She was running. That's all she knew in that moment. One moment, she was having a nice relaxing bath, the next she was running through the woods butt naked, wondering how the hell she got there. Had she been drugged? Was the rest of her family okay? Where was she running to? She stopped after a few minutes of running, her mind racing with what to do. She hadn't seen a single damn building out here. Her next thought went to who would do this? Why would they do this? And where the hell were they now.
She continued walking, her feet cut by the forest floor and raw by now. Every step was painful, every step was starting to feel like her last. She wasn't built for this, for survival out in the woods with nothing but her birthday suit to protect her. She was going to die out here. As the thought hit her, she stopped, dead in her tracks and plopped down onto her knees to cry, sobbing after a moment.
Her tears pulled the attention of a man, just within earshot, who.. at first thought she might be some ghost. But against his better nature, walked closer to investigate. He hadn't planned on veering off course today, his mother would have surely punished him but he couldn't help his curiosity. It wasn't every day that the prince of his fair kingdom got the chance to explore out on his own like this, nevermind the fact that he'd slipped out unawares...
He approached the sound, still fully convinced he was going to be attacked by some foul witch or ghost trying to coax him closer, when he spotted her. She was hunched over in the grass and... completely naked?! He blinked, not really fully believing his eyes. But he couldn't stop his feet from getting closer from, trying to help her.
"..Miss? Are you okay?"
A fearsome king and loyal lover, Cuprite stands tall as the Leader of the Wildshape. For all it's inhabitants that come from every walk of life, every corner of the world, he fights to protect and improve their lives. He is not a dragon to take his work and role lightly and expects as much from his future offspring.
His best friend growing up was a dragon called Ambrose, a very energetic Pearlcatcher dragon. It was mostly unknown to him the animosity between the two breeds, but it became very apparent when he told his parents about his new friend, only be told to stop spending time with him. That only made the young dragon want to see his friend more. He needed to know what was so bad about his breed that his parents would openly demand he stop seeing him. Ambrose also had no idea as to why the two breeds had such disdain for each other.
"Why would anyone hate a Pearlcatcher? I think your pearls are really cool." Cuprite told his friend one day, huffing a bit at the idea of being mean just because of his breed. "Why wouldn't I think they're cool?"
"I'm not sure, honestly. I don't get why so many of my kind don't like yours. I asked my aunt and she said it's jealousy." Ambrose returned, shoulders shrugging apathetically.
"Well... I'm not jealous of any of the pearlcatchers! I think it's stupid to think like that." Cuprite huffed indignantly.
"And I'm not jealous of you. I can't really even think of a reason why I would be, you know?" Ambrose returned. "But... what can we do about other people? Not much."
"Well, when I'm older, I'm going to make my own clan where things like that don't matter. Where everyone is treated equally. I can't change everyone's way of thinking, but if you and I can think like this, the surely others can!" Cuprite huffed, sure of himself as he puffed his chest out. Nevermind the fact that he had no idea what it would take to lead a clan himself.
"That sounds nice... but I wonder if it's possible..." Ambrose sighed.
"Of course it is! Anything is possible if you put your mind to it."
Despite Cuprite's reassurances, he wasn't able to convince his friend to join him when he left their clan. The only person willing to join him was his sister, Raira. She was more than willing to leave, more out of a desire to be free from her parents than anything. Ambrose not joining him, didn't deter the young dragon. As soon as he was old enough to really grow into his wings, he approached his father and let him know of his intentions. As expected, the older dragon was none to happy to hear this, but respected his son's wishes. His mother, however, was less than happy and made several attempts over the course of Cuprite's preparations to leave to stop him and his sister.
Unable to sway Cuprite or Raira to stay, the two left and set off to find a space for their clan. They settled on the branches of the Behemoth, who branches held the Gladebough Village. Cuprite and his sister met their respective mates here among the other clans and convinced them to join them. Since then, they have welcomed dragons into their growing community. Cuprite rules their clan as "King" with a firm hand and a gentle voice. He allows dragons to enter freely and leave freely.
Dragons do have to be approved by his now trusted Advisors, a pair of Wildclaw dragons that had more than proven their worth protecting Cuprite and his family in the underbrush below the Behemoth. Amore and Aconite became a part of the Advisory Council that helped approve the acceptance of new dragons into their clan by helping them find a job/role within the community. Amore takes a larger role in helping to train old and new adult dragons to defend themselves along with his mate, Aconite.
Raira and her husband, Bercilak also help in guiding the community on the Advisory Council. Raira spends her time with her husband answering the questions of the clan in her brother's place so that Cuprite may spend his days working with other clan's leaders to build diplomatic influence for their clan and create healthy relationships with their neighbors.
One day, while taking a stroll through the forest with his mate, Cuprite noticed a small tuft of bright green fur poking out from the bush. It wiggled a bit as he approached. He called out softly, "Hello?"
His mate, Eden, perked her head up, now seeing the odd looking hair as well. And just as soon as she took a step to get closer, it seemed to pop out at her. She was about to lift a paw to claw at it in defense, when Cuprite lifted a paw to stop her.
The bright green tuft of hair had gotten herself stuck in a mess of tangled sticks and bramble. Her big bright pinks looked up at him and they swirled with an intense arcane energy. All he could think of was that it must have been painful, having so much magical energy in such a small body. Leaning down, Cuprite, gave the small deer looking creature a cursory sniff before moving to help her out of the brambles.
She huffed and stomped her hooves in protest, even though she knew deep down he was only trying to help her. Once freed, however, she pranced around him in glee, bounding cheerfully.
"That feels better, hm?" He chuckled, watching her until it made him feel dizzy. She paused for a moment, those big pink eyes watching him before she took a few steps closer to him, tentatively. Taking it as an invitation, Cuprite, bent his head down to her, to be a bit more on her level. At this, she slowly pressed forward until their noses touched.
Pink sparks seemed to literally fly in the space between their snouts, and Cuprite felt something shoot down his spine. His heart felt warm and suddenly he could her a voice...
"Hello? Hello? Can you hear me?"
The voice was soft, gentle and sounded very much like a young hatchling might.
"Yes... I can hear you..."
"Oh! Oh! Joy! That brings me so much joy! I think I would have been in those brambles forever if you hadn't come along." She chuckled, seeming to grin to herself. Her blue fur seemed to shimmer even more in the light of the sun as she stepped into a patch of sunlight.
"And you are...?" He asked, chuckling again.
"Hm? Me? I.. To be honest, I'm not sure what I am! I just.. woke up and started wandering around. And then I got stuck.. and then I met you!"
"My love... Just who exactly are you talking to?" Eden asked, a worried expression turning on her face as she watched him.
"Hm? You can't hear her?" He asked, confused.
"Oh, only you can! I'm your spirideer now!" She started, blinking for a moment. "Oh... I guess that just came to me... weird... But anyway, I bonded to you! Well, our hearts did." She explained, making a quick spin as sparkles of magic floated around her.
"My... Spirideer?" Cuprite started, blinking a bit. He hadn't expected a new companion today, much less one that bonded to him... But, here he was.
Raira had always been a free spirit. From the moment she was born, she had been contrary to her parents. It wasn't as if she lived to disagree with them, but she certainly had a mind of her own and nothing anyone said could dissuade her from doing what she wanted to do. Stubborn to a fault. The last thing Raira ever wanted was to be in charge of an entire clan but despite that, when given the opportunity to leave her little Lightning Clan to explore the greater world with her brother, she took it. Though, she hadn't anticipated he'd settle them down so quickly...
She still hasn't really forgiven him for that and regularly leaves the community to explore on her own. If asked, she'd explain that there was something inside of her, something that vibrated with an intensity she couldn't explain and the only solution was to fly free and explore at her own pace.
Raira didn't have many friends growing up, but the one she had was the truest friend she'd ever had. Pache, a male Fae dragon who despite being hard for her to understand, had become her closest friend and confidant. She could tell him anything and he would always listen with eyes that seemed to always understand her feelings. She'd often sneak him into her nest to hang out with her, since he was small enough to hide in her wings. The only person who knew about Pache was her brother Cuprite, who despite not understanding how she could understand or communicate with Pache respected her relationship with him.
Raira remembers a humorous moment when Pache and Cuprite misunderstood each other.
"...What? Why are you doing that?" Cuprite asked, his eyes narrowing as he watched the small white Fae dragon flutter around him, bouncing up and down from the ground wildly, his head frills moving and undulating.
"Raira!" The smaller dragon called, his voice high-pitched but utterly monotone.
"What about her?" Cuprite asked again.
"Birth! Birth!" Pache cried out, still trilling frantically.
"What?!" He asked, blinking. "Are you trying to say Raira has laid eggs? That's not even possible! She's too young!" He started, now frantic. "Oh god, how would we explain this to mother? Should we tell her? Do we have to?" Cuprite mumbled to himself, mind churning.
Pache visibly deflated a bit before starting back up again. By the time Pache spoke again, Cuprite was already running to find Raira. "Birth day! Birth dayyyy!" He cried out after the larger dragon.
Cuprite had found Raira by that point and a rather humorous exchange took place in which her brother, face impossibly red, tried to ask her if she had laid any eggs recently. Which had, in fact, prompted a rather red face from her as well. They had a rather long conversation about trying to learn how to properly read Pache's frills but that certainly wasn't the only time Cuprite and Pache had misunderstood each other.
When Raira arrived at the Gladebough Village, she met an incredibly handsome and sweet Imperial Dragon whom she fell instantly in love with. She spent the first few months they were in the village, following him around, trying to impress him with both her physical prowess and intelligence. He didn't seem interested at all at first. He often scoffed silently and turned his nose up at her, walking away. But after months of trying and trying, Raira was a few steps away from giving up on him completely when he actually responded to her.
"Bercilak! I found a pretty stone while hunting near the river that I wanted to show you." Raira called out, grinning as she dropped the stone at his table, where he was reading a scroll on the history of fighting tactics used by Ice dragons. She half expected him to completely ignore her and was ready after waiting a moment to pick the stone back up and turn away.
She watched him look up from his scroll, however, head raising just slightly as he looked at the stone. "It is.. very pretty.." He mumbled, glancing her away for the briefest of moments before looking back at his book.
From then on, Raira never left Bercilak alone and it seemed as though the younger dragon didn't mind. The true turning point in their relationship, however, came on a hunt Bercilak had accompanied Raira, her brother, and her brother's mate, Eden. The four were prowling the groves below the village. Eden and Cuprite split off, Raira assumed to go have some alone time. The thought alone made her incredibly jealous and she stuck her tongue out after her brother before continuing on. As she walked, however, she heard the roar of a dire claw.
It swiped at her and she barely managed to dodge out of the way. It felt as if everything moved in slow motion. The leaves in the trees seemed to still as she watched Bercilak leap out in front of her, fighting with the bear. He was severely wounded, but the young dragon did manage to hold his ground against the bear long enough for it to tire of them and run off. Worried, Raira raced to his side.
"Bercy, are you okay? Oh my goodness... Oh no... What am I going to do.." She cried out, tears streaming down her face. In her mind, his wounds had to be fatal, she just knew it.
"Calm down, little one..." He replied, his voice soft and even toned. It sounded as if he wasn't even hurt. Which, Raira had to admit had bolstered her mood considerably. Tears still streamed down her face but now, she felt like he would be okay, that it would be okay.
"Let me go get Cuprite!" She called out, starting to get up. She was stopped by Bercilak, who had grabbed her leg and pulled her back.
"Stay... He'll come back to check on us and I don't want you to be alone out there..." He grumbled, voice deep and now tinged with obvious pain. Raira could feel her heart breaking for him but she stayed with him, doing what she could. Cuprite did eventually find them and rush to help his sister get Bercilak back to the village for healing.
Since that moment, a sort of unspoken bond formed between Raira and Bercilak and they became mates despite never asking one another. Because of this incident, Raira spends a lot of her time researching healing salves and healing magic so that she never has to feel that helpless again.
"Ready for adventure? But of course!" She replied, twirling with her own dramatic flair. A soft smile grew on Sebastian's face as she did so. "I am Cassandra Flemming, I can do anything if I put my mind to it! At least that's what daddy told me." She continued. Sebastian nodded slowly, the smile not fading as she walked up to him. "Say, where will we go to first? I don't wanna go to any old human place. Take me to where the wild things are!" She finished, her voice loud and proud.
Sebastian sighed and resisted the urge to pat her head. He simply smiled at her, his eyes soft with affection. "If you're going to make me choose, we'll be staying right here, in the manor, and not go anywhere. So if you expect to go somewhere, I'm only meant to follow, not the other way around." He explained, raising a brow at her. Chuckling, he closed his eyes for a brief moment. "Mistress, you were reading late last night weren't you?" He asked, chuckling still.
I'm perfectly fine with stopping Lufu and Billie whenever, honestly. Because we could just say they had a good time at Eva, or however Lufu might react. I'll just let Apokalipse make the first post so that she can sort of recap what happened on Lufu's end. Something like that. So I'm good whenever. :D
Cyrus shook her head slowly at Jon's response, still turned toward Ken and Nolan. She still didn't quite know what to think of the two. Ken was like Jon in that he was friendly he just did it in a more... sophisticated way. And Nolan... He followed Ken around like a little puppy dog. He wouldn't be Jon's friend if Ken weren't so friendly with him. It's like the guy existed just for Ken. It was kind of... disgusting, in a way.
Still... Cyrus straighten herself a bit and gave a small bow to Ken and Nolan. "Same to you. I apologize for leaving so abruptly. I must have worried you." She told them, her face stoic and cold. It one didn't know, they'd think she didn't mean a single word she said, as if she was just acting. Which... wasn't far from the truth. She was acting, pretending to be someone she clearly wasn't. Yes, she was rather... calm in her own life but... She at least smiled then... But now... She felt no need.
This was business... This was war and she needed to be on high alert. At least until her brother regained consciousness... She didn't say anything further to anything Ken had said, preferring to keep to herself. While she liked Ken, she disagreed with his views on Knight and Noble relations. She'd much prefer to keep Jon by her side physically but at arms length mentally. She already have enough going on, she didn't need to worry about Jon trying to get into her head.
She turned to Jon when he began talking about an idea. Her eyes narrowed glaring at him. "And what, pray tell, is this idea of yours?" She asked, a scowl on her face. she remembered his last idea and she also remember what had happened to her in the end. Mainly, being left behind. That wasn't about to happen again.Nolan - With Everyone
A soft smile on her face, Nolan simply watched with a distanced expression. While she didn't exactly agree with everything Ken said in apology to them, she did agree with Cyrus. It was more his fault for up and leaving without telling them. She hadn't yet voiced it, but she was more than angry with the male for leaving their side so abruptly. Ken would probably push it aside, easily forgiving. Nolan was... not so forgiving of her roommate, or anyone else for that matter.
With Ken, he could do no wrong. But others... They pissed her off more than she could count. Though... She had to admit that she did like Jon. He was a nice guy if... a bit naive at times. But everyone was entitled to that. Nolan honestly envied him, being able to sit around lazily, not a care in the world. What she wouldn't give to go back to those days. Though, the last time she remembered doing that was a very, very long time ago.
Jon's voice pulled Nolan back from her distance memories, her eyes lighting back up. This could be good for Ken and bad for him as well, depending on what Jon was planning. "What do you mean?" She asked, a worried look in her eyes. She'd known Jon for a good while and she knew how unpredictable he could be, someone that moves on his own whims.
Her eyes flitted up to Ken, gauging his reaction to Jon's words. Excitement, tired, irritated...? She didn't know. She just knew that he was indeed tired and he probably wouldn't voice it to anyone. Depending on the idea, she might have to bullshit a way for them to get out of it because she knew he wouldn't dare.
“Yeah, sure. Why not? Are the stables that way?” Lufu asked before dragging the both of them in that direction. Billie was starting to get used to being dragged around like this. It was amusing, if a little annoying. But, she could manage. After all... They were going the wrong way. Chuckling to herself as the girl began to pull them towards the wrong exit, she listened to her words. So, she'd been here... awhile?
Billie blinked, a bit confused. How? Unless she was just exaggerating? Billie had no way of knowing. She would have preferred a more straightforward response. But... Maybe the girl wasn't very good with straight forward unless it was in going places...
"Uhm... Yeah. It's my second year here..." Billie told her, specifically leaving out the part that she was still in the low, low... low first year classes. She didn't need to know that.
Billie waited until Lufu had pulled her outside to point with her other hand in the direction of the stables, which were now a good distance around the side of building. "Go that way." She called out simply, not exactly raising her voice. There was a simple smile on her face, her eyes bright with amusement.
Cyrus let out a frustrated groan at Jon's words. Don't worry about it.
"I'm sure that someone who wants to attack me will do it in broad daylight, in the middle of a heavily guarded school." He said, sarcasm dripping from his mouth. "Really, Cyrus, it's like you don't like having fun."
I'm going to kill him...
Her eyes shot open as his hands came to her face, she half expected him to kiss her which sent her heart racing. It wasn't that she liked him or anything... Definitely not. She was just... shocked. Definitely shocked.
"I'd weawy appwecaithe ith ith you'd thop."[I'd really appreciate it if you'd stop.] Cyrus said through Jon pushing on her lips, her cheeks growing red. This was what she hated... He was so oblivious, as if he didn't have a care in the world. She found it rather irritating that one could be so careless. She'd much rather have a Noble like Ken who knew better. Jon thought he was invincible and Cyrus swore that if it didn't kill him, she would.
She pulled away sharply, a scowl on her face. "Knights and Nobles shouldn't be so familiar with each other." She told him curtly, turning her head away. As she did so, she noticed Ken and Nolan walking their way. Why had she even left them in the first place? To get irritated by Jon? She should just let him get his just desserts. He deserved it after all...Nolan - On Way To Courtyard of Saint Valerius
"Time is always up."
Nolan gave her poor friend a soft smile as if to apologize. She felt so bad for him... for the both of them. How badly she just wanted to tell him to sit back down... That it was okay if he wanted to go another round but... She let out an almost inaudible slow sigh, her heart aching.
When her eyes finally went back to Ken, she let out a loud snort of laughter at his face.
What a child!
"I should see if Jonathan wants to come with us, the icecream parlor is going to be adding SIX new flavors sometime next week. Cyrus too, obviously. Maybe he will crack a smile this time, I felt a bit bad for having just dragged him along for me to go talk with people... But those kids really did like that icecream I got them."
Nolan couldn't wipe the smile off of her face as he said this. It was as if he knew her heartache and how to cure it. The bastard. She didn't need anymore reason to fall for him. He needed to stop being so damned adorable. Especially since she knew the moment he got off of the train, a dramatic change would occur. She always hated that... Still, he'd already made her feel better. She just wished she could do the same for him. Maybe she'd steal him away tonight and they could watch the stars together like when they were kids. He'd always seemed to like that.
A small noise came out of Nolan's mouth as she agreed with him, a soft, warm smile plastered on her face. "I don't think Cyrus would have a good time anywhere we took him. The poor guy's such a... stiff." She explained as she stood.
The smile faded as she noticed Ken's face, his determination as he quickly turned and got off the train. With wide eyes, Nolan quickly followed. "You shouldn't do that! It's a bad habit. Always let me go first. I'd rather I see the bullet or gun first rather than the back of your head as you fall back onto me from some attack." She told him, her voice firm.
"I must apologize to Jonathan and Cyrus. Not only did I leave Cyrus alone to the point he managed to leave before us, we are also a bit late because I was talking needlessly. But I feel there is a lot of tension between them, something I am not sure if I can help remedy or not." He told her, turning to face her for the moment before walking off. As if he hadn't even heard her. She let out a bit of a frustrated groan and followed, trying to keep up with his pace.
As she walked next to him, her eyes were set on their surroundings, on alert now. She didn't honestly believe anyone would be after Ken but it was a good habit to form. She'd hate to be lost in her thoughts when someone decided to attack him. There were a group of girls just a few feet away from the gate, walking towards the school. She gave them a nod of her head and then attempted to go inside before Ken, only to get right beside him.
Damn his pace... He knows I can't keep up.
As they entered, she noticed Cyrus and Jon, both in the open area between the school at it's walls. Putting on a soft but reserved smile, Nolan waved at Cyrus who seemed to notice them. "Glad to see you made it back okay." Nolan greeted them as she and Ken walked up.
Kari, still not able to speak much more let the angel carry her back to her apartment. She wasn't even in much of a mood to notice the beauty of his wings, she was more irritated by it all in the end. Though, to be fair, the flight was quick... and frightening. For a girl that was already scared half to death, it was a bit much for her heart and the moment his feet touched the ground, Kari was up and stumbling up the stairs to her room. Not a single word to Katiel, not a single word to anyone or anything.
In a few hours her mother would come home... Tomorrow, class would go on like it always had. As if this whole thing were a dream. It kind of made her angry that she almost didn't want it to be a dream. All of that just to wake up angry and upset. She sat down on her bed, staring down at the floor. The scenes from the day playing over and over in her mind. the woman, the gun, the knife, Katiel talking to her on the bridge. His words as they left.
God isn't there for me. You are. Idiot.
She rolled her eyes and fell against her bed. Not wanting to talk to Katiel, even if he entered the house, she turned over her sheets and slipped inside her bed without changing. It took a while, but after much tossing and turning, she managed to let sleep take a hold of her."I'm off!" Melissa called out from the door. She smiled as she heard the familiar voice of Bill from the supply closet.
"Alright. You be careful now, Mel!" He told her, yelling so that she'd hear him. "Why do they always make you close up?"
Mel shrugged and continued out the door and to her car. It was late now and her daughter was probably either asleep, online, or playing games. The latter two probably true. She grinned to herself, chuckling at the thought of her daughter asleep with the controller in her hands. It had happened once or twice, the game still playing as the little avatar Mario slept on the screen.
She drove, trying to get home within the best time she could manage. She wanted to get to bed so that she could possibly get up by the time Kari was headed out for school. It was always her goal even though sometimes it didn't really work out that way. Especially when shit like this happens...
She stopped her car on a dime, the wheels screeched as she came within inches of hitting the woman standing in the middle of the road. Mel raised a brow, at first confused, and then lowered it, her expression turning into a scowl. She glared at the woman, clearly unhappy with what the woman had made her do. She rolled down her window and yelled at her, "You know! If you're looking to kill yourself, there are quicker and easier ways that don't have to make me feel like a killer! Bitch!" She screamed, uncaring of the woman's circumstances. She had no sympathy for people like this.
What she wasn't expecting was the woman's gun and the ominous sounding voice that came out of her mouth.
"Where is the N̓̉̈́̂͘e̊̇̓̍̎p̈́͂̍̇̕h̐͌͐̀̚ȉ̈́̓́͠l̀̍͂̈́̇i̛͋̄̑͛m̉̉̂̋͝?"
"Probably..." Alex began, a thoughtful expression on his face that the others couldn't see. "I guess necklaces..." He told them. Nevermind that behind his back he was slowly gathering leaves and twigs and such into his hands using a bit of pixie magic. Stuff like this didn't take very much, after all he wasn't going to make anything too complex. While he worked, he continued to listen to the other two.
They were both younger than him, thought not by much. Admittedly, Alex was a bit taken a back. From the way they acted, the seemed older. Still, his thoughts hadn't changed. Though... No. Age didn't matter. She was still the same person, his 'mother.' He swallowed hard, his thoughts conflicting with his heart. How could someone have feelings for a person that was supposed to be their mother? Maybe... He needed to seek elsewhere and leave these two alone. He'd always be there for Kathy but he didn't know if staying in this relationship for much longer would be good for either of them. For now, however, he would stay and finish what he'd started.
"Age doesn't matter... After all, I'm 19 yet I act like a 13 year old." He told them, grinning though they couldn't see. It was true, he didn't carry himself like a 19 year old. He was far too child-like in appearance, even when he appeared older. It was kind of funny when he tried to order alcohol in his adult form. They always gave him weird looks considering how he acted and how he looked. It was bad when a man that appears to be in his late 20s acts like a 13 year old.
Alex straightened when he heard Kathy whisper to him about the whole mother ordeal. A soft sigh escaped his lips as his age probably showed. He smiled and leaned down to give her a kiss on the cheek. "Later, Mom." He whispered back, smiling softly. He didn't want to ruin this moment. He'd talk to her later. Besides, this was good. Right?
He'd be alone again...
The grin still plastered on his face, a force of habit considering what he was trying to hide. "Baking? I'd love to try something of yours." Alex told her, his voice sounding a bit too... strained. It still held his bubbly tone but it just... was strained. The smile was slowly fading despite his best efforts to keep it there. His eyes, not his head, fell, watching the ground as they walked. "Yeah... No skipping out." Alex responded after Kathy, turning his head in an attempt to imitate what he'd done before. "It's not fair." He finished, his grin returning slowly.

Pache cried out, still trilling frantically.<br><br>"What?!" He asked, blinking. "Are you trying to say Raira has laid eggs? That's not even possible! She's too young!" He started, now frantic. "Oh god, how would we explain this to mother? Should we tell her? Do we have to?" Cuprite mumbled to himself, mind churning.<br><br>Pache visibly deflated a bit before starting back up again. By the time Pache spoke again, Cuprite was already running to find Raira. "Birth day! Birth dayyyy!" He cried out after the larger dragon.<br><br>Cuprite had found Raira by that point and a rather humorous exchange took place in which her brother, face impossibly red, tried to ask her if she had laid any eggs recently. Which had, in fact, prompted a rather red face from her as well. They had a rather long conversation about trying to learn how to properly read Pache's frills but that certainly wasn't the only time Cuprite and Pache had misunderstood each other.<br><br>When Raira arrived at the Gladebough Village, she met an incredibly handsome and sweet Imperial Dragon whom she fell instantly in love with. She spent the first few months they were in the village, following him around, trying to impress him with both her physical prowess and intelligence. He didn't seem interested at all at first. He often scoffed silently and turned his nose up at her, walking away. But after months of trying and trying, Raira was a few steps away from giving up on him completely when he actually responded to her.<br><br>"Bercilak! I found a pretty stone while hunting near the river that I wanted to show you." Raira called out, grinning as she dropped the stone at his table, where he was reading a scroll on the history of fighting tactics used by Ice dragons. She half expected him to completely ignore her and was ready after waiting a moment to pick the stone back up and turn away.<br><br>She watched him look up from his scroll, however, head raising just slightly as he looked at the stone. "It is.. very pretty.." He mumbled, glancing her away for the briefest of moments before looking back at his book.<br><br>From then on, Raira never left Bercilak alone and it seemed as though the younger dragon didn't mind. As she walked, however, she heard the roar of a dire claw.<br><br>It swiped at her and she barely managed to dodge out of the way. It felt as if everything moved in slow motion. The leaves in the trees seemed to still as she watched Bercilak leap out in front of her, fighting with the bear. He was severely wounded, but the young dragon did manage to hold his ground against the bear long enough for it to tire of them and run off. Worried, Raira raced to his side.<br><br>"Bercy, are you okay? Oh my goodness... Oh no... What am I going to do.." She cried out, tears streaming down her face. In her mind, his wounds had to be fatal, she just knew it.<br><br>"Calm down, little one..." He replied, his voice soft and even toned. It sounded as if he wasn't even hurt. Which, Raira had to admit had bolstered her mood considerably. Tears still streamed down her face but now, she felt like he would be okay, that it would be okay.<br><br>"Let me go get Cuprite!" She called out, starting to get up. She was stopped by Bercilak, who had grabbed her leg and pulled her back.<br><br>"Stay... He'll come back to check on us and I don't want you to be alone out there..." He grumbled, voice deep and now tinged with obvious pain. Raira could feel her heart breaking for him but she stayed with him, doing what she could. Cuprite did eventually find them and rush to help his sister get Bercilak back to the village for healing.<br><br>Since that moment, a sort of unspoken bond formed between Raira and Bercilak and they became mates despite never asking one another. Because of this incident, Raira spends a lot of her time researching healing salves and healing magic so that she never has to feel that helpless again.</div></div><br><br><span class="bb-b">Catch me on;</span><br><br>FlightRising - HylianRose<br>Pokefarm Q - HylianRoze<br>Discord - Ask!<br></div>
