Open World Wild West RP?

I've had this idea for the last couple of days, since I returned to the Guild basically.

The RP would be set in the Wild West, in a fictionalized version of a part of New Mexico by the border to Mexico. The area has been fictionalized to make it easier to understand for all in the RP, including myself. It is open world, with no real linear storyline at the moment. Instead there would be developing side quests which could lead to a main storyline. There would be five towns which the players may visit. I myself will control my own character along with several key NPCs and the environment in certain instances. There would be bounty NPCs the characters can hunt down and claim the cash reward on.

It would also be a casual RP. I'm open to suggestions to make it more fun.

Darius nodded to Hunt, then rose out of his seat. He started towards the door out of the room then stopped himself right before the doorway, he turned towards Hunt and the others.

"In that case, I'll be in the armory getting ready for the mission. Drop by if you need me." He said, then gave a military salute to Hunt before exiting the room into the hallway. Damn, it's been forever since I actually saluted someone. He thought as he reentered his personal quarters. The mercenary glanced around, finding his rifle, submachine gun and armor. He loaded those into a bag, along with his other possessions, then left his room, locking it behind him. He would mostly live in the armory, only returning to his quarters to sleep.

After crossing down several hallways, he came upon his new area, the armory. It was similar to any other armory, three tables with guns on them, a desk in the corner, walls lined with cabinets full of equipment and one window behind the desk which gave a phenomenal view of outer space. The place made Darius feel at home, he always felt more comfortable around guns, every since he enlisted. He walked over to the desk, noticing the computer one it. He placed his bag of items on top of the desk, then unzipped it.

Darius pulled out his armor first, he had this armor for many years, it had served him well. He placed it down on the floor, helmet, upper piece and lower piece. Then he took out his submachine gun and sniper rifle, placing them on a nearby metal table. He had to clean those before the mission, make sure they were in pristine condition.

Darius blinked then wandered over to the cabinet which contained the items for the mission. He popped it open, revealing racks of flares, ropes, ice axes, oxygen masks and crampons. All the stuff necessary to navigate a frozen rock like they one they were headed to. Not that he liked having to go an icy, frozen planet, but a mission is a mission. He took inventory and began preparing for the mission.

Darius relaxed in his seat as he waited for a reply from someone, whether it be the captain or someone else with knowledge of the sector. The alien known as Rane replied to Darius in a sort of gleeful tone. He seemed eager to fight any pirates that would foolishly go after the Maruader's ship. Darius himself shared the same sentiment as he spoke back to the lizard alien.

"It's been too long since I've properly beaten down one of those scum. I've been cooped up on this ship or under custody of the lawmen for too long for my liking. I just want to bash one of those pirate's skulls in with the butt of my machine gun, I've encountered those filth too many times in the past, they're all the same. Murderers, rapists and thieves. The more of them we take out, the less of a problem to the rest of the galaxy they are." Darius stated to Rane, adding in a slight smirk at the end, he too was eager to hand out some justice.

"I have one, captain." Darius mentioned, speaking right after Ace the pilot had. Darius would try to show some respect to Hunt, he hadn't called anyone captain in a long time, almost twenty years since he had left the military, but he still remembered how everything went in the military, always show respect to those in higher positions, Hunt was no exception. Even if it did feel odd addressing a man fifteen years his junior as captain.

"Any reports of pirates, slavers or gangs in the system and the planet? We could be walking into a trap, you never know, someone could've caused the eruption on the planet as a way to get a ship sent to investigate so that they could then jump on the investigating ship and try to take it for their own reasons." Darius had been around the block before, a mission was never as simple as it was told it was going to be. There was always something else, something that they either forgot to mention or just missed entirely. He didn't think for certain they could be walking into a trap, but it was a valid enough concern that he should address it in front of the crew.

I shoulda asked this before but what like is the Marauder ship? At first I pictured it looking like the Serenity from Firefly, but now I'm starting to see it as bigger than that.

I got a SSV Normandy feel from it.
