Desktop profile login won't work. Coincidence that Windows 7 is no longer supported on same day? Consider me doubtful.

I'm having way too much fun with my Legend of Zelda Encylopedia. This is the game that got me into roleplaying so have a lot invested in it's lore and stories. Too bad can't have all the games too.

Bump
I might have to create my own servant at this rate. Well might as well bump it in any event.
@unicorgi

Just wanted to clarify the fighting system I have in place. For the most part I'm leaving the fights up to the actual players, that way one doesn't have to wait for me to respond all the time and it is easier to make engaging fight sequences. To help guide the fights though I have created this ~Flow~ system to give you guys the information necessary to make things shine. If there is one thing I have seen in my years of role playing it is how easy battle based games can crash and burn if there is no real structure to the battles, certain characters can steal all the glory, people are unsure of when to finish a fight, or else just get bogged down waiting for other people or the GM to respond.

My hope is that through this system it gives everyone a good idea of how a fight should go, how long it goes, but also allows the players to, for the most part, control the fight as they want so they don't have to wait for me to move all the little pawns. When there is a story event or character, like an Evil Boss that can directly change the course of a fight without you being able to prevent it, you'll have a heads up so you won't be completely taken unaware.
@unicorgi@ERode@Seirei No Hai@Black Keys@vancexentan OOC is Up! Head over, type up your profiles, and review the new Battle ~Flow~ section which has very important information.
Fate/Counter Force

The Church's Burial Agency has had one of their sealing chambers ransacked under the cover of an earthquake and a powerful vampire, a Dead Apostle Ancestor has been unleashed upon the world once again. The church has given her the title Echidna, Mother of Monsters. This powerful vampire has been sealed for thousands of years and if left alone has the power to wipe out humanity. The burial agency is already on the case but due to the vampire's unique nature of being able to 'birth' offspring such as phantasmal beasts, they are having great difficulty in recapturing Echidna. Realizing they need more firepower the church has grudgingly reached out to the Mage's Association for assistance in their war.

Knowing that such a powerful being left on the loose could devastate the world, The Mage's Association has decided to lend their aid. Considering the threat is credible enough to bring about the end of humanity, the Mage's Association has realized that the counter force should come into play because of this threat, but instead of just letting it work it's way naturally the Mage's Association has decided to try and tap into the Counter Force to control it themselves. Their hope is that they can limit the amount of damage and exposure a 'natural disaster' might cause by wielding the scalpel themselves.

The Mage Association intercepts the counter guardians with a ritual of their own and summons them as servants to do battle with the Dead Apostle Ancestor and her forces. At the moment the church has tracked the Dead Apostle Ancestor to southern France where they believe she has started to rebuild her strength.

Basic Knowledge You Should Know
  • Playable characters are Mages, Church members, and Counter Guardians/Servants
  • While the Counter Guardians are contracted as servants as this is not a Grail War all servants regardless of class have independent action as a skill. Basically they can act independently.
  • Those given servants have the traditional command seals to help them control the counter guardians.
  • Only three servants are available as there is not enough magic to sustain any more than that.
  • Servants with a Divine spirit origin, such as gods [ex. Artemis] and half-gods [ex. Gilgamesh] are not summonable.
  • Don't worry if you are not too familiar with the Nasuverse as a whole, the thing's a jumbled mess anyway so just think of it as Fate but with Vampires.
  • This will be a PvE roleplay, though PvP could occur if desired among individuals but PvE will always take priority.
  • A Dead Apostle Ancestor is a powerful vampire that often has its own cult following. The 'servants' of such a vampire can be familiars, dead apostles[vampires], the dead, and in this particular case, magical beasts and phantasmal beasts.
  • While the church is great at handling the undead, because most of their equipment is better suited for holy warfare they are having trouble with the magical and phantasmal beast. As some phantasmals are simply too strong to be killed normally, servant's noble phantasms or powerful artifacts are often needed to finish the job.
  • Blood and gore will be present in this role play so fair warning beforehand.

Battle ~Flow~ System

In order to help you create more intuitive fighting scenes I will be using what I call the Battle ~Flow~ System. When a battle commences I will instruct you as to how the battle should proceed. Usually I'll try to put up the combatants, particular skills of the enemy you need to know about that you can incorporate into the fight, and what kind of a fight should happen. If it is a bunch of weaklings I might designate them fodder and just allow you guys to wreck them, but maybe there is a strong enemy among them that is an actual challenge, so I'll designate them as a challenge, so you'll need to write a decent fight when you are engaged in combat.

So there are three main criteria that will dictate how a fight should go, difficulty of the opponent, the 'phase' of a fight, and fight length.

Opponent Difficulty:
Fodder - Enemies that even weak mages should be able to defeat without too much effort.
Challenge - Opponents that can put up a decent fight and you'll actually have to work to defeat and be careful around.
Deadly Monster - These high level threats usually have some nasty skills, such as mystic eyes, that could easily kill you if you are not careful, you will have to fight for your lives to just survive.
Evil Boss - These cheap devils have myself directing their moves and can cause havoc with devastating skills and at times can be downright unkillable if certain conditions haven't been met.

Fight Phases:
Beginning - The fight has just started, start trashing those fodder and get prepared for the harder opponents.
Middle - The fight is getting quite intense, blows are going back and forth and the tide is turning in one direction or the other. The threat level is usually the highest at this point in the fight and the writing should reflect that.
Climax - The end of the fight has come one way or the other, perhaps a massive upset, maybe the opponent manages to sneak away, or maybe the final strike is struck against the foe, perhaps you are even forced to retreat just to survive. Either try to figure out who gets to finish the fight or I'll just choose depending on how the fight went.

Fight Lengths: If it happens to be an individual fight you just take out the per person part.
Short - 1 to 2 posts per person, pretty much just beginning and ending phases in the fight, or even just the ending phase.
Medium - 3 to 5 posts per person, will follow the Fight Phases up above.
Epic - Usually reserved for the toughest of battles and story sequences there is no real cap for these so can last for quite a while. Follows the battle flow system very closely.

@vancexentan The character sheet looks fine, though not going to actually accept anything until I can get up the actual thread. Don't have much time because of work right now, my earliest guess would be this weekend.
@Black KeysHmm, well I have no real qualms against the premise itself, course will still need approval but give it your best shot.

@vancexentan@unicorgi@Seirei No Hai@ERode Character sheets up for your mind's pleasure. Feel free to make it spify looking if you so desire.
@vancexentan In general the age range would be 20+, unless there are some real special circumstances neither the mages or the church are going to send idiotic teenagers into battle, especially since masters aren't randomly chosen this time around.

@Black Keys I see so they are trying to find a way to control the inversion impulse in order to create their own weapon that they can control at will. Hmm well it could work, but as that character has monster blood that character certainly wouldn't be chosen as one of the masters as they would be too afraid of what could go wrong and certainly the Church wouldn't approve of that much power put together either. Of course I'd still have to approve it, but saying outright such a character will not be an eligible master.

Well I'll try to get a character sheet up tomorrow I hope, too tried tonight.
Ah, this looks like something quite interesting! I have a character prepared that might be fitting for this, but I must ask before I app them... how fine are you with mixed-breeds?

Just to clarify are you talking about making a character like Akiha who has Oni blood? It really kind of depends on what type of mixed-breed you're talking about. Also how dare you remind me of the days of the Black Keys...dark times indeed...

I haven't read Tsukihime but I'll throw my hat in the ring. Are our masters, and servants strictly OC's or do we summon the actual heroes? If so what's the limit on them?

Tsukihime is...eh I can kinda see why a lot of people consider it the black sheep of the family but the ideas and lore inherent in the actual story is interesting. Also Kara no Kyoukai too which is great but even further removed from Fate than Tsukihime is in my opinion. Anyway, while masters will be strictly OC, servants do not have to be, technically anyone in the Throne of Heroes can appear in any reality if summoned so even though this will be an AU universe all the servants you know can appear. If you go the OC route with a servant I will have to be rather picky with them though.

As for limits there are several. Since there is no Holy Grail, despite tapping into the counter force the available magic for these servants is limited, which in turn limits the available servant pool. No extra classes will be available, only the original seven classes. Otherworldly servants like Ilya and Ryogi[who technically isn't even a servant anyway] will not be summoned. Those with completely game breaking abilities like Gilgamesh with all the world's noble phantasms or Hercules with his nine lives are too powerful to summon. Servants that are literally Gods like Artemis and Ishtar cannot be summoned. Demi-servants/Pseudo Servants will not be summoned. Alter servants are not summonable.

Do I need to know literally anything about this to join?

Cool [totally historically accurate*cough cough*] summons fight along mages, church members in impractical garb with big pointy objects, to fight overpowered vampires and other beasties. Think that about covers it.

Ok there are some things you should know like what exactly a servant is but do yourself a favor and don't delve too much into the actual lore or you'll probably just confuse yourself.

Oh and apparently King Arthur was a woman. XD
Fate/Counter Force

While it has Fate in the title I want this one to be more of a combination of Tsukihime and Fate. There is a whole lot more to the Nasuverse as a whole than just the fate side so I want to take advantage of it. Servants will be a part of the story but they are not the central players here. There is no Holy Grail War.
