I really appreciate your honesty @XecutionerRex. In all honesty, I would rather you did not begin if you know you're not going to be able to keep up in the near future. The problem is if you begin and we just end up having to skip your character round after round (assuming the pace of the IC moves fairly quickly) then it will almost have been pointless for you to start in the first place. Again, I appreciate the honesty as there are a lot of roleplayers that join RPs and then just disappear without saying a word.

However, because of said honesty, when your situation is worked out, if you'd still like to join this RP then PM me and I'll work you in.

The best way to do it, I think, would be either a group PM or an outside chat source like pirate pad or some such. I think people may be waiting until the RP begins to see what creatures I have in mind already. Don't worry, it's really early, you don't have to rush it @OneWayOut lol

Good questions first of all. You are correct on the combat system in that only attacks that hit will cause HP loss. However, I will be controlling NPC enemies so you only have to worry about your own character's actions. How a hit is determined depends upon the type of enemy, the weapons they are welding, the type of armor the player character is wearing, and things of that nature. Battle is meant to be a dangerous affair so expect to take some damage during encounters.

I think I would consider that light armor. If heavy armor is full body plate, then light armor could definitely be armor on only certain areas of the body. No armor is just that--no armor whatsoever.

Finally, I like the idea for a warrior-priest order of sorts. Keep in mind though that magic is still poisonous so the scale and frequency of use could have serious repercussions on the members of this order. Depending on how you create it though, it could work.

Okay, now that Bliss has sent me her confirmation, I'll have my post up tonight when I get off work. I hope everyone who is still here is prepared as well. As of tonight, I can say the story really begins.

I've added a new section to the OP titled "The World of Zenith". Check out that section for info on how to get things you create added to the world.

I'm about to head out to work, but I'm also letting everyone know that I'll have my own character up tonight when I get off. I'll be around to answer questions and PMs via smartphone during the day so you can still ask anything you need to and PM me your character sheets as you complete them. Once we have a certain number of approved sheets, I'll close the RP to new members and we'll begin the IC. For now though don't worry, there's no rush, take your time with your character creation. If you'd like some of your characters to know each other prior to the beginning of the RP, you can work that out amongst yourselves as well as I have no problem with that.

How creative are we allowed to get with our weapon choice?

Can I draw inspiration from the Bloodletter Weapon in Bloodborne or is that too "fantastic" for the setting?

That's actually a good question. While this roleplay is intended to be more grounded than your typical fantasy, I do want to allow creativity to flow through (especially since there are supernatural elements at play). Go ahead and play out your idea and I'll go over it when you PM me your CS. The only aspect that really matters is the weight and material. If the weapon is really big or made of heavy materials (which in turn connect with other materials in order to transform the weapon somehow) I'd expect you to know that your character will be slow in wielding such a thing. We'll see what happens once I see it.
