Alex chuckled at Leon's reaction, her own shock melting into mild amusement.

"Sorry for the silence. i had not expected to see you again so soon."

Alex mocked a solute and bowed jokingly before taking a seat in a nearby chair, not bothering to wait for permission.

"Thank-you Kat, I can take it from here. She is incidentally the person who helped me a week ago from the attempted stabbing. Please tell any urgent phone calls I will call them back at my soonest discretion. That is all."

As he said this, Alex did another mock solute, but this time towards the secretary, giving her a playful wink. She chuckled again as the woman completely ignored her and walked on.

Seems about right. She mused, grinning at Leon. He seemed to have a lot to say so while he spoke, Alex kept silent, wanting to let him finish before she made him angry, as she usually did to everyone around her.

"Alex will do just fine, sir." She told him, producing a small smile. "Firstly, it's not good to see you again. Secondly, you're welcome. Thirdly, I'll call you Leon as I please, or you can fire me. I'll call you sir should I feel compelled to show you respect, otherwise I like to keep a familiar tone with my clients. It helps keep them from keeping secrets from me. I'll have you know secrets can be the death of you, Mr. Umbra." she continued, grinning at him pleasantly. She did not fear being fired in the least and it showed in her actions.

Bored of her current position, Alex hopped up from the chair and began lightly touching the many objects in the room, inspecting them both for any wires and any dust. "And yes, I have been following everything thus far. Your father left you a most lovely present and now I need to protect you from it while you figure out what you plan to do with it." She responded, trying to summarize everything her employer had told her.

"In order to show that I won't be the only one being upfront about everything, I'll tell you a small bit about myself." She began, hoping that the show of trust in him would cause him to return the favor. If she was to help him, she needed his full trust in everything, something people don't even give their spouses.

"I'm Alexandra Elizabeth Parish. My brothers call me Allie and everyone else calls me Alex. Please, call me Alex. However, if you feel that we are becoming close, I suppose I'll let you call me Allie. Just uhh... don't push it. I have 4 older brothers and no sister. My mother left our family when I was 5. I like cars, motorcycles, video games, and hand to hand combat although I have a pretty decent aim with a firearm should you like me armed. I have a dog named Banner, and yes he's named after Hulk." She rambled, trying to remember all the things she used to tell old clients. "Anything else you want to know about me?" She asked, looking up a Leon.

Oh most definitely, it analyzes structures and things it deems "supernatural." Normal physical abilities wouldn't be able to be analyzed.

Cool! That means I can pull shit out of my ass and be halfway correct. Woo!

But ye. If anyone has questions about powers, I would talk to both me AND the person who submitted the power.
<Snipped quote by HylianRose>

Well speaking as the guy who made the power. The limitation comes more in the amount of analysis required. The eyes are designed to analyze things, the power copying is just a useful side bonus in a sense. Theoretically you could do a perfect copy, but it'd take a while to analyze and process the information to know how to do it. And yeah you can only copy one power at a time. Plus it's not like you can just analyze the user, you have to actually see the power in action and observe it for a little bit of time, getting hit would obviously speed up that process but then you would have to get hit with the power.

Let me know if I'm not being clear on something though.

Makes perfect sense to me. So, are you in agreement with only being able to copy super abilities then, I presume?
<Snipped quote by HylianRose>

Not going t be able to get a post up today, Mother's Day and all that. Quick question though, does Third Eye only work on other Super abilities or will it work on mundane skills (I.e. Languages, Carpentry, being amazing at Mortal Kombat...).

I presume that the limitation is that you can only mimic one skill at a time? So if Gareth is in a tussle and decides he wants to copy his foes ability, he'd forget all the Mortal Kombat combos?

I'm going to say that only super abilities can be copied and when he copies them, he won't be perfect at them. You can sort of imagine it like getting a new super power every time you want but suddenly not knowing what the hell you're doing with them. His body will know what it's doing, but he, himself, won't. Sort of like a child who doesn't know his own strength. Though it won't be like that every time. Let's say he really likes Soleil's Sound ability and like to copy that from her, after a while he could be pretty adept at her skills (he could never reach the same full potential that Soleil will be able, but he could be decent at all of things).

Does that make sense? (Not just talking to Nev here. Feel free to call me out on bullshit or something.)
Criston

Criston sighed as he straightened his tie and brushed his hair. He hadn't felt this down since his mother told him she wasn't going to throw him birthday parties anymore. Then again, he almost felt guilty for feeling this poorly about it. It wasn't like anyone had really wronged him... He just... felt down.

Which was odd for the usually upbeat warlock. Very... odd.

Knock, knock

Criston jumped slightly at the sound intruding on his thoughts and turned as the door opened and a young woman stepped through. She was small framed and in oriental clothing. She stepped in without a word and walked over to Criston. He lifted his hands as if she meant to attack him and flinched as her hand shot out, holding a letter.

Blinking, Criston finally realized the small girl wasn't going to attack him with anything and he took the letter from her hand, his brow furrowing.

Criston!

Sorry for leaving you to handle things on your own. I've got some important mommy things to do, yanno. Ayane, the girl with this letter, is your new fiance. Since the Fey Queen poofed on us, here's the Merking's daughter, well... one of them. She can't talk, so look out for her, would ya? I don't know what the King would do to us if his daughter had a bad time at this party!

<3 Maria

Criston crumbled up the letter, scowl on his face. Holding back a groan, he threw the note in the trashcan and turned to look at the girl. Ayane, hm?

"Ayane?" He asked and the girl looked up at him like a deer caught in headlights before nodding slowly. Criston sighed and looked down at her. "You know of the party, I assume?" He asked and got a nod in return. Smiling at him, Ayane walked up to his and took his hand, holding it in her own. He blinked, taken aback by her sudden movement. When she took her hand away, in his hand he found a opalescent shell with a string strung through it.

Ayne motioned for Criston to place the shell around his neck, mocking the motion with her own hands. Criston sighed and pocketed the shell, responding with, "Maybe later. Come on, we'll be late." With that, Criston walked briskly to the ballroom and they arrived just in time to see a young boy walking up to Carmen to talk to her.

Criston nodded at Carmen in greeting and then led his burden to the other side of the ballroom where he spoke with the DJ about the music for the night, ignoring the small girl beside him who simply stood and stared at him.

Lily

"This sucks..." She groaned as she fell back against her chair, staring at the choices in dress before her. She wanted to look good for Carmen but at the same time she didn't think a rather racy looking red dress in front of her son. But if she wore the usual white dress, Carmen would give her grief.

She rubbed the bridge of her nose and closed her eyes. After a few moments, she reached her hand out and snagged the white dress. Carmen was already hers, it wasn't like she had to impress her.

Moments later, Lily was dressed with her hair braided down her back, a trick she'd learned from Carmen and was out the door, her heart pumping for the meeting with Edric. It wasn't like she was the best mother in the world, she didn't exactly know how to be one.

Maybe it was best if she just... didn't. Would it be better if she didn't try to be his mother and make up the time they'd lost? Would it be weird if she tried? She didn't know.

Before she knew it, she was walking in behind Criston and a strange girl he was with. She raised a brow at the sight and then raised one at Carmen as if asking what she knew but then she noticed Edric. She forced a smile and waved at the boy before walking over to them.

"Good evening, you two." She greeted them, picking up a glass of wine from behind Carmen and resisted the urge to chug it.
I'll be making a Criston post soon.
Not long enough...

Penelope sent the rather loud cowboy an awkward smile before responding to him. "Nothing much, Clint." She replied before putting her cigarette out and throwing it away. She sighed as more of them arrived, the first of which was Lux who, as usual, arrived quietly like she liked. Penelope had to admit, the quiet ones were always pretty nice.

Penelope stood awkwardly for a few moments as the others started piling around and suddenly began feeling claustrophobic. She hit Eastwood with a playful bump to his shoulder as she went in, and managed to pull a hair ruffle on Acheri before heading inside without a word.

As she opened the door, she was assaulted by a certain... aroma. "Rohrbach?" She called out, her voice nasally as she was now holding her nose. To say it was odd was an understatement. It smelled like mold mixed with sweat and vinegar. Not exactly the most appeasing smell.

"Any reason it smells like something died in here a few months ago, Doc?" Penelope asked as she walked further into the lab. As she reached the kitchen, the smell began to penetrate the hold her fingers hand on her nose and threatened to cause her stomach to lurch forward. Shaking her head, she decided not to investigate and elected to head for the lounge area and began to put a pot of coffee on.

---

Rohrbach stood in the kitchen, leaning over his latest concoction. At this point, even he didn't know what it was anymore. He was simply staring at it, trying his best to figure out where it all went wrong and honestly debating eating it anyway. His stomach growled as he hesitantly grabbed at the mass of organic mess on his plate.
