Quick everyone, PM Mahz with your wishlist for Guild updates and new features. The more the better. In fact, send him a PM about it every day. Make that every hour. Chop chop!

To all the homies in Florida -- stay safe out there. Now is not the time to wrangle an alligator and surf it down the flooded streets. I know, it's hard to resist the urge.

Bio

On the old version of the Guild I was the record holder for 'Most Infraction Points Without Being Permabanned'.

My primary roleplaying genres are fantasy and science fiction. Big fan of The Elder Scrolls, The Lord of the Rings, Warhammer 40,000, Mass Effect, Fallout and others.

The only way is to have someone considered impartial on the matter, or a section of them to do so, @Buddha. Again, we are all aware that the Staff are few and are only slightly delegates; few are dedicated to particular roles. There would need to be peer review and ensure no cases of personal bias manifest - such as by ensuring review is not initiated by someone with a stake in it or relation to the any of the people who are.

These are unrealistic expectations. Something that complex and time-consuming won't happen.
@Lady Amalthea Agreed.
This doesn't fix inactivity though, which is an issue for another time and the inactivity of the arena board is certainly something that needs to be addressed at some point, regardless of 'this inactivity being inherent' to arena.

I don't see why this "needs to be addressed" at all. The users who actually use the Arena have repeatedly stated the activity levels in that subforum are not a problem. Inactivity isn't inherently something that needs to be "fixed".

As for creating a system in which players can be flagged as unreliable or inactive... this isn't something that I've ever considered or talked about with the other staff before. I'm not sure it's a) feasible and b) desirable. I agree with @Buddha that it's prone to abuse.

That said, Overwatch recently added a 'report player' option for 'inactivity', so why shouldn't we?

Interesting thought.
Tentatively interested.
Hey there @Pseudo Stygian, welcome back. It's a fine time to be around. Nothing has changed much over the past two years, activity is steady and there's much roleplaying to be done.

It wasn't even peak hours when your post was made; the Guild goes up to 200+ concurrent users in the American evening.
In Overwatch, agility and dodging is usually reserved for Genji Attack heroes. I think Do'Karth -- for example -- belongs there.

If GCS was made official the entire management of it would have to change. It'd have to be designed to how Iwaku does their discord channel which is actually official and actually ran by the administration of the site. Nobody in GCS as it currently stands would want that and the moderation staff on RPG are too stretched for time as it is. It won't work.

To give you guys an idea, take a look:

It won't happen.

Hey, Jorick made it to admin there? Fancy that.

Speaking of; the suggestion of a second admin has been brought to Mahz's attention and will be further looked into in the next few days. Rest assured with the knowledge that he thinks it's a good idea.
I think your job is to do other things like engage the community, for example [...]
