Bio

Hello all. I am an experienced writer who is writing my own fiction stories on the side. I can role play any genre. What I love most is being able to go-all-out when weaving tales with other writers. It just makes the story more interesting, so I can't wait to write with you. :)

Hey everyone,

So this is a revamp of my old game Aegis War. I decided to just open the world up to the players rather than to keep it locked up entirely. Feel free to take your time reading the OOC if you are interested. If you like what you are seeing, then let me know who you intend to play and I'll reserve the character for you.

So much for trying to get Senzu Beans from Korin. -_-

It's like, "Go on ahead to your deaths guys." *offers zero help despite knowing the odds*

I mean, I can always say Fenrir-O has some from his universe, but I was trying to acquire them in an in-game way rather than just saying he has them. But it seems that will have to be the case.

You also know that Korin isn't a useless cat right? He's actually a god lol and a master trainer?

Hey everyone, so here is the revamp of the game. Just a warning, it is in the Advanced Section. If advanced isn't your thing, then...well...as I said, you were warned!

If you are keeping your characters, then let me know. There is no secret who you are playing in this game so the sooner you let me know who you will be RPing, the sooner I can reserve it to keep any new players from taking those characters. HOWEVER, you guys have priority over new people since you were in the first iteration of this game. :D Enjoy the veteran status.

Character Sheet

As I explained in the introduction, you will be role playing a character from our history. Refer to the CS explanation for what kind of historical/legendary characters you can role play. The idea is that those who died on Earth had their spirits transferred to an alternate dimension/reality, which is Alta. These spirits filter into Aenia's fruit and whether man, beast, or monster they are recreated in Alta. Some possess the same qualities as they did when they were alive. Some who might have been good in their past-life could have now become evil. It is free will that governs our decisions. Characters that are led astray can be called back by those who remember them. Unfortunately, past life villains depending on the magnitude of sin they committed in their past lives are irredeemable.

Character Rules

1. Every character will be human.
2. I allow gender-bending.
3. No one will play a villain but they can play antiheroes such as pirates, thieves, ninjas, etc.
4. Gods, goddesses, and Titans are not allowed.

Character Sheet Explanation

You can design this CS how you wish, but for those who like to just fill in the info, I made a pretty basic one for you.

Character Name Goes Here - This is the name of your historical reference. You can use references from: folk legends, musicians, ancient/feudal legendary heroes, famous athletes, actors, writers, scientists, inventors, geniuses, artists, generals, kings/queens, emperors/empresses, pharaohs, prophets, monks, philosophers, etc.

Character Image Goes Here - I want to see only original art or digital art here. I do not want to see "well-known" canon characters from TV shows, anime, etc. You can also use photography. You do not have to have an image if you cannot find one or would rather not have a headache trying to find one that meets what you envision. Do not worry about this at this time. It is really hard to find bald children that aren't patients for a medical illness, so don't even worry about this section!

Age: We will be starting the game with the characters being no younger than 7 years old and no older than 12 years old. This is simply for character development and relation-building purposes for the start of the game. There will be a major and super significant time skip after the initial arc concludes.
Eye Color: You may not know what color eyes your historical reference had. You are free to make it up, but please make an effort to find out.
Hair Color: Every characters' head is shaved practically bald. This is to make them all look the same and to instill fear and control. If you haven't figured it out, since we're starting in Aiwren, the characters are labor slaves who work for a master. He is trying to sell them for great profits.
Height: This will depend on your character's age. I do not mind them being tall but no kid should be 6 or 7 feet at 7 years old unless that's a part of his or her legend.
Weight: Basically the same message I wrote for "Height."
Physique: Describe your character's figure, shape, muscle mass, or plumpness.
Complexion: Skin hue.
Immunities: These may be granted by your character's hidden abilities.
Weaknesses: Everyone has a weakness, however, these are not to be used as metagame knowledge. These can be physical, mental, or weaknesses as a side-effect of their legend or powers. If you decide to go into a more psychological weakness, then you may have to write similar information below in the "Quirks" section.

Titles & Feats: None - You do not have titles at this time. These are achievements that can be acquired throughout the game. Say if your character slays a mythic beast or destroys an army, etc. They are like feats, and the more you have the more fearsome and renowned your character becomes throughout the world. These are awarded by the GM. You cannot self-award feats.

Basic Personality: You can just write a quick summary of your character's personality. If you feel inspired to write a lot, then please do so. Inspiration is a good thing.

Psychological/Social Issues: Not all characters will have these but it's here for those that do.

Appearance: Well, all characters start out bald and wearing sack-cloth gowns that go down to their knees. If you want your character to have defining marks on his or her body such as tattoos, brands, scars, burns, etc. You can elaborate on the details in this section.

Natural Abilities: I would like these to be listed so use

. This keeps it all neat and easy to read. Natural abilities are innate abilities that your character may have due to their power or lore. You will start off with two.

Power: Your character is just starting out with ONE POWER. Your character barely remembers who he or she is. Their memories may be dreams when they sleep. They remember their names but they don't completely remember where they come from. Because of this memory loss, they can't remember their strengths from when they were alive on Earth. Do not try to write three powers as one. There's a difference between converting energy and manipulating energy. There is a difference between manipulating water and manipulating ice. So try to be specific so we don't have characters with the same abilities.

Companion: Not everyone will have an animal friend. You do not have to have one. This is just for those who might have a pet. They're kids after all!

Relations: This section can be filled out when you and others join the game. I will say it is very convenient to establish pre-existing relations before the game starts. They could be already friends, one could have a secret crush on the other, one could have a knight complex over the other, two can be rivals, who knows? This is the beauty of character development.

First Story Arc: The Boston Tea Party

At the beginning of this arc, your character will be a servant under Marcus Licinius Crassus (115 BC - 53 BC). Not all characters will have similar jobs because some may be stronger and sturdier than others. Some may solely be used for pit fighting other servants. There will be limited slots for that position. I don't want every character to be a pit fighter.

Your characters are unable to read Arn, so the newspapers won't matter to them much, but they may hear rumors about The Sons of Liberty, a group that supposedly runs about liberating slaves. Because of this group, Crassus has his overseers watching the characters like hawks to make sure they aren't planning to escape or do anything suspicious. Little do they know, Samuel Adams (September 27, 1722 - October 2, 1803) already has his eyes on the labor camp.

Current Story/Completed Arcs

This section is for story summary in case we have late joiners. This will only be filled out as we complete story arcs.

Rules

Because a RP can't be complete without them.
1. Try to keep all OOC conversations in the OOC. That is why it is there.
2. If you use pictures, please size them down or use the "hider." We do not want ridiculously-huge pictures taking up the whole game and lagging out people’s computers.
3. Activity: You have 14 days to post. If you do not post within 14 days, then I will PM you. If you do not respond in 30 days, then I will do what I need to do with your character. However, after 7 days of inactivity, I will ask the writers that you left hanging to move on.
4. What I say goes. I tend to make decisions for the sake of the game and not for the sake of my personal opinion. If you do not like my decision, then you can either: a) deal with it, b) tell me in a constructive manner why you don’t like it, preferably in PMs, or c) get out. This takes us to the next rule.
5. No drama. I don’t like pointless arguing, so if you start an argument over this game, I will tell you how to fix your problem. If you don’t like it, then leave. I’m not going to argue with you. It would be a waste of my time to do so.

Brief Explanation

In this game, you will be playing a hero or anti-hero from legend, folk lore, or world history. You will not be playing a villain for they are meant to be overcome and defeated. They also make handy bad guy NPCs. You will also not be playing gods, goddesses, demigods, or titans.
Setting

This role play takes place in the world of Alta. It is a high-fantasy world full of creatures of myth and legend. The technology varies from the medieval spear to steampunk and magic. As you see below, the map is mostly blank except for the six main nations being mentioned. We will be creating this world together as we go. The map will be updated as each town is mentioned. We will be starting this game in Aiwren, so your main focus should be there.

Geography

1. Dafin (D-aw-f-in) – (sounds almost like Dolphin) the western-most continent separated from the second and third continents by mountains. The mountains can be hiked, which can be a days’ journey depending on the mode of transportation, or one can take a ship or ferry. It is discouraged to fly over the mountains due to the severe ice storms.

Nation Name: Dafin
Ruler: King Charles XII - Carolus Rex (April 5, 1697 - November 30, 1718)
Dominant Religion: -Ism
Language: Dafeen (Whoever creates the language here will have to share it with any of those player who join the game at a later time. It doesn’t have to be a made-up language. It can simply be a distinct dialect or accent)
Trade Goods: Precious Metal Ore, Coal, Diamonds, Seafood, and Glass.
Nation Symbol: A black armored fist amidst a white background. The fist signifies the power of man. The color black represents the coal and ore the country is known for. The white represents purity, which is a process that the ore goes through.
Motto: The Hotter the Fire; The Stronger the Steel. (Can be changed if a player chooses to be the ruler of Dafin)
Characters Residing: To be filled out later in the plot

2. Cremend (Creh-men) – the southwestern most continent. In the north, near the Dafin ridge, is an odd crater where a meteor may have landed once upon a time. The crater has since become a wild life conservation over the years where many mythical creatures have chosen to call the place home. The Cremens are very protective of this crater and have based their culture about its existence.

Nation Name: Cremend
Ruler: TBD (This can be run by a player and if not, it will have a NPC)

Characters Residing: To be filled out later in the plot

3. Eidaes (sounds like 'Eighties') – the north midwestern continent protected by swamps and quicksand. The people here are the only ones who know how to navigate the country without succumbing to its natural defenses. The children are taught how to do so at an early age.

Nation Name: Eidaes
Ruler: TBD (This can be run by a player and if not, it will have a NPC)
Dominant Religion: Evolutionists

Trade Goods: Medicine, Herbs, Spices, Mushrooms, Clay, Wood, Paper, and Ink
Nation Symbol: (can be created by players)
Motto: (Can be created by the player who controls this nation or if you’re the only character a part of this nation lol)
Characters Residing: To be filled out later in the plot

4. Vanor (vah-nor) – A desert country in the mid-west. Vanor becomes the hottest place in Alta in the summer, and many of its people migrate south where the continent is still green and wet with water. Vanor is connected to Cremend and the Eidaes by a narrow bridge. It is on this bridge where a vast amount of trade is conducted. It is a neutral zone between the nations, and laws created by the three nations known as the “Tri-Laws,” govern the area.

Nation Name: Vanor
Ruler: Hannibal Barca (247 BC - 183-181 BC)
Dominant Religion: Church of the World Tree
Language: Vanorian (Whoever creates the language here will have to share it with players who join later. It doesn’t have to be a language. It can simply be a distinct dialect or accent)
Trade Goods: Medicine, Herbs, Spices, Mushrooms, Clay, Wood, Paper, and Ink
Nation Symbol: (can be created by players)
Motto: "We will either find a way or make one."
Characters Residing: To be filled out later in the plot

5. Vlumia (v-loo-mee-ya) – known for its rolling plains, in the northeast, Vlumia is nearly a completely green continent with the exception of the dry and cracked wasteland in the south. The weather is perfect in the spring and summer, never exceeding 70 degrees (21 degrees Celsius), but its winters are cold. The ice from the north creeps onto the continent as though threatening to encase it.

Nation Name: Vlumia
Ruler: TBD (This can be run by a player and if not, it will have a NPC)
Dominant Religion: 80% Church of the World Tree, 15% Evolutionist, 5% Zealots
Language: Vlumian (Whoever creates the language here will have to share it with whoever also has their character join the game later. It doesn’t have to be a language. It can simply be a distinct dialect or accent)
Trade Goods: Wood, Wine, Beer, Precious Ore, Coal, Seafood, Weapons, Ships (Land/Water Type)
Nation Symbol: (can be created by players)
Motto: (Can be created by the player who controls this nation or if you’re the only character a part of this nation lol)
Characters Residing: To be filled out later in the plot

6. Aiwren (aw-ren) – it is the smallest among the six in the southeast, but it is still not underestimated by its brother and sister continents. Aiwren is isolated and self-sustaining. It holds abundant resources. The people of this nation are known for being xenophobic.

Nation Name: Aiwren
Ruler: Julias Caesar (July 100 BC - March 15, 44 BC)
Dominant Religion: 80% Zealots, 15% Church of the World Tree, 5% Humanists
Language: Arn (or “Yarn”) (Whoever creates the language here will have to share it with whoever also has their character’s fruit wash up. It doesn’t have to be a language. It can simply be a distinct dialect or accent)
Trade Goods: They mostly trade with no one because they’re self-sustaining. Slavery is dominant in this country, thus why they keeps their business to themselves. There also several other shady inventions and experiments happening in this country.
Nation Symbol: (can be created by players)
Motto: (Can be created by the player who controls this nation or if you’re the only character a part of this nation lol)
Characters Residing: To be filled out later in the plot

The Zealots are a very small religion, but they can also be a problem at times. You can actually expect them to be anywhere in Alta.

There are several oceans, seas, gulfs, and rivers that can be named by players. There are also several islands and archipelagos that can be named. The northern and southern frozen regions can be named.

Finally, our most important geographical formation is an island in the center of the world where the World Tree Aenia resides.

The Myth

There are several interpretations about how the people of Alta came to be.

1. The first is that Aenia, the World Tree, was the first lifeform when Alta was first created. The tree grew into maturity and bore fruit that fell into the ocean and drifted about to the various continents. From this fruit were born three entities: man, beasts, and monsters. Those who follow this interpretation fall under the Church of the World Tree. The predominant religion on the planet.

2. The second follows the Church of the World Tree’s belief except these followers do not believe that man came from the tree. They believe that man evolved from the beasts and monsters, and thus gave birth to their love of conflict. This group is called the Evolutionists.

3. The third follows the World Tree belief except it feels that man has lost its way. Over the years as man chose to reproduce with others in its likeness, it has diluted the powers granted by Aenia. These people believe that those who first came from the fruit were gods who had phenomenal power. These believers are called Zealots. The Church of the World Tree finds them to be a greedy people always starving for power. Zealots are criticized to be willing to sell their own soul for a god fruit. They believe that if they consumed the fruit before it spawns life, then they will acquire the godly powers that man once had.

4. The fourth and second predominant religion is the -Ism. These people believe that neither man nor beast come from the tree. They believe that man and beast first came from the sea and evolved over time to be capable of surviving on land. When Aenia came about, her fruit brought the monsters that now plague the land. These people feel that the tree needs to be destroyed in order to save life on the planet.

These interpretations are ancient and some are young, having been created to influence and control the people.

Aenia

Aenia is a tree that was indeed born when Alta first came into natural creation. She is the largest tree in the world and can be seen at any point around Alta. The tree produces a fruit called The God Fruit, which gives birth to various creatures. However, over the centuries, she hasn’t been producing as many fruits as she had at the beginning of the age. Because of this, the -Ism interpretation was created. No one has seen a God Fruit in years. They are mere legends and tales. But then how are these nightmares born?

If a being of Alta or even a human being was to consume a God Fruit, which is taking the life of the being that would be, the most common side-effect is that being will undergo a mutation. The mutation commonly will transform that person into a grotesque and nightmarish creature. Rarer times, the side-effects may not be as horrendous. Even rarer, the being is transformed into an entity of great power, ie. a "god." However, the being's conscience is rendered unstable. Aenia curses those harshly who devour her unborn children.
Wait...so since we're starting over, should I scrap my intro post?

@Holy Soldier

We're not starting over. This whole game is getting a makeover. I wouldn't scrap the post. If your post was over 2000+ words then you must have put some fluff in there and you might be able to use elements of that post in the new version of this game. So just hold onto it.
