You don't realize how isolated you are until a pandemic hits and you legit make zero changes to your life.

Hard to believe it was 4 years ago I wrote this article, and yet I look back and seem to continue tripping over myself on several points XD

As a professional artist working in the industry, I seem to be fighting against myself a lot, especially with what is referred to as "Imposter Syndrome". Something of which a lot of creatives struggle with because we live in an time where we question why we bother to do anything anymore when it can easily be replicated by a computer.

I've certainly been following the "AI art" craze, and while it feels detrimental to the creative world and everything we stand for, I've also found a lot of merits to its existence. It's a tool, like everything else, to inspire and not replace creatives.

Anyway, I hope this thread continues to circulate, and always feel free to add your own struggles that haven't been mentioned. I would like to update the OP eventually...
Finally feel comfortable and safe after years of feeling like I'm doing life wrong.
@Milkman For your review :)

We are on the same page. :D

One of the things I thought would be fun to delve into with a Changeling is the idea that the character feels increasingly lost in all the masks and personas she has adopted.

I would imagine the personas (the fully developed characters a Changeling creates and maintains) are particularly challenging to maintaining a "true" original self.

Illusion magic as you suggested would only make this disconnect more severe.

Yes exactly! Great start so far and I'm looking forward to seeing how your character comes to life :)
I kinda want to go rogue / wizard (illusion), for the thematic ability to create sets out of thin air.

I love that idea! Taking it a bit further, what if your character has lived as an illusion artist for so long that the line is sometimes blurry between what's real and what's materialized.
First to the key, First to the egg!

Okay, just wanted to get that out of my head XD

I should have my CS up for review by tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback @Milkman
I've got a thought about an undead gunslinger, very personable and easygoing, bit of an adrenaline junkie

Oooo, getting Deadlands vibes :)

Haha, that was the plan.

It seemed peak Changeling to just go "what if I just play every character in this play".

Not that she couldn't or wouldn't work with a larger troupe, but to start with I think she'd be doing her own thing.

haha nice! I can definitely see that.

As for mine, I was going to go human at first, but I think I might go with one of the larger races in like D&D, such as Goliath or maybe a Half-Orc. I'm wanting to go with tribal/barbarian archetype, but not like berserker warrior, lol. She fights when she must, and since she was born in the desert, can endure the hot/dry elements pretty well.
The concept I am considering at the moment is a Changeling traveling actress with some probably less than legal dealings (thinking some manner of thievery).

I love Changelings! So untrustworthy, but also just plain cool XD

As an actor, do they have like a one-person act they put on, considering they could shapeshift for every role?
