Sparks only smiled more at seeing her red face. Even though she still walked over confidently. The hesitation was the cake though, seeing how she reacted only gave him more confidence.
When she explained she figured it was something that came up he gave a tiniest of shrugs. She could say that. Fact was, she probably have seen his reason on the news. Not that anyone would know it was him.he was grateful she wouldn’t pry, not that he wouldn’t tell her. But not even starting the first date and dropping the big reveal that he was Defiance, the “ #1 hero vigilante. “ and that he just took out a mob boss and his crew.
He smiled more and looked around saying the students would start talking. “Let them them speak it to the world.” He said with a grin, then shook his head. “Nope, just wanted to show you I could set a table properly...” After she asked if he brought food. He had a large grin on his face. ” Of course I did, spent all morning preparing this for you.It’s a little taste from my home in France. “
He started to dish up the meal, which he had packed in the picnic basket, as she said she’s been waiting for this date since they met, he smiled. But when she mentioned making a wrong choice, he didn’t know what to say. As much as he wished he could have dated this lovely woman before. If he did, he might not have gotten back with his sweetheart, and had his beautiful daughter.
”Mmm I do admit, I always thought what if I tried a little harder back then. If things would have been different. Both of us might not even be where we are now if we did go on that date.”
As he finished serving up her food he poured her some “sparkling grape juice” at least that was what it said on the label. “I have been counting the minutes to see you once again as well.” he said as he smiled and sat a crossed from her.
He looked at her for a bit before saying. ”But it must be fate for us to come across each other once again...at the hospital, and the fact my niece just started here as well.
Kaida looked down while dulga mentioned that’s the very reason she should go. While true, she doubted she could overcome it. Ice and snow/ burned her like fire would to other people. She felt her healing skin sting and tingle at the thought.
Then dulga said she will drag them, that it wasn’t a choice anymore. Her eyes wide in fright. She pulled her legs onto the chair and hugged her thighs to her chest. Curling up into the fetal position. Letting out a groan of desperation. She wanted to go, but the fact there could be a chance she would hurt herself more. Scared her.
She decided to tell dulga later no… or just run. She would fly away if she had too. It sounded even worse if Mina would come, she had noticed her trying to scoot closer ever few moments. Clearly she was interested.
Dulga mentioning to leave the drama at the school, she huffed. Glaring at Mina for just a moment. But then she heard the door open.
Kaida was majorly confused when someone started saying Yuikaris name every other second. Quickly looking around seeing blips of black smoke here and there, then looking back and seeing yukari out of her chair being squeezed by a blonde girl. She could literally see yukari bending out of shape due to the strength behind the hug. Her eyes wide but a smile on her face. It was adorable when she wiggled her head out to speak to her. yukari seemed to enjoy it as she spoke excitedly calling her Mia.
It sounded too much like Mina, she knew of parents giving children similar names, but if she knew yukari, she doubted she was Minas sister. But then it clicked, she looked similar to someone else, Jett! Yukari mentioned knowing Jett very well, so it would make sense his sister would too. To be honest… she didn’t even know he had a sister.
She smiled when she introduced herself, but before she could reply she blinked from existence. Reappearing and plopping down with her arms around both Mina and Ruby, mentioning something but she only heard Jett. Mina blushing at the fact and asking what he said.
Her eyebrows furrowed. Jett was talking about Mina to his sister? She pursed her lips as she looked back to yukari who was digging into the snack Mia brought her. She then said she wanted to visit with Mia, and that she was like a sister to her. They were that close? Was she that close to Jettt to be like a sister to him? She didn’t ask as she smiled and said Of course! Go visit we will talk again.
When Mako was coming out, she could see him standing under a tree in the distance, there was a collapsible table that was set up, with a tablecloth dishes and lit candles. He was standing in a white shirt, with the first button undone and his sleeves rolled up, black slacks with just barely visible grey pinstripes on them. To just below his elbow. He was standing with a slight red on his face. It had been a while since he did anything like this.
When she walked out he sighed, Seeing how beautiful she was it relaxed him slightly. He smiled. “I have no words that can explain how sorry I am for not calling you sooner. Something had came up which is why I couldn’t call, but I couldn’t wait any longer. “
He indicated to the food, “Would you do me the honor to have lunch with me?”
Kaida nodded as Yukari answered her. It was true she never saw jett act like that before as well, but as she said before they all were dealing with hardships differently...perhaps it was the same for Roy and Jett. Despite hating what they did, she wouldn't allow that single instance define who they were...if she didn’t, how could she ever allow herself to forgive herself from when… She shook her head to get rid of the horrid memory. “We all say, or do things that we will regret. A single action that we do out of character...It doesn’t change who are inside…” she said as she placed a hand on her own chest. Nodding as if to reaffirm to herself that she wasn't a monster.
"I'm sure he doesn't just support you or is nice to you because you are a girl...He doesn't get along with Momoru...or Dulga. she said glancing at Dulga with a smirk. Not that Dulga helpped in that manner, always wanting to toss Jett out a window whenever he came up and spoke to Kaida. He would act nice, always hinting to something, like a inside joke about dancing or something. She didn't get it. But it always ruffled Dulga's feathers.
Kaida looked to dulga as she then spoke some harsh words, her eyes wide but words were caught in her throat. She didn’t think that was what Yukari needed to hear...though she understood why she was saying it like that.
She looked down and listened silently to them for a moment until Dulga brought up the idea of going to her home. She perked up, but then realized something. It had to be cold up there… Yukari reaffirmed this. Groaning as she heard this she pulled her legs up to her chest, her heels catching the edge of the chair she was in as she wrapped her warm cloak around her. Allowing the cowl to fall even farther over her face as she pressed her nose to her knees. Shivering at the thought.
“I-I wanna go...But...but its coooooooooold up there… I don’t know if I could handle it.” She rubbed her burned arms gently. She looked to Yukari, realizing that her quirk made her weak to cold as well. Funny how two different quirks had the sameish effect on them.
She really liked the idea though, going to see where dulga grew up...maybe not the training part. But her with her friends...her cheeks warmed up at the thought. She never done that before.

Kaida smiled for a moment when she was offered a water and took it but held onto it. It was till too cold for her taste. But she looked between the two as Dulga started to talk. She was taken back however really quickly that Dulga was...well CRYING. She never saw her roomate do that in the time they spent together.
It seemed she felt bad that she wasn’t there for them, that they shouldn’t have been alone...but she wasn’t...Roy, Takeshi, Reina and Michiko were with her… but she knew what she meant. Though even after, her Uncle and cousin were there with her...along with the others. Sadly she really didn’t notice that Dulga had left for a while because she was so excited about regaining part of her family.
Kaida reached out and grabbed Dulga’s hand and squeezed it tightly with a warm smile on her face. But before she could say anything, Yukari let out her own rant. Causing Kaida to jump a little, not expecting that from her, her eyes wide as she listened to what she had to say.
She looked down as she thought about how she was handling things...clearly everyone was feeling the pressure of dealing with such evil… or being attacked by some villain. She was just glad they were alive still. She didn’t want to say anything because she grew up with a horrible father… so it was something she was sort of used to… being abused mentally and physically when ever she made a mistake.
While her arms still hurt from that cold… she was able to cope with it. She looked to Yukari, and said softly.”I just wanna say that I don’t see that at all when I look at you Yukari. You are not some second act, who needs help. The fact you are here despite your ‘handicap’ shows how great you really are. To add to the fact, we just finished out our first week of training...everyone has growing to do. So don’t beat yourself up about it okay?” Her thoughts turned to the video showing the battle between Jett and Yukari. ”And from what I saw. The moment Jett saw you, he tried to get away. Like he knew he couldn’t beat you head on.It says a lot because from what I’ve seen of Jett, and from I’ve heard. He’s trained for this since he was little.He’s near the top of the class, And he seemed to know your abilities first hand so that was a little unfair advantage. But despite that, he was scrambling to get away from you. Which shows he respects your abilities.
We also have so much to learn so it always seems like it we are leagues behind everyone...Even for me. That's why we need to help each other.
She looked to Dulga and smiled at her. “Just knowing you gave me your cloak meant worlds to me, more than any words you could say. I know you were there for me. Even in spirit.” she added remembering she left for home soon after.
Knowing she didn’t answer yet for herself, she glanced over and just noticed Mina and Ruby were talking to each other, just out of reach of ears. She tightened the muscles in her neck for a moment, in an almost wince that they walked in and started a ‘ruckus’ without even seeing them. .
She looked down and pulled her hands into her lap. ”A-as for me… I’m ok… yeah I got hurt...and I couldn’t really do anything to help, but their quirk was my exact weakness.... I felt worthless as well….unable to do anything. I literally froze. And I felt horrible. She blushed as she was feeling like she was rambling… and that she was saying things similar to Yukari.”BUT I…I realized afterwards...with the help of My Uncle...that I’ve never been in a fight like that at all… I was pretty sheltered growing up...and only quite recently started on this path to become a hero. I have a lot to learn. “
She looked back to Yukari…”People deal with trauma in different ways... She frowned as she realized she gave both Jett and Roy dirty looks. Realizing now that could have just made things worse… ”I know Jett and Roy never act like that normally. So they might be hurting in ways we dont understand… just like us...
Shaking her head. ”sorry I’m rambling...
kaida lowered her hands when roy lowered his bow. She didn't get to say anything else when everyone else jumped in. She turned around when Jett started to talk back to Yukari, but he stopped as well. Why were they doing this? it seemed so stupid to her. She turned back to Roy when Mako suddenly appeared and disarmed him. But he wouldn't look her in the eyes again.
Jett started going on like it wasn't a big deal, which annoyed her a bit. It certainly was, and he wasn't being honest about it. However Dulga then tried to usher them away once again. She didn't want to go, but at this same time Kenichi also came in, asking what went wrong and clearly trying to get other girls out of there as well. She sighed as she looked at the two knuckleheads again. Her arms crossed under her cloak out of forming anger and that she was cold.
No one else got hurt... She said to Kenichi. But as much as she wanted to stay and figure this out... it did seem awkward for her to stay. She wrapped an arm through Yukari's elbow crook and said. "Come on. Lets go," She looked to Dulga to indicate she will follow her.
She looked at the two boys again. Idiots... she said softly.

Kaida was shocked still as Roy and Jett were yelling at each other and saying such mean things. She wasn’t expecting that. They were both so nice before. Suddenly though, Dulga appeared and handed her Acion. ”U-uhh wait what?! she asked confused as she took Acion from Dulga’s arms like he was a princess. She quickly dropped his feet but held on so he wasn’t putting too much weight on his legs. It would have been too awkward for her to carry him like that. One being she was only five feet in comparison to dulga, acion’s wings would be dragging. The other...well more awkward for Acion to be carried by a girl.
Dulga moved away to tell mamoru and Hitomi to get a teacher. Kaida didn't want to leave though, She wanted them to stop. But she moved away anyways with Tomoe towards the door. However before she reached out to grabbed the door handle, the fight suddenly escalated to fists.
She wanted to yell out but her voice was stuck in her throat. It got worse and worse and worse, to the point that Dulga was right in getting them to move as their spot where they were sitting were hit by Roys quirk.
She was confused why Jett didn’t use his quirk during this. Was he just trying to prove a point? And Why was Roy using such dangerous moves? As well as Jett being so rough with Roy who clearly had some injuries still on his body. Acion explained she didn’t need to hold him up anymore. She did let him go and started moving towards Roy. STOP IT YOU TWO! STOP!” As it looked like Roy was about to shoot She allowed her legs to revert back to her hybrid form just long enough she could use the power to leap out infront of Roy with her arms spread out. Quickly turning them back to their normal human look as soon as she landed.
Kaida jumped a little when suddenly a hand patted her head. Grateful Her horns were not hidden in the ears of her cloak. She looked back at the person who did it and relaxed. Giving a smile back to Dulga. She knew she was smiling… being her Roomate and trying to decipher her emotions with just her eyes showing. They got abnormally soft when ever she did smile.
She didn’t get a chance to say anything as she made a beeline for Acion, challenging him to a fight. She found it odd that Dulga knew she had super strength. But never asked to spar with her. Not that she took offense. But just odd. She looked over to Tomoe as she walked over. Sitting up a little on her seat as she did. Tomoe, even though they never had a real chance to talk much, was adorable in her eyes.
She also noticed as Tomoe walked over that Roy sulked into the training room. Clearly in a foul mood by the scowl on his face.
Kaida couldn’t get him, ever since the hospital when Jett and the others visited, he seemed off.
She frowned as she looked to him but she didn’t want to get into it now. Turning back to Tomoe, who called her Kai-kai.. she didn’t know what to think about that nickname but she smiled anyway. “Hello Tomoe, yes I am comfy… this was specially made for me by my uncle and cousin. Warmest material they could find.” She smiled more. As she wrapped herself up even more. “Sadly the teachers wont let me wear it during sc-“
She was interrupted as she noticed Jett walking up. A bright blush came upon her cheeks. As much as she was embarrassed by what happened in the hospital, Jett acted like it never happened. Checking up on her every day to see if she needed anything.
He suddenly warned her about tomoe, that she might steal her cloak. Her hands instinctively clutched the thick soft cloth and synched it to her body. Looking at Tome with a surprised look.
”Is that true?” she asked with a small smile. A glint in her eye showed she thought Jett was joking… but a little part in her felt… maybe…
She looked back up and notice Jett continue onto Roy, sitting next to him. Talking to him. Well isn’t that nice? She couldn’t hear what he was saying and turned back to tomoe. Only to jump in her seat as she heard Roy starting to go off on Jett. She looked back around. Shocked at seeing Roy like that. Putting her bandaged hand to her mouth.
He started to say mean things to Jett, saying he didn’t understand him that he had a hard life, and that he felt it added to his mother's pain. That he had to work for everything to get here while Jett messed around, flirting. And taking no one seriously.
She wondered why he suddenly went into this rage, both of them standing as Roy pushed him hard with a finger jab. Saying that it was Jett’s grandfather, was the only reason he was here.
She was shocked for words, she wanted to say something and stop it, but she just pressed against tomoe for comfort.
