@POOHEAD189 Here's a quick one but this one covers the subject of John Oliver's lying better.
@POOHEAD189 It's not just a bias rhetoric. Not only have these shows plainly lied about their hosts political opponents but the very design of the segments themselves is highly manipulative on a psychological level. Whether its by choice of the hosts, the producers, or the broadcasters can be debated but frankly it doesn't matter. Shows like John Oliver's are attempts at social engineering, a practice that has almost six decades of experience by now. I'm not particularly qualified for explaining the psychological aspects of the shows, but you can read up on the subject by searching something along the lines of "media literacy" or you can read some of the works by Noam Chomsky.
@POOHEAD189 I personally disagree. I believe all of them are attempting to push their own political agenda. And they're allowed to. They aren't state-sponsored shows and their broadcasters aren't state-sponsored either. I just don't like how they go about it nor do I agree with their politics. So I choose not to watch. Others can watch them if they want, they just shouldn't believe that these shows are not thinly veiled political activism.
I personally don't like any of those shows. They have a very specific format that is practically brainwashing. You can break down their segments to see that they all maintain a specific pace between what the host says, audience laughter, and any skits they may have prepared. The shows may be comedies but their hosts are political activists so it doesn't excuse their content. They are also fully aware that because of their comedy that many people prefer to watch them over actual news shows because of their similar coverage so they have a wide audience they can attempt to manipulate.
@Agent 47 Her last name is Konchu and her magic is bugs.

I see a coincidence.
Never forget that the Colbert Report, the Daily Show, and Last Week Tonight are all comedy shows. Any and all political commentary on these shows comes from professional comedians. They often have financial stakes in their content as well.
I think I'll join this as my first roleplay.
@POOHEAD189 Thanks.
@Penny I think I've got a good idea of the atmosphere, both in this board and the rest of the site as a whole. I'm not worried. Thank you though!

@The Harbinger of Ferocity I agree, it doesn't seem to be an echo chamber in here at all. I might enjoy reading what comes of this thread. Thank you for the greetings too.
@Dynamo Frokane There's been a couple of things that have gotten my attention, definitely. Thanks for the greeting, you're the first.
