine.

The rest of the boys in 2nd Squad are clone troopers, fresh off Kamino, like me. We've been together as a unit for over a year now. We all get along pretty well and I am confident everyone has my back. I know I have their's."
