If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio
I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.
I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.
When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.
There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.
I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.
Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]
Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.
Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

History
What Brings You To Role Player Guild: There is a large community of writers here. I enjoy the hobby even though I rarely get time to participate. Currently, I try to limit my stories to one at a time. Unfortunately, I rarely find one I enjoy and others are willing to write in. When I do, they die way too early. Life Before You Came To Role Player Guild: It was very different. I don’t know how to explain it in just a few words or sentences. Life Since You Came To Role Player Guild: This is just a side hobby. I have many irons in the fire and this is just one of them. It has taken a back seat to my real life activities.

Bio: Guy Sauvage was born in the Paris, France suburb of Evry. His father worked for the French Rail system in Paris. As a young man, Guy's father served in the French Army as a soldier in the 35th Infantry Regiment. Guy knew he did not want to work for the railroad and found military life to be exactly what he needed. He fit perfectly as a soldier in the French Army.
Guy enlisted at age 17 after completing secondary education. He attended Infantry school and served with the 1st Infantry Regiment, 1st Mechanized Brigade. After spending three years with a mech infantry unit, he attended parachute training and Special Air Service training. He discovered that he really enjoyed jumping out of aircraft. Para training was conducted at Pau, southern France.
Special Air Service training involved 12 weeks of "adaptation training" and "stage commando" which separates the men from the boys. This training is physically grueling and mentally challenging. The highest attrition rate comes from Adaption training at about 75%. Once Adaptation training was complete, Guy then advanced to "stage CTE RAPAS" for six months. This is the technical training involved with being a member of the 1st Paras (SAS).
After 40 weeks of training, Guy was promoted to Caporal-chef de première classe. He spent one year in the 1st Para (SAS) as a Corporal 1st Class before attending the Professional NCO School, École Nationale des Sous-Officiers d’Active (ENSOA or National Active Non-Commissioned Officers National School). The ENSOA trains young NCOs for both initial (squad leader) and higher-level (platoon leader) functions. The school lasts four months. Upon completion of ENSOA, Guy was promoted to Sergent at age 22.
Guy has spent the last 10 years as a member of the French SAS regiment known as 1st Parachutist Marine Infantry Regiment. During this time, he has attended Sniper School, Diving School and Pathfinder school. During the 10 years of his service in the unit, he has spent all of his time with 1st Company. As such he has performed of a Pathfinder and as a Sniper the most. He has participated in only a few clandestine operations involving underwater entry/extraction. Five years ago; Guy was promoted to Sergent-chef , his current rank.
Guy has performed several deployments to North Africa and the Middle East as well as Somalia and other areas on the Dark Continent.
Recently, Guy Sauvage was recruited by Rainbow to serve as a member on the international counter terrorist organization. He was thrilled at the opportunity and accepted the invitation.

This is a fascinating idea. I enjoy games that employ resource management. This hits on that in simplistic terms which could become more complicated if folks get into the production chain. Iron Ore Mining Company - Steel Foundry (Furnace) - Production facility of some yet to be named item. The people at the end of this simple chain could manufacture farming tools, weapons, cutlery, or whatever else you can think of. But at the heart of this concept is the economy. What about the banking industry? What currency will you use? How is money earned recorded, consumed and earned? what rates of earning for various products?
I always suspected I was a hufflepuff. Just took the Pottormore quiz and it confirmed said suspicions.
I am a Gryffindor. My eldest two children are Hufflepuffs and my wife is a Slytherin. I suspect one of my younger daughters is also a Slytherin like her mom and my youngest is a Gryffindor. She can be quite bold.
Just to clarify as I write my response, they've dismounted and are now about to engage the enemy?
A General Officer will never place himself in the line of fire; or at least not attack into the enemy while they are defending. Realistically, the Jump TOC should be observing the Main Effort. But stopping to ensure things are happening properly at the penetration point, is OK. This should be a temporary halt for the Jump TOC. The Brigade Commander is more interested in what the rest of 2nd Battalion is doing.
I should draw up some operational graphics to give you a visual of what is going on here. The Jump TOC, which has the Brigade Commander, who should be a Brigadier General has only three small wheeled vehicles. There may be GPMGs mounted on pintles, but they are used only if the officers in this group are threatened. Major Generals command divisions. A division would have two to five Brigades. I actually did some work on that. I will share it with you here.
The Number Eight Company which probably numbers about 148 on hand strength (246 Authorized Strength). They have also lost about six or seven of their tracked vehicles; which they don't need because they don't have the people to ride in them. This Company is conducting a Supporting Mission for the advance elements of the 116th Volksgrenadier Regiment. As the 116th attacks, the Centauri Chasseurs may try to escape and evade the Panchalan attackers by running to their rear. They know a Grenadier unit just blew through their position, but they will be frightened and panicky. The Number eight company is in the defense, waiting for the Chasseurs to come into their lines of fire and engage them; preventing them from escaping.
The Main Effort for the 25th Panchalan Grenadiers is more than a few kilometers to the east engaging Centaurian Armor and APCs along a second line of defense. This would be an armored reconnaissance battalion. The Régiment de Dragons would be a Dragoon Regiment. Dragoons are a type of cavalry. Historically, Dragoons operated as cavalry but served as dismounted infantry on occasions. The French regiment, I modeled the Centaurian armored reconnaissance squadron or battalion after is nothing more than an oversized battalion. I'm going to use a similar structure to organize the Volksgrenadier regiments. This would explain their small size. They are battalion sized, but referred to as Regiments.
This is what the Centaurian unit in the 2nd line of defense is based on. I took this from a French Army organization:
Escardon de reconnaissance et d'intervention - Armored recon squadron 1er Escardon blindée - 1st Armored squadron 2e Escardon blindée - 2nd Armored squadron 3e Escardon blindée - 3rd Armored squadron 1er Compagnie de infanterie - 1st Support infantry company 2e Compagnie de infanterie - 2nd Support infantry company Escadron de commandement et de logistique - Command and logistics squadron Compagnie d'appui mixte (génie et artillerie) - Mixed engineer and artillery company Escadron d'intervention de réserve - Reserve squadron
Since their units are just as understrength as the Panchalan units, they would be weakened as well. Probably authorized a few more tanks and APCs than I mention in my post.
This example of a Sector Division has a Divisional Commander who holds the rank of Generalmajor. All of his subordinate Brigade Commanders are naturally, Brigadiers. I've added Panzer battalions to each Brigade. Your 7th and 9th Panzer Battalions are being used for another operation at the moment. I will work on the Volksgrenadier Regiment, the Panzer battalion and am currently working on the Centaurian armored reconnaissance squadron.

“Ja Wohl, herr Brigadier!” The Fox had moved five hundred meters beyond the penetration regardless of what the General Officer said. Gefreiter Dalfin and Oberleutnant Theuderic looked at each other with a knowing look. They waited to hear it…it took no time at all, the 120mm projectiles impacted all along the area the 2nd Panchalan Grenadiers just passed. “Would be best not to get killed by our own mortars, Gefreiter,” Oberleutnant muttered to the driver.
The Number eight company was just ahead of the Jump TOC which contained three Fox vehicles. The number eight company consisted of only three platoons with three or four vehicles per platoon. The Company was not at a hundred percent strength. Two platoons pulled off to the right and dismounted their infantry. The first platoon pulled off to the left and dismounted. The company commander moved with the third and second platoons on the right while the Executive Officer dismounted and moved with the first platoon on the left. The company advanced through the buildings and debris in the direction of where they had just come from.
The company moved toward the sound of the mortars, fired by one of the 116th Volksgrenadier mortar platoons. At two hundred meters from the Chasseur lines they could see the mortar fire beginning to lift.
On the west side of the line, the 116th charged forward into their line firing from the hip as support by fire positions poured machine gun fire into the enemy positions. Unfortunately for the number 8 company and members of the Jump TOC who chose to join them, that fire was directed at them. Fortuantely, they were further beyond the enemy targets the 116th was shooting at. “Hopefully, those bastards don’t hit any of us,” Theuderic mumbled.”
“Agreed, mein herr,” Gefreiter Dalfin responded hearing the Oberleutnant’s words. The purpose of the number eight company was to shoot at any survivors attempting to flee east away from the attacking soldiers of the 116th Volksgrenadiers.
Meanwhile, the rest of the second battalion struck the enemy’s second line of defense which consisted of an armored cavalry squadron or Escardon blindée consisting of three main battle tanks and eight armored personnel carriers. The Anti-tank platoon for the Grenadier battalion would deploy into action to engage the enemy armored vehicles as well as the dismounted grenadiers employing shoulder fired Ant-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM).
“It is imperative the 116th break through their line. Otherwise, we are screwed, mein Herr!” Oberleutnant Theuderic spoke allowed to the Brigadier, knowing it did not need to be said. He had all the confidence in the Volksgrenadiers. He knew the Chasseurs were demoralized from the fighter bomber attack as well as the mortar fire and knowing their enemy was now in their rear. It was only a matter of time before they ran, right into the ambush laid out by Number Eight company, 2nd Battalion, 25th Royal Panchalan Grenadiers.

Quotes or Sayings: “Those who fail to learn the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them.” – Winston Churchill paraphrasing George Santayana. “If you’re going to fight, fight like the third monkey on the ramp to Noah’s ark and brother…It’s starting to rain.”
Theme Song: Warrior’s Call
Advice To The World: Forgive the actions of those who came before us. Behaviors we consider heinous crimes today were generally accepted practices many years ago.

<div style="white-space:pre-wrap;">I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division <span class="bb-i">"Yankee"</span> and 29th Infantry Division (Light), <span class="bb-i">"The Blue and the Gray"</span>. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.<br><br>I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.<br><br>When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.<br><br>There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.<br><br>I have real-world martial arts experience. <br><br>Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. :(]<br><br>Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.<br><br>Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.<br><br>--Gunther (AKA: Old School)<div class="hider-panel"><div class="hider-heading"><button type="button" class="btn btn-default btn-xs hider-button" data-name="Gunther">Gunther [+]</button></div><div class="hider-body" style="display: none"><span class="bb-b"><div class="bb-h2">Character Summary</div></span><br><br>Name: Gunther<br>Aliases: <font color="#1b1464"><span class="bb-i">Landain</span></font><br>Age: old (I was around when George Washington was a Lieutenant)<br>Birthday: August 12<br>Ethnicity: French, English, & Seneca (Iroquois Confederation)<br>Location: New England<br>Gender: Male<br>Higher Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science & Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice<br>Occupation: Substitute School Teacher<br>Languages: English, Spanish, German & a little French<br>Years RPing: 18<br>Preferred RP Section: Advanced or Casual <br>RP Level: Advanced<br>Dedication Level: Moderate<br>Biggest RP Pet Peeve: People who do not communicate with the group and drop.
