Biography: A large part of his rough and straightforward nature can likely be traced back to his place of birth, none other than New York, New York. For the first five years of his life, while his father worked a high-end position at a tech company out of the Big Apple, Shinjiro was a rough and tumble son of the closest thing America had to Tokyo, A first-generation Japanese-American in a nice, but still tough neighborhood. Standing out a bit with his asiatic heritage and small smatterings of Japanese mixed into his English (Thanks, mom), Shinjiro quickly found himself at the center of scraps that erupted from bullying. And he found that he took to them like a fish to water. Soon garnering a reputation as not one to be trifled with, up til first grade Shinjiro found himself making fast friends.

Then Dad had to move back home, and little Shinjiro was tossed into Tokyo, and the process started anew. Now brash and headstrong, he quickly made a name for himself by habitually standing up to any sort of bullying or injustice he'd seen, eschewing the guiding principle of "mind your own business" for "that shit ain't right, quit bustin' my balls". Soon enough, just as many tried to make a name for themselves off of him (especially after hearing he'd taken up karate to boot) as found themselves defending their egos against his casual lack of taking shit from anyone he disliked.

One tumultuous year later, and our boy'd found himself living in Academy City, having show great potential as a dormant esper. Living on his own for real for the first time, he admittedly found himself lost in the freedom of it all. After a couple years of finding his way, the boy with burning blood now is established and centered, a high schooler at Hybrid Academy, her fiercest fighter and her most stalwart hero!

Personality: Hotblooded, Whimsical, Brave, Blunt

Seemingly at ease with living purely in the now, it can be said that Shinjiro takes each day anew, not being one much for planning or fussing over the details. Fuhgeddaboutit! Each day presents new challenges anyway, so he really should just go with his gut and what feels right to face them! Always willing to throw himself into whatever piques his interest, his excitability and flexibility belie a wicked streak of stubbornness, an indescribable drive to come out on top. This is only pushed to even further heights when you factor in his complete confidence in his abilities, holding self-belief like none other that at times skirts the boundary towards arrogance. Part wannabe hero of justice, part complete smartass, and all unfiltered, what you see is what you get, and he'll never back down on it!

Skills:
Kyokushin Karate! So much so that he joined the boxing club and got shown the door for kicking everyone in the head in the first day of sparring! With time and growing experience with punching faces as well as bodies, it's slowly starting to become Kickboxing!
Talking English! A Citizen of New Yooork~ New Yooooork~ until the age of 5, constant practice by writing and calling old friends from Japan has allowed him to naturally master two languages!
Not studying! Time away from parents in Academy city has made him a masterful procrastinator!

Ability: Whereas most espers externally control the elements, Shinjiro's power comes from within in the form of Burning Blood! Able to naturally control his body temperature by exciting his bloodstream, he uses 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit as a standard, everyday operating setting, but is capable of overclocking it from there! This produces the effect of raising his body temperature to heights of 1000 degrees, hot enough to weaken steel beams on contact! 

Special Skills:

Heat Haze! All humans radiate some body heat, and Karasawa has weaponized it! With a combination of heat coming off of him in waves and steam emitting from the same pores that normally would produce sweat, at high body temperatures the air around him seems to thicken, shimmer, and feel oppressively heavy and warm! Can be used to wear enemies down, keep friends warm, or even evade red light cameras by muddling the picture (not yet tested, but in theory possible)!

Burning Charge! With an excited and hot bloodstream running faster than any normal man's oxygen is ferried at a much faster rate to Shinjiro's muscles when he's running hot, providing a boost in endurance and strength!

Disadvantages: At his highest temperatures, Shinjiro's Heat Haze becomes so oppressive and intense that it's both immediately dangerous to most others within short distances (roughly 35 feet), and it begins to hamper his own vision through the sheer thickness of the air around him, as if suddenly giving him nearsightedness. Additionally, his own temperature at a full blast of 1000 degrees often lead to things he touches getting burned of scorched, as he has no way to selectively transfer the energy. 

As a result of these factors, he is found running at a nothing higher than a mild fever in his day-to-day life, and must choose the moments when he can turn up the heat carefully based on his surroundings. 

Magic: None, 'cause that stuff's weird and he's an esper anyway.

He cleared his throat, eyes leaping back to his schematics and away from the light rosy tinge that'd suddenly appeared on his teammate's face. Where had that come from? He'd always sort of assumed her to be less stoic than she could sometimes seem, but where did this sudden, heartstopping overload of cuteness come from?

"I-I'll be sure to keep that in mind, Cian. And yeah, I totally get it. Thanks again."

The words continued to spill out of his mouth before he could stop them.

"Given that you've basically outlined all the steps for me, I think I'll be able to handle it. People can only help themselves, right?"

A start on the road back, if nothing else. Being blindsided like that had lasting effects, to say the least. As a young man, he simply couldn't help being thrown for a loop, and simply tried to remain a consummate gentleman in spite of it all.

Scooting his seat out, he made for the scrap pile for any materials.
