If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

You work the tech stuff and I'll work the military angle hopefully getting the tech right. :)
We can use the OOC here to discuss what we are doing. I figure the crime has been committed. Our detectives stumble in on the mess and call it in. The CSIs and forensic people come in and start doing their work. Our dets try to figure out what happened and then get plainclothes to canvas the neighbors looking for witnesses. They have very little leads as out siblings go on a crime spree. Eventually, they catch up to them. Maybe out guys make a few other busts before they catch up to the Meaghan children?
Gabriel

Gabriel had gotten into a routine with his big sister after coming home. She worked at the club and Gabe protected her. He considered looking for a job, but his big sister was taking care of him so far and he was pretty cool with that. It was a good deal.

Gabe was unsure if his sister could do what needed to be done here. He actually kind of hoped he could do the deed, but he would follow his sister’s lead. As they climbed out of the white 2007 Hyundai, Allison shot him one line out of the side of her mouth without looking at him, "Remember, just stick to the plan and we'll be fine."

“No problem, Alli. You’re the boss,” Gabriel responded as he followed her up the front walk to the house. He looked around the neighborhood. The house was a brick and stone Victorian like many of the older houses in Emerson Gardens, one of Boston’s wealthy Brookline neighborhoods. A house like this would sell for about three hundred thousand out in the western part of the state, but here in the city, it sold for north of a million, easy. The houses were all so close together too, unlike what you find in the country or even the suburbs. “This chick’s got to be loaded living in a house like this. We should find something here.”

Standing on the walkway at the bottom of the steps, he watched his sister ring the doorbell. She glanced at Gabriel. He gave her a quick curt smile. They heard a voice from inside call out, "Coming."

Allison played the role of the Pizza delivery person as if that was her job. She was confident and had that lilt to her voice making her sound like she was no threat to the woman. "Hi there. Sorry for the delay, we're short on drivers. But at least we have another in training." Allison’s arm and head gestured toward Gabriel.

Gabriel raised an arm in mock salute with a slight smile.

Obviously, the woman had not ordered a pizza and wanted to tell the siblings they must have come to the wrong house. She called Allison dear; a term that pissed Gabe off. He wanted to pop her cherry right then, but he promised his sister, he would let her make the call. No joy this go around. The woman actually looked mildly attractive to Gabriel. He preferred his women younger and would seek out a younger woman for a future gig. But Allison set this one up and he would back her. Maybe Gabe could pick the next one. Knowing Allison, he knew she would consider the woman to be on the ugly side, but in fact Gabe knew she would definitely do in a pinch.

Allison feigned confusion about her alleged faux-pas. But before she could back out and leave, she produced a 9mm subcompact; one of those polymer constructions pieces intended to defeat metal detectors. She shoved the pistol into the woman’s face and forced her back into the house. Allison’s tone was serious. Gabriel quickly followed her inside.

"If you scream, you die. Is there anyone in the house?" The woman was terrified. It really excited Gabriel to see her this way. He really wanted to have her, just to see the doe eyes filled with tears as he had his way with her. But he would let Alli run the show tonight.

Gabriel closed and locked the door as they entered. Gabriel approached Allison just as she thrust her pistol into his chest. He took the handgun, pulled slightly on the slide to see the one brass cartridge visible in the chamber, then let it slip back inside. He removed the magazine and noticed there were nine rounds inside. He couldn’t not take the weapon and know what it could do. He had ten rounds if he needed them.

Gabriel was surprised by his sister’s next move. She covered the woman’s mouth, who Gabriel and just come to learn was Meredith. He saw a pile of mail all addressed to someone named Meredith Feinberg. Before Gabriel could tell her sister the woman’s name, she pulled out a switchblade, opened it and stuck it in the woman’s side. Poor Meredith wasn’t looking so well after that. Real hard to act sober after your liver has been lacerated. She swayed slightly. Maybe she passed out? Taking one knife wound shouldn’t kill a person, unless she was left to bleed out. He watched her fall to the floor and the dark red liquid slowly seeped onto the hardwood floor making a gradually growing puddle.

Allison looked at her brother, "Easier than expected. Let's see what goodies she has."

Gabriel looked longingly at the woman for several moments. He really wanted her, but not like this. He wanted the sexual gratification before the death, not after. He decided the moment was gone and began searching the house with his sister.

After a thorough search, Gabriel produced eight hundred dollars in cash; all Benjamins stuffed in her bra and underwear drawer. She also had a fine collection of gold necklaces and rings. Her credit cards might last for a few days before the companies call about fraud.

“Not a bad haul, sis,” Gabriel said after telling her what he found. He looked back at Meredith; her pool of blood ever widening before they headed out into the night.

The next morning…

Detective James Graham

Roll call had been the usual. The shift supervisor told them daily to leave the businesses in the Combat Zone alone. Whatever they did was the mayor’s problem, not ours. Apparently, the mayor told the chief to leave them alone.

Jimmy Graham drove the black 2014 Dodge Charger with dark tinted glass away from the police precinct at 101 West Broadway and headed up toward Brookline. He had no place to go but felt like heading in that direction. He was hoping to stop at one of his favorite Italian bakeries. His mom was a hundred percent Italian. He was raised on Cannolis and biscottis. He and his partner, Jenna Michaelson had been working together for the past two years. They got along fairly well, and Jimmy knew he could trust her. That gave him a comforting feeling.

“Adelaide gave us a scare last night,” Jimmy told his partner. “She stopped breathing. Diane screamed at her and shook her. My poor wife was in tears. I gave her the Heimlich and that was all it took to get her back. We called for an ambulance. The EMTs checked her over and said she was fine. Diane took her to the doctor’s this morning after dropping Leo off at school. I saw Addy before I left the house this morning. I sure hope she is OK.” Jimmy was frightened talking about his 5-year old daughter.

The girl suffered from Cerebral Palsy and was confined to a wheel chair. The doctor cautioned that her intellectual capacity may never advance from where it is right now. She may act like a five-year-old for the rest of her life. She could not walk, and her head and arms made constant erratic movements. To her daddy, she had the most beautiful smile and would talk his head off if he let her.

The radio crackled to life, “Any units in the Brookline area, please check on the welfare of a Miss Meredith Feinberg, 41 Waverly.”

Jimmy picked up the handset, “Fox 6 is in the area. We’ll check it out.” Jimmy made a left on Thayer and headed for the address. “Probably some old lady that has not been outside in over a week. The neighbors get worried and call the cops.”

I edited my post. I was being rushed out the door by the children, but wanted to post what I had. If you already read it, I changed it slightly; grammar and wording. I also added the NPCs in the Characters tab.

Lol...Ignoring unnecessary drama is a gift.
Brian Park was not surprised when they were informed, they were heading to a distant planet. He was curious of the name, Saina and knowing this bit of information actually pleased him. He really did not want to go to Africa. He’d already been there. It wasn’t a pleasant experience. Although he didn’t expect a trip to some distant world to be exactly pleasant, it had to be a hundred times better than Africa.

Park was given a squad in Team Bravo, 3rd Battalion, 1st Infantry, (Task Force Cox). The Battalion Task Force was named for its commander, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Frances Cox, a Welsh officer who served as a Platoon Commander and Company Executive Officer in 3 Paras. He commanded an armoured infantry troop in 1 Royal Welsh Infantry and later served as the battalion’s quartermaster. After receiving special air service training, Alexander Cox served as Operations Officer in 22 SAS and later as its Executive Officer once promoted to Major. Alex Cox’ final unit of assignment was as the Division Operations Officer for the Scottish, Welsh and Irish Division which coincided with his promotion to Lieutenant Colonel.

Park inventoried his squad. He found their organization to be loose and informal, which suited his special operations mindset well. Most of his soldiers had served in an elite formation which helped with cohesion and professionalism of the squad. Dieter Vogel served in the German Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK), leaving at the rank of Feldwebel. Vogel served as Park’s number two. Vogel stood 6’1” with very short dark hair and steel gray eyes. He was a very serious soldier. Jeremiah Edwards served as Sergeant in the US Marine Special Operations in one of the Raider Battalions. Jeremiah came from Southern California and was more laid back and relaxed than your typical jarhead; currently serving as machine gunner for the squad. Jake Robson was an SAS trooper from Northeast England; Tyne and Wear. Robson may have served with the Battalion Commander, LTC Cox who saw action in some of the same units. Undoubtedly, when Cox was a Major in Operations for 22 SAS, it was at the same time Robson was with the teams. Preston Simmons was a US Marine Scout Sniper who served with the SAS sniper as riflemen. Their marksmanship skills were unparalleled, probably even to Sergeant Park’s who was an accomplished sniper as well. Diego Velez served with the 1st Ranger Battalion before leaving and finding work with a Private Military Corporation. Frans Madsen served with the Royal Danish Jaeger Corps. His experiences were quite similar to the British SAS or US Navy SEALs. Velez and Madsen served as the squad’s grenadiers. Robert Browne, hails from Providence, RI and served with the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. The ninth and final member of the squad was a Canadian named Guy Fournier from the Montreal suburb of Boucherville. Corporal Fournier served with JTF2 and the Canadian Special Operations Regiment (CSOR) as a Combat Medic. He served a dual role in the squad as medic and as anti-armor specialist.

With the onset of alien invaders coming down on the squad and the entire motorized infantry brigade of humans currently defending the Grathik owned Talra station, Park’s squad was assigned an overwatch mission. They traded in their light machine guns for heavy .50 caliber machine guns. Fournier, Velez and Madsen would assist Edwards and Browne in keeping their oversized “pigs” fed. When they weren’t using their own weapons to try to shoot down the drones buzzing in their battalion’s Area of Operations (AO), they were assisting the machine gunners by providing them with ammunition and loading the guns when necessary. The large German was given primary responsibility for the two machine guns and their crews. Sergeant Park covered down with the snipers and communications with the Platoon Leader.

The squad was positioned on the roof of a multi-story building fortified with sandbags. Two M2 Browning Heavy barrel .50 caliber machine guns and assorted rifles oriented along a primary avenue of approach. Several hostile drones descended into the battalions AO, obviously intending to gather information on the friendly forces.

Lieutenant Colonel Alex Cox, Battalion Commander for Task Force Cox designated his B Company as the battalion’s main effort with three rifle platoons and one armor platoon. A Company provided flank security with two platoons. Third Platoon A Company was attached to D Company, 2nd Battalion, 10th Armor. Team Bravo, C Company and Team Delta each had an engineer platoon attached for breaching obstacles as necessary. A Company covered the right flank while C Company covered the left. Third platoon, C Company performed the role of Task Force Reserve. Park’s 2nd Platoon was taking lead with Park and his squad covering their movement. A squad from 1st platoon was performing a similar mission on an adjacent high speed avenue of approach. The entire battalion was spread out with three battalions abreast and two battalions following in support. They intended to establish contact with the enemy and eliminate their ability to gain information on who they were and what they were doing.

“We need to take out their eyes. We cannot let them learn anything about us. Let them know we are bunch of bad ass mother fuckers who should not be fucked with. If you see any enemy drones, exercise extreme prejudice. Turn the fuckers into piles of broken metal upon this station’s soil.” Sergeant Park was ready to throw down. He held up his HK416 carbine and peered through the scope. He found an unfamiliar looking drone and squeezed off a round. Then he picked up the handset to report to higher. He felt it was necessary to put the first round down range in order to lead by example that the squad should be engaging the drones in their forward sixty degree field of view.

“BUTTERFIELD, BUTTERFIELD, this is RIDDLER, over,” Brian park called over his radio.

Lieutenant Jacob Butterfield hadn’t chosen a very creative callsign, using his own surname. “RIDDLER, this is BUTTERFIELD, go ahead over!”

“BUTTERFIELD, this is RIDDLER, we have established contact with at least fifteen drones. They are approximately 500 meters from your point team. Request Alpha Delta Alpha assistance, if available, over.”

“Roger that, fifteen drones in our Alpha Oscar. Pushing Alpha Delta Alpha request up the net, out.”

The Lieutenant clicked off as the squad continued to engage drones. Brian pulled out his binoculars and scanned the sky over Task Force Cox’ AO. He counted eighteen drones on this last view, fearing there could be more. Dropping the binos, he picked up his rifle and re-engaged drones. “Come on Robson! Let’s see how many of these fuckers you can drop!”
Working on a post. I fleshed out the squad...
