And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.
I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.
Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!
As do I. I've been drafting the defaulted action in case it comes to that, and thus far I believe Miss/Mrs. Oakfell will be chasing the hooded figure, ending their move at the corner of the streets and looking for their mark. Shooting if needed.
On another note, have any of you heard of this TRPG called Chthonian Highways? I myself got acquainted with the system last weekend at Ropecon, it's Mad Max like Road Warriors in a Lovecraftian post-apocalypse. If there was someone to host such a game, I'd be sure to try it again. I unfortunately do not have the time and resources to lead a campaign myself... If any of you guys would like to have a look, I'll leave a link to the alpha playtesting material: ironspine.com/wp/en/blog/2015/10/31/ch..
Ah, I must have read that wrong in some way then. Pardon the confusion @The Harbinger of Ferocity. And the disadvantage rule is something I personally have come into contact many times, something that comes packed together with favouring spellcasters as my character archetype.
Now it would be Trear's turn to do their thing. @VKAllen, your call! If you want to, you will be able to reach the alleyway where the hooded guy went to now that you have began moving in said direction. Do PM me if you do, so that I can tell you what's over there to be seen.
The bow wielding humanoid did not show their face, but on the other hand one couldn't hear any retreating steps from their chosen alley either. What might they be up to, if they even had decided to stay in the first place would be something the adventurers would have to find out for themselves...
Nothing to see here. Current situation is effectively unchanged.
That would be a Readied action and Lay on Hands is an action on it's own. Brannor has not yet obtained the feat that'd let him strike enemies like that, but if nothing else the kobold will be disadvantaged thanks to someone being in melee range when they try to shoot. Or if they'll try to run, the warrior will get their opportunity attack as usual.
The kobold did not appreciate someone claiming that they walked like a newborn child. They had no trouble walking, it was running that had had them tripping. There was a difference! The creature glared at the bard and pointed one of it's fingers towards them. Once they had the opportunity for payback, it would be the halfling that walked funny.
The kobold succeeds on it's wisdom save with a roll of 15.
There we go. So, on Orchid's next turn if they are to seek an eye on the battlefield do send me a PM with a perception roll prior to that @Lucius Cypher. Then I can tell what they see. Next up would be Parum, meaning it's @Ryonara's turn to see what can be done.
The situation after the first round now looks a little something like this: Yes, my doodlings are terrible. I hope they aid with something though.
As Trear began their assault, a kobold flung themselves from a barrel at them, in an attempt to drive a dagger in the ranger's torso. The move didn't go quite as had been planned though, as the elf was much faster than them, releasing the prepared arrow with pinpoint accuracy straight through the creatures lower jaw and their head. The dagger was promptly released from their grip and clattered onto the ground with the kobold following in a slightly steeper arc. It was quite evident that this one was not getting up.
One more of the creatures ran from the same corner as the earlier figure, hastily letting loose a rock from their sling at Trear. As the ranger felt the rock colliding with their arm, the kobold tried to turn and run as the prior assailant had done, but tripped on their own feet. They barely made it up before the next one of the adventurers was on the move.
The kobold not killed by the prepared arrow hits Trear with their sling (roll of non-nat 20), causing 6 damage.
Now, while technically Orchid would move after the kobolds, nothing really noteworthy happened as his stealth antics continued successfully. On his next turn he should be able to get an eye on the battlefield.
@VKAllen I will not comment on the character importance, but rules are rules. While it may not be the fun thing to deny taking said shot, if you people were to stand behind the wall of the building you are at, the enemies couldn't target you either. They are using tactics allowed by the rules of the edition and to gain extra safety they are missing out on having an eye on the action. I do not see saying no to you shooting at targets whose location you do not know to be unreasonably limiting. Could you please choose another action for the turn? I am not asking to reroll the attack if you are making a readied/point targeted attack, just to change the action to be plausible. This does also include running after them and seeing if they are in your line of sight after thirty feet. The distance to the back wall of the house is longer than that though, so you might just be redundantly exposing yourself if you chose that. Might.
I am sure we can work something out here, I am not against you guys. The enemies might be, but my ultimate goal is not to kill you all. It is to tell a story with you.
