At my funeral, take the bouquet off my casket and throw it into the crowd to see who's next.

Joss didn’t quite take cues as you would think someone would from another who apparently didn’t want them around. However, they both had been friends for as long as could be remembered, so the Driver only assumed Olivia was merely in a foul “mood” due to work-related stress.

“Yeah, yeah.” Joss sighed, never really taking their friend all that seriously. I mean, going through boring papers couldn’t have been much fun for anyone. “You lead an exciting life.”

While they weren’t especially good at conveying their emotions, Joss had a thing for Olivia, ever since that one kiss a few years back that made things awkward, but also made them think that there could be so much more to their relationship beyond the friend zone. But it also seemed that Olivia was always busy, or simply never around, which made it much harder to actually do anything.

“I miss you, Liv.” The other finally said, fidgeting with their fingers anxiously just before the food arrived, and was set down near the edge of the table. Joss took a few sips of the coffee, making an almost sensual moaning sound as they tasted the bit of chocolate infused into the drink. “Holy shit, I am so in love with their coffee like everytime.”

Unwrapping the breakfast sandwich, Joss looked up at their friend, who apparently was still enveloped into their work, and then looked back down at the sandwich before taking a few bites. “So…” They said with a mouthful. “When are we going to hang out again?”

It had been ages since they both hung out, maybe almost a year or so, if memory served. Joss had been busy over the last year, making runs for various clients, picks-up, drop-offs, and of course, the handful of times they’d park outside a bank or jewelry store waiting to drive off with passengers who had just robbed those very places. There was never anything glamourous about their career, but it paid, and paid well nevertheless. Joss was a great driver, and their employers -as well as the competition- knew it.
Always a wanderer.

Vah'lux, watched as the priest disappeared into one of the smaller rooms momentarily, and her eyes couldn't help by glance back at the rolled up map placed into the human's hand, the one called Renault. She supposed he had been the one chosen to “lead” the group in the priests absence, which was fine by her standards, as long as the human kept his wits about him in the unknown. Overall, however, her opinion of the group was on the more positive side, sizing up each based combat prowess, chosen weapons and armor, and general disposition. The Goliath herself, while still fairly young and inexperienced regarding the world and what lies beyond the unknown lands, still retained a confidence in her own abilities as a warrior and hunter.

But she had to, as there was no other recourse.
Finally on their way, traveling under the open sky with the village to their backs was most welcomed by the Goliath, despite the wet, muddied path that went on for some time. To once again hear the ambiance of nature and feel the dampness of lingering moisture on her slate-toned skin, lifted a spirit that had otherwise begun a slow descent into darkness while caged behind iron and stone. She shook off the thoughts, however, hoping to never find herself back in such a situation again. Her people were never meant to be locked in a cage, thrown into captivity, and used for sport like they had been through the ages. Vah’lux only hoped one day soon to find her tribe, to join them in rebuilding, and help protect what future generations may come.

“Only death resides here.” The pseudo-giant spoke under her breath, slowing her pace as she surveyed the area that had been riddled with bones as far as the eye could see. There were plenty of animal remains, and perhaps those of humans as well. What could have happened here? A great battle? Natural selection?

When the group made it to the clearing, the site of the charred farm house as well as the surrounding area, put the Goliath on alert, as she clenched her glaive, ready to defend at a moments notice.

“There is much death here as there is life.” Vah’lux said loud enough to be heard by the group. “Be on guard.”

@Lauder, definitely loving your Imp Investigator!
WB to Guild, @Andromedai!

Now go do something awesome!
My anxiety is an axe murderer,
with a flower in its hand.

It urges me to slay myself,
with ill and poetic demand,
and bitters and salts,
and honey and malt,
grains of irreconcilability through me,
malleable like mountains,
in desert sands.
Very nice work. I see you're into the high fantasy genre :)

Kill vermin?...

The Goliath listened to the words of the priest, arching an eyebrow at the mention of their task, which seemed more a mockery of their troupe and skillset than anything real. She wanted to speak up as to dismiss such a thing for a joke and inquire of their actual appointed task. One that, perhaps that would challenge their combat prowess instead of make them feel as though they were glorified exterminators of small garden creatures.

Does he not realize the large, muscular woman was trained as a warrior, fending their community from invaders?

Pride set aside, in retrospect, Vah'lux had seen very little combat outside of training, and gladiatorial bloodsport, so perhaps this was exactly the type of beginnings Kavaki had deemed appropriate for redemption.

She simply nodded in acknowledgement to the priest’s words, curious however, as to what said "creatures of the wood" were like. However, what piqued her attention was the very matter-of-fact tone of the Elf and their comment with regard to the welfare of the creatures. There was truth in her words, and while a Goliath did their best to protect those natural wonders that were unable to protect themselves, there was still a task to be completed nevertheless. No one had to like it, but it was what must be done.

"Then a hunt it is." Vah'lux spoke with a confidence of one who knew the hunt all too well, with the massive glaive standing tall and strong, clenched in her hand.

*slowly scratches your name off my PEOPLE-I-NEED-TO-REAR-CHOKE list*

Boo-fucking-hoo.

You can always choke me. I think my schedule will allow it.

As for a fact: For the first time, I signed up for a "zombie run" coming up in a couple of months and I question wtf I was thinking.
Thanks @Heat! I cleaned up the sheet a bit and then moved it over to the CS tab
