Current My Italian friend just asked me if it's true that all Americans are fat. I'm offended but I can't stop laughing.

I always respond to OOC tags within 10 minutes, but I respond to PMs within 10 days. I don't know why- I suppose it's just because PMs are so easy to brush aside and forget about

I don't have any finals, but everyone else having finals is slowing down my RPs. Second-hand busyness.

I know it's time to go to bed, because I just started wondering if maybe the whole universe is a single cell on some alien's ass

If a tree falls in the woods and Fox news isn't around to see it, is it still Obama's fault?

A nation with ships yes, but understandably one with a collective psyche perpetually at odds with much of the galaxy.

An 'individual' in my nation would be a massive microbial mat and everything that feeds on it, meaning it's entirely possible for a planet to describe its population as four even as it houses billions of critters. The critters themselves are distinct, but they are constantly under the influence of the mat mind and thus cannot be properly called individuals with free will.

Awesome!

So, if someone attacks the mat, will all the critters rush to the aid of their almighty Welcome Mat?

That would be a sight: an invading army being destroyed by a bunch of wild animals and a collection of microbes.
<Snipped quote by Sigma>

You got it a bit wrong ye.

Microbial mats can be enormous, as in covering a continent large. So the 'intelligent' species of my nation is as close to a conventional sapient as they are to geographic features.

As for the critters, they will be a species that feeds off the microbial mat (which is much like a giant brain) and by doing so the mat infiltrates their system and upon infecting the brain grants them some semblance of intelligence. It isn't mind control, and it isn't telepathic, but the symbiotic mat in the critter brain IS connected to the original mat in that both entities will share a similar personality with like minded goals. So while the critter and mat are distinct, if the critter stops eating the mat they become braindead, and if they continue to eat it the thoughts of the mat will continually influence their own.

That's really cool, and extraordinarily unique. I applaud your creativity

So, will this be a "nation", in that it will have ships, territory, weapons, trade and such? Or are you planning on something entirely different?

DAMNIT, WHY ARE YOU A BETTER WRITER THAN ME?

x'D I'm very glad to have you aboard.
The best slur against Kazzlehorf is any nickname in general. Kazzlehorf hates when animals gives Kazzlehorf names that aren't Kazzlehorf.

Just one more empire that is all conquer-y in nature with a different mindset from the X'cor is really all I want. A conqueror with more of a 'benevolent dictator' edge for instance. The sort of civ that believes "we have to make everyone citizens of our civilization, it is our burden". (Does this already exist?)

No, I don't think that exists, but I've got too much on my plate already to create one like that

Besides, if the Xim and humans ever do get into a war again, you can expect the Initiative to have that sort of attitude towards the Federation. "We liberate them from a flawed existence- from an imperfect design. We must conquer them to set them free."

Of course, the Xim are relatively peaceful, and normally would prefer not to conquer other nations, as they have never done it before, but if the war does start up again than that is probably how they'll act to justify it xD
(We probably need more conquering empires. To my knowledge there's only one so far.)

Why? Are you concerned that there won't be enough action?

Because it would be easy for me and @Sigma to get a Xim vs. Federation war going on again- a war in which everyone would start taking sides and leading to an intergalactic World War.

OR perhaps MONARCH has some kind of systems failure, leading to a drone accidentally firing on someone of another nation, raising tensions between the two groups and all their allies.

OR perhaps a group of rouge not-Kazzlehorfs stir up distrust between Kazzlehorf and other nations.

Few of our nations are conquerors, but many of them are paranoid, unfriendly and distrusting of eachother. It wouldn't be hard to turn that into tension, economic warfare, cold war, or just plain war. None of the nations in WW1 were evil, X'Cor-style villains, and yet it still happened.
No!

That is bad bad bad bad bad.

My species may actually start making functional societies that aren't doomed to perpetual stagnation (provided they don't get killed off in the war anyways), that can't be allowed to happen.

That's the thing: the Xim would consider this a mercy. They grant the Kazzle genetic diversity, thus throwing their society into chaos long enough for the Xim to conquer it, then allow the Kazzle to progress and develop naturally, instead of staying stagnate forever.
You will never be Kazzlehorf.

Deal with it.

If the Xim and Kazzle ever go to war, you can expect that the Xim will make use of bio-weapons purely designed to disrupt the cloning process by adding genetic diversity to all new clones. In essence, the clones that come out will no longer be Kazzlehorf. They will have new genetic diversity, so that they can fit into the same "species" as the rest of the Kazzlehorf, but won't be identical.

In the end, the Xim will attempt to make the Kazzle as diverse as everyone else.

I might not be Kazzlehorf, but if you make the Xim angry, than you wont be either!
@HaelReferencing our previous talk on my entry to this, would it be possible that I mesh both into one? As in that something happened to my empire and all that's left of it is a giant armada of ships a la Quarian style from Mass Effect?

Ah, yes, that's allowed. Aftrerall, Shorticus is doing the same thing: his species' home world was destroyed and he is playing the last remnants of a dying civilization.

So yes, it's acceptable.

The egomaniac who created Kazzlehorf at least died in a suitably ironic way. (There was literally no funerals or big memorial parades for Kazzlehorf since no one even noticed the "real" Kazzlehorf ever died to begin with)

Because they are all the real Kazzlehorf. He is no more Kazzlehorf than the other Kazzlehorf's are. Who came first would be irrelevant at that point- they are all Kazzlehorf, Kazzlehorf is them all.

My gosh... I'm starting to sound like one of those freaks
<Snipped quote by Arawak>

By my calculations, the probability of anyone other than yourselves ever understanding your kind is 12.6278%

By my calculations, it is .000001%, and only if that person is an egomaniac who just so happens to kind of resemble Kazzlehorf.
