@KahleenCuthald All those things are certainly possible and doable. The way I envision Dillon, however, is much more counselor /yes, feel free to think Deanna Troi / and far less shrink that puts people on ice type of character. She would be all about healing and compulsory mental checkups in my mind don't usually yield any results as a person needs to be open for the healing to commence.

Of course there might be scheduled meetings with her at equal intervals, like monthly or be-monthly. And as you said Doctor Wolfe might decide to send someone Dillon's way.

Mostly Dillon would aim to aid the ship's crew and not obstruct missions and such, but if she deems someone unfit for active duty it would stand to reason that she had the authority to 'ice' them. Or at least make the captain do so.

Her door would be open to whoever whishes to talk to her even if not in her counselor capacity. Also, if someone wanted to train in Aikido and Wing Chung with her, that would be okay too

@Erklings25 Okay... I've listed Dillon as 'new on the ship' and posted her in the CS tab. Now I wonder what would be the best way to insert her into the action. I figure the meeting is almost over by now, so I'm opened to suggestions?

Appearance: Dillon is unmindful of her looks. She believes firmly that ones inner beauty or ugliness always shows itself making the most physically attractive person look utterly vile if they have a nasty personality. And respectively a generally unappealing person physically would look absolutely captivating when their inner goodness shines through. With that in mind she dresses casually, relying on comfortable jeans and tops as well as well worn boots.

Personality: Dillon is a calm and observant person. She is a good listener and has a way about her that would invite people to reveal themselves to her even though often times they are not sure why they are doing it. There's a warmness to her that is appealing and enchanting. It draws people in and makes them feel safe, protected. She is good at seeing the merit in multiple sides to a story. This trait makes her a good mediator. She will always step in and advocate talking things through rather than resort to violence.

Strangely enough Dillon is somewhat shy when it comes to romantic liaisons, flirting and the such. She would get bashful and tongue-tied when approached by suitors and is almost completely incapable of making the first step in flirting and wooing scenarios. Few people know her after this initial stage and every last one was stunned to discover the contrast between bashful, self-aware flirting Dillon and self-assured, assertive in-relationship Dillon.

There is a balance to Dillon that few people are able to achieve. It comes from her spending hours upon hours studying people and even more so - in self-study. Dillon meditates regularly and spends many hours in self reflection. For she contends that she cannot do her job properly and be expected to understand people and help them, if she doesn't understand herself first. Helping her achieve her inner balance are the two ancient martial arts she's been studying and practicing since she was little - Wing Chung and Aikido.

All of those things combined make Dillon a very centered person, calm and difficult to act rashly. That doesn't make her an emotional robot however. She is extremely empathetic and very attuned to other people's emotional states. It is only that her character allows her to analyze a situation from an almost detached position when she needs to circumnavigate the harmful effects of some emotions. Her warmness is never a tool to be used to lure a patient in. It is her natural state of being. Just as the somewhat detached analyzing demeanor is more attributed to her professional persona.

Okay... I went through the first page of posts in the IC. I definitely think Dillon needs to be a new addition. There are some interesting interpersonal relations within the group she would have been all over, had she already been on board for some time.

However, since it's way past my bedtime and work is never easy when one is sleep-deprived, I'll finish the IC tomorrow and perhaps inquire into how she would get aboard the ship.
