Alley Behind the Bank

Before Chroma's green paint would've incapacitated Blackout a random person appeared and grabbed the criminal, teleporting away in time to avoid the incredibly heavy liquid. This immediately infuriated Chroma. There's a fifth one!? With a grumble he formed another glob of green paint, preparing to fling it in the direction he believed Serephina was in before suddenly the teleporting man reappeared again. He was clearly trying to rescue the invisible girl as well. Normally stepping on the blue paint would result in a tumble, but it seemed the teleporter either knew physics or was lucky enough to get the idea that just standing completely still and balanced while teleporting would keep him from kissing the floor. Either way Chroma didn't wait for him to just leave with the other cape. "Don't want to spend time in the Birdcage, do ya!?" Chroma shouted at him before flinging it at him. Of course Greed was able to teleport out of the way, but Chroma continued to barrage him with green paint until he finally stopped appearing. The alleyway was mostly blue but now had many various green splotches all over.

After a moment of silent rage Chroma finally negated all the paint in the alleyway. But he very specifically didn't negate the blue paint that had gotten on Blackout, Serephina, and Greed. While the white bills would return to color once they truly got away, the paint they had stepped or fallen in would not. Greed would only have it on the bottom of his feet, where he could take off his shoes if he didn't want to fall down every time he tried to move. Blackout had it the next worst, as it was along his feet, pants, and one side of his torso. He'd have to strip down and probably even wash his hands if he ever wanted to stop slipping. Serephina was in a similar state to Blackout, but due to having fallen into the paint in a tumble rather than a straight fall she had much more of it covering her. She would also have to find new clothes and probably even wash her face and hair if she wanted to truly get rid of it. While Chroma couldn't stop them from escaping he would at least cause them further inconvenience. No matter how far they were teleported away they would have to deal with the blue paint themselves.

"Mover cape on scene. He teleported the other capes to another location. Stranger also confirmed, capable of being invisible. Five capes confirmed, wouldn't be surprised if there was more. They got away with the money," Chroma began relaying into his earpiece communicator. From the corner of his eye he saw the bright figure of Scourge entering the alleyway since it was now devoid of paint to hinder him. "The money was put in a white van. It left the back alley approximately a minute ago, set up a perimeter around the district to find it. Wherever the Mover went won't matter because they'll have to regroup at that van to get all the money." With his information relayed Chroma finally turned to face Scourge. The pain was still throbbing in his head, but in a way he was getting used to it. The severity hadn't toned down yet but Chroma was a stubborn person and wasn't about to just let this Master beat him in his own mind. But in the meanwhile he was not only in pain but in a terrible mood. "Let's go! We aren't going to let them just walk all over me like that! Blackout's Crew are within our grasp! And nobody makes Chroma look bad!" Chroma bolted down the alley in the direction the van had initially went, largely uncaring if Scourge was going to follow or not. He just knew that he could beat all of them in a fight, they just had to stop running and it would be his assured victory.
Well if Eos can recharge it then yeah it won't be super easy. Drawing out the power won't shut it down if she can charge it infinitely, as infinite energy beats drain every time.

But it would let him power up I suppose.
At this point I've stopped keeping track of the cards people are gunning for. Thank god for Dana's middle finger card <.<

I only kept track of four. Simple enough for even me.

Though, I still need to come up with something for Erisa...
@KoL Yeah, Eos is gonna really not like Gil. He doesn't care too much about robots but he's pretty much the bane of their existence. Machinery are kinda easy for him to cheese, and apparently Eos doesn't like other robots being defeated either.

Also pretty sure he'll cheese that war machine if nobody else can defeat it before he gets there. Might be best, story-wise and interaction-wise, if others banded together to break it before Gil moseys up to it. It'd be real anti-climactic if they just waited for the robot-grinder to arrive, though they wouldn't really know that there was a student among them that could fare so well against this machine army.

On another note, @Angel Eyes it is team LJGH, there is no T for there is only four in it. You even came up with the name yourself you dork. And yes they will be pulling the King cards. It seems that both @Lmpkio and @TheFourthIV are gunning for the King of Pentacles, you've claimed the King of Cups, and I'm shooting for the King of Swords. That just leaves the King of Wands for our other two compatriots to decide.
Gil

Makoto had been jumpy at first but it seemed that she was quick to warm up to Gil. He knew that he would often come across as intimidating though he didn't think she would be so quick to assume he was an enemy. Perhaps she had ran into someone before who tried fighting her? Either way Gil didn't feel like it would be necessary to attack other students over an exam like this. Before she would accept his handshake, however, Makoto decided to inspect the deactivated drone and found it had a tarot card. She was initially joyed but Gil maintained a straight face, an aura of anger layered in his body language. Makoto was quick to recognize it and grew visibly nervous but after a brief, tense moment it all changed.

"Hahahahaha!" Gil burst out laughing, putting his left hand on his stomach as he tried to contain his laughter. It likely seemed particularly odd to Makoto, considering how stoic Gil had been up to this point. After a few seconds of wheezing as he tried to regain his breath, Gil stood back upright and put both his hands at his waist. "Oh wow. I never thought to check out the drones. I wonder how many tarot cards I just completely passed..." His stoic expression was gone as he kept an upbeat grin, half-attempting to guess how many dozens of drones he had dispatched so far. After an exasperated sigh he brought his gaze back down to the girl in front of him. "You can keep that card. There's enough time left for me to get another one. If the machines carry some cards then it'll take no time at all to get another."

Even after getting the laughter out of his system his emotionless expression did not return. The tension was properly broken and now he was also in a good mood. After one final chuckle he rested his left hand on his gun again and took a brief look around. "I suppose I'm just gonna keep heading towards the other end of the city. Makes the most sense to me that I'll find more of these robots to beat in that direction. But I guess you've got no reason to not just make a bolt for the exit now, huh." Gil began walking again, passing Makoto as a spark flicked across his torso. "I don't mind if you want to stick around with me for a bit. If the drones almost got you then perhaps staying with someone like me makes for a pretty easy tour, wouldn't ya say? Besides, I could use another pair of eyes to find another one of these cards." There was the sound of battle nearby, somewhere in the direction Gil was walking, but he seemed either unfazed by it or he somehow didn't notice the gunshots and explosion. "It'd be a little embarrassing if I walked the entire time and didn't end up getting into the Academy. That'd just make me look like an arrogant failure or something."

Erisa

Much to her surprise it was another Youkai that she had heard making all that noise. And she also had a similar experience with the drones and getting hurt. While Erisa was glad she found company she was slightly dismayed that Gyuuki wasn't a human. But perhaps that was a blessing, because as much as she wanted to learn about humans it would probably be a distraction in this ruined city populated with killer robots. At least the ox-demon had some water, allowing Erisa to start recovering from her wounds. There were some good upsides to her plant-like biology. It made her wonder how her body would react if the Crimson Sky were to go away and the sun were to shine again...

But that was a thought for another day. The two girls navigated through the abandoned mall, though Erisa believed it was something like a gathering place for humans in the old world, but had to take a few alternate routes to avoid more drones. When they got to the parking garage Erisa took a moment to look out over the city. "Oh hey, it's easier to see up here," she remarked. "The finishing line is that way." As she looked back to Gyuuki to see if her new friend was looking where she was pointing it would seem that another one of the dog robots decided to attack, slashing the poor ox-demon across the back. Erisa fired a quick Zetsu arrow from her bow but the drone dodged. Thankfully Gyuuki wasn't too hurt and managed to get rid of the robot by knocking it off the garage. Sure, Erisa could've fired more shots or even used her Twin Dragons, but Gyuuki was between her and the drone and she didn't want to hurt her new friend.

"You seem pretty strong, you just got cut bad and was still able to pick that thingy up," Erisa complemented her, running back to Gyuuki's side to see if she needed help moving around. The flower spirit felt a bit guilty that she couldn't directly heal the ox-demon like Gyuuki had done for her, but she realized that there was probably other ways she could make up for it. "We still need to find those carrot cards... I mean tarot cards. Tarot. Yeah. Do you know what they look like, by the way?" she asked as the two headed down the ramps to the bottom floor of the garage. "I know cards are small pieces of paper. I think..." As they reached the exit of the garage that led back into the rubble-covered street, Erisa stopped and looked both ways. "Coast is clear." She then continued to lead the march, feeling a subconscious need to stay in the front as if she could protect Gyuuki in her injured state. Granted this wouldn't help in an ambush from the sides or behind, but Erisa wasn't a scholar anyways. "So... why did you come to the Akatsuki Academy? If you don't mind me asking, that is..." Having a companion made Erisa feel confident enough to begin talking freely again. She did, however, remain wary. The mistake of her first encounter with the stealthy drones was not forgotten.

@Double Capybara
@Spriggs27 I'm gonna guess it's on a timer because the Head Mistress probably doesn't wanna hang around for dawn.
Can we say "juiced"? lol
Gil

The coils of electricity around Gil's arms slowly died down, reducing themselves to intermittent sparks that would flicker around his body for a split-second at a time with an almost silent 'pop'. The three humanoid drones in front of him were all face-down on top of a pile of rubble from a nearby leveled building. Like every drone before them they were completely drained and deactivated without so much as a fight. Gil paused a moment to look down at the fallen robots, bringing his arms back to his sides. These ones were a bit more clever than the last. I didn't expect them to hide behind a simple pile of rocks. But it didn't really matter either way. The wolf drones are still sneakier than these types. Not that it helps them that much... With a resigned sigh, Gil continued walking down the desolated street.

He had been stopping at every intact building and car, inspecting as much as he could for any of the tarot cards. Either he wasn't very fortunate so far or they were hidden quite well. As the brown-haired gunslinger stopped to look inside a broken-down car he was met with the sudden appearance of another wolf drone. As the mechanical beast leaped at him from inside the vehicle, Gil leaned backwards as arcs of lightning connected the two briefly with a loud buzzing sound. By the time the drone crashed into the street it was apparent it wasn't getting back up. Gil turned his upper body to look back at the robot canine. More robots. Still no card. The sparks continued to faintly pop as Gil moved on from the car. It was a subtle sound that Gil practically couldn't hear anymore after so many years of it, but it was a nice touch when compared to the occasional sounds of battle that would echo across the ruined city. If he had to judge by sounds alone it would seem that practically nobody else was having a good time in this scavenger hunt.

As Gil continued his trek into the city he spotted someone up ahead. This was a surprise to him, considering how long it had been. He had figured that most everyone that had run ahead instead of walked casually would remain ahead of him. But clearly this person, a girl judging from afar, must've slowed down or something. Maybe she even got turned around after a fight. As Gil began to approach her he realized something. There were never any rules established, he concluded, narrowing his eyes towards her but maintaining his path. If she thinks I have a card she may try to fight me if she's as desperate as some of these other kids. Or perhaps she might just see me as a threat if she already has a card. Gil kept his left hand resting on his holstered hand cannon and kept his right hand in his jeans' pocket, but internally he prepared himself for a possible confrontation. As he approached the girl, who seemed to be tired or perhaps exhausted, he cleared his throat loudly to get her attention. "Hey, you seem to be a little tired," he spoke up as he approached. He didn't care if she noticed his posture or the occasional spark, if it was going to be a fight then so be it. But his tone of voice suggested no hostility at least. The easier things had to be, the better.

"Most everyone else is probably way ahead of us by now. Could've sworn I saw you get a good head start on me before." The black-haired girl clearly had a sword but that didn't stop Gil from approaching her. He raised his left hand from the gun on his hip to hold it out towards her. "Name's Gil." Before she could even try to meet his handshake and introduce herself there was the sound of shifting rocks from behind the Lightning Cowboy. Another wolf drone appeared out of thin air, already mid-leap towards Gil's exposed back. The young man tilted his head to the side slightly and glanced backwards, bringing the robot into his peripheral view. In much the same fashion as the robots he had faced before, arcs of lightning danced between Gil and the drone in a split-second, leaving the robot with no power. The lights deactivated and it stopped moving completely, though it was still airborne. Gil simply leaned his entire body to the side and let it fly past him, narrowly missing both he and the girl he just met. And this entire time he had kept his arm out as if nothing had happened. Coils of electricity from the drone wrapped around Gil for a second before being properly stored within. As he stood back upright it appeared as if nothing had even happened over the past few seconds. "Seems I wasn't the only one who found you," he joked, though his expression remained rather deadpan.

Erisa

"Wow, that was a lot harder than it had to be," Erisa commented to herself, placing a foot against the hull of the humanoid drone and gripping the steel arrow that was sticking out of its chest. "These things are almost like living things. They don't just stand there and shoot like they do in the old movies. They run and hide and use cover and stuff." The arrow had gone entirely through the robot and pinned it to the ground, which required Erisa to huff and puff for a brief moment before she could build up the strength to retrieve her arrow. With one final yank it came out, tearing out a few electronic bits and bobs in the process. "My Zetsu isn't strong enough to get through that armor. I suppose I should just be ready for more of these. Good thing there was only one. I spent way too much time in this fight..." The flower spirit gently placed the arrow back in her quiver before stepping off the defeated robot. After looking both ways for a moment she turned to face the direction she naturally felt was east and continued walking again.

As Erisa searched around she quickly became bored. She could hear sounds of battle occasionally but it seemed that only that one drone was the only thing she found. Nothing else. Nothing interesting to look at, definitely no drones, and most certainly no tarot cards. After a long silence she began talking to herself again. "I wish I could find a tarot card just so I could know what that is. This is getting so dull. But what if I can't find one of the cards? Will they kick me out? What would I do then? I haven't fulfilled my purpose yet. That would certainly make things harder for me. I don't even know what I'd do, honestly. Should I come up with a back-up plan? Hmmm, I suppose I should. Just in case." As Erisa began rambling to herself to stay occupied she had completely neglected to notice the sounds of incoming enemies.

A new drone appeared hardly a meter away from her to the right side, one of the canine types. Erisa only barely saw it out of the corner of her eye and was able to react out of sheer panic rather than controlled will. Despite her reflexes it wasn't quite enough, as the sharp claws of the drone cut a gash through her right midsection. Her blood splattered against the ground, mostly red but having a notable shade of green within due to her natural chlorophyll within her blood cells. The surge of pain surely got her attention as she whipped around to face the wolf drone as it landed. "Twin Dragons!" Cliche as it was of her, as soon as she called the name of her manifestation it began to appear. Plant matter rapidly expanded in two columns from her upper back, forming the massive limbs that were her Dragons. As the drone turned back to face Erisa it would see one of these jaws was already lunging toward in an attempt to swallow it whole. While the drone was able to turn invisible again in time it was too late to actually move completely out of the way. The Dragon's jaws clamped shut, taking the left half of the robot with them.

As brief as it was invisible, the remaining half reappeared and collapsed on the ground, sparking profusely from the cut wires. Despite the fact it was 'bitten' through by a plant with jaws and very corrosive acid, it appeared as if it was cleanly cut. As the Dragon shrunk back in length to become symmetrical with its twin, Erisa put a hand over her wound. "Ow, ow, ow. If only I had some water..." She didn't get to lament long, as another two wolf drones lunged at her from behind. She had managed to encounter a small pack. Fortunately for Erisa she was much more wary and actually noticed their approach this time. The Twin Dragons both lunged out at the incoming drones, biting through them as if they were paper and leaving hardly anything behind. They were almost completely 'swallowed' whole. Sure, they weren't actually swallowed, but the acid within the Twin Dragons broke them down nigh instantaneously. There was no getting them back. "Why are there so many of them? How many of these things are in this city?"

After glancing around for a moment and determining that there were no more drones in the immediate vicinity, Erisa withdrew her Twin Dragons, returning her to a rather normal appearance. She continued to keep her hand over the deep cut in her side while she held her bow in the other. "That really hurt..." As Erisa continued her search into the city she was notably more quiet now. It seemed that she learned from this experience. She would have to not only be searching for cards but stay on her toes for enemies. There were more than she thought there were, after all. It wasn't long before Erisa heard a scream nearby. It didn't sound like one of pain or fear, but instead something like one would let out to psych themselves up. Perhaps 'yell' would be the proper term, but it sounded feminine so it didn't quite come off that way. Regardless it gave the flower spirit something to investigate. She walked into the building she heard it come from but there was no more sounds now. It was a particularly large building, seeming to have multiple smaller buildings inside it. Surely quite the area to cover and it didn't narrow anything down by much. "H-h-hello!?" she called out, hoping to get a response from a human or fellow Youkai. Erisa had already decided that she didn't like the drones.

@Double Capybara
@Lmpkio If LJGH is grabbing Kings, then it's literally between four people who gets what. Not much of a lottery here.
