A B I L I T I E S Alcohol Manipulation - Bax can alter the alcohol content of any liquid. He cannot, however, magically alter the alcohol level of a substance that DOES NOT have alcohol in it at all (nor can he remove it entirely if present - only down to a mostly infinitisimal levels). This could of course easily be rectified, by physically adding alcohol. He also has an exquisite divine sense of taste, beyond the human and beyond his own (or anyone's) ability to verbally communicate. He has no 'book learning' regarding understanding the nature of taste, like with most things, and relies on his own rudimentary understanding and sense which is not inconsiderable on this one matter. Drunken Memory/Clarity; In much the same way as certain truths have a habit of coming to light in the presence of alcohol, heretofore forgotten key moments of Bax's past often come to light under the influence. Certain fine motor skills and dexterity often reach previously unthought of peaks after imbibing alcohol - whether it be playing pool or darts, or even something less structured as a fight. Cure/Induce Madness - Dance; Baxter loves to dance, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To any who have consumed alcohol, or deletarious substances, Baxter's dancing comes across as enchanting and even mesmerising the longer they watch, inspiring first joy, then ecstasy, then potentially even more messiness to follow. Prolonged exposure can result in temporary, or potentially even more permanent, insanity. To any who are stone cold sober, Bax's dancing looks like the bumbling of a crazy person. Not helped by the fact that he doesn't dance to the music that most people are actually hearing when he's dancing. Ecstasy Manipulation - Along with his love of dance, which factors into this as well, Bax has an innate sense for desire in tastes. It can be rather invasive for him to discover what exactly people desire at a given moment in those tastes. With a kiss, he can distinguish exactly what flavours and sensations a person would desire, and his understanding of taste provides foresight into how exactly to provide for those desires. In many ways he can have a better understanding of what a person truly wants than they themselves have, free of self-deception. Vine Manipulation - Bax, as the son of Dionysus, theoretically has the ability to control vines... he just doesn't know it, or how to do it. Afterall, how often does a person come into contact with vines in their daily lives to even think to try? S T R E N G T H S Dexterity when drunk - His hand-eye coordination when under the influence is bafflingly good. Implausibly so. Pain resistance/resiliance - Baxter is able to take a fair amount of punishment and keep smiling through like an idiot. Happiness even in the face of oblivion - It is incredibly difficult to shake Baxter's resolve and own self-satisfied joy. W E A K N E S S E S Unruly/scatterbrained - Baxter is almost impossible to wrangle, keep on path, and get to actually do anything linear or act with logic. Lack of sense of self preservation - Baxter moves and acts predominantly based on his own interests and basic desires. It's difficult to make him do otherwise, and he often doesn't see danger when there's something he wants to do. Sanity - Baxter may actually be insane. __________________________________________________________________________________ P E R S O N A L I T Y Joyful .... | .... Crazy .... | .... Enigmatic .... | .... Obtuse H I S T O R Y Very little is known about Baxter Marsh. He speaks english with a vague, non-specific accent, distinct to an unrecognised area. His mother is dead. It was not natural causes. He grew up in a care facility before she ever died, because he was very difficult to raise. The camp was brought to his attention and he kind of stumbled and bumbled his way there. Has no memory of how he got to the Camp, or for that measure most of his past, and being a joyful type who is very much focused on the present, doesn't normally dwell on such things. A B I L I T I E S Genius Level Intellect - Pallas’ finest weapon remains what sits between his ears. His intellect saw him gain admission to a school beyond his father’s means via scholarship. It also saw him survive, when others there felt he didn’t belong. His cool control, and ability to seize the initiative when those same people decided to prove it… saw him exploit their rashness and thrive. He excelled in all classes he saw as beneficial to his lineage and future expectations as a child of Athena – namely logically driven classes, mathematics, Latin, Physics, chemistry, classical history classes as well as physical education (where he looked to make the most of competitive environments). He’s long been driven and seen his life as one in pursuit of a set divine purpose, even if he’s not entirely sure what that entails. Superior Battle Strategy - Pallas is in an interesting position, having been bestowed with the knowledge of his line and feeling the considerable weight of a sense of purpose. He has focused his energy on logical pursuits, strategy games and even participated in various combat extracurriculars – including hand-fighting, jiu-jitsu, staff fighting and kendo. He understands leverage, uses his surroundings and terrain well and how best to maximise effectiveness with efficiency of movement. He will, plan, but understands that plans often don’t survive first contact with the enemy, and remains adaptable, should conditions prove beneficial. Intangibility - Has practiced his discovered abilities in a number of dynamic environments, albeit in solitude – He was told by both his father and mother that it was important he not reveal everything he’s capable of, for his own protection as well as his father’s. Even without his intangibility he is a quick and agile athlete – but with it, and his adaptive creativity, he moves with remarkable agility, even amongst demi-gods and monsters. Superior Lie Detection - Has a very good bullshit detector. Due to leading such a solitary life in pursuit of his own growth and development, whilst he has had less interaction with people to have honed this to the perfect implement of quite a few other children of Athena who are more social in nature, he was able to see through the attempted traps of very mortal classmates who wanted to mess with the new guy. Whilst he's lacked the socialisation to become a truly divine lie-detector, he is however good at divining hidden truths within people’s statements. S T R E N G T H S Combat training preparation - Whilst Pallas has no experience training with other gods, he has been aware of his divine ancestry and has been preparing himself for years, both mentally and physically. Level Temperament and Adaptability - As someone who is well aware that the best ‘weapon’ he’s always had at his disposal has been in his mind, he’s very good at remaining unflappable and set to task, taking conditions in his stride and immediately looking for situations to exploit. Intellectual Adept / Eidetic Audiovisual Memory - Picks up new skills fairly quickly, and understands and implements new information VERY quickly. His memory is almost perfect, if he hears or sees it and it seems pertinent to his situation. He does have to see the relevance in order to make that recollection though, like anyone. W E A K N E S S E S Cold - Because of his solo drive to better himself, he’s not a very social person. He doesn’t make friends easily and too often withdraws within himself. Makes his own problems HIS OWN problems. Good luck getting him to open up. Communication - Similarly, he’s an excellent strategist and thinks and adapts well on the fly… but he’s not really used to working with others, and is far more used to just relying and worrying about himself. It’s not that he’s callous or uncaring towards others, he’s just not used to having to plan, consider or think about them. Fear of Letting Go / Loss of Control - Because he’s always had so much emphasis put into the importance of his own mind, he doesn’t relax or let go easily. He’s sober as a judge and is terrified of the thought of being otherwise. __________________________________________________________________________________ P E R S O N A L I T Y Analytical .... | .... And in the honour of the dear friend that Athena herself lost that day so long ago, her argument was weak. Such ties to her could only endanger the boy, and her dear Walt. She sought to save him from his own love. “Words have meanings, Walter. When I was born of Zeus, it was said that I was born brandishing a weapon. A spear.” But his protestations held strong, and reverential. “But he is… look at his eyes.” And as Athena swaddled the boy who would come to be called Pallas, and told him in secret of the demands of his birth. She saw understanding in his golden eyes, and knew that the weapon of his mind was brandished from birth. Cut to twenty two years later, and the day he’d been training for was upon him.
