Bio

Greetings,

I am Jb; Briton by birth, roleplayer by my own hand, and lover of literature. I am also an amateur historian, a receiver of a Bachelors degree in Ancient and Medieval History - quite a useless degree, actually - and would like to think that I'm a fair, honest and open guy.

As far as RP'ing goes, I'm pretty open to most things really, all you need to do is ask! :)

So, if you've ever any questions for me, wish to speak about RP's involving myself or run by myself, or simply feel like a chat, don't be afraid to get in touch.

Elsewhere, yes. Here, no.
Okie dokie!

Edited the RP, I'll get the first IC/Prologue up tomorrow at the latest.
@Bright_Ops Now...is that good or bad? I'm not quite sure.
@Lady Selune Depends what you come up with.

@Wraithblade6@BCTheEntity@Bright_Ops@Hank@Necroes

The way I see it is like this;

We have the Tau, that is true, and he's great for having around for xeno-tech/corrupted stuff that won't destroy him because of his faith in the Tau'va, and so on. The Techmarine is still a marine, therefore can still be used as a warrior/soldier even if he isn't going around doing tech-related things AKA He has a dual role in the group. I've no idea what Selune's idea is yet, but a Heretek would probably help if we came upon technology that our resident Tau was unfamiliar with AKA Imperial/Pre-Heresy/non-Tau tech.

As for a medic, well, I may be able to help with that.

That's my weighing in, any questions?
@Necroes On you go.

I've taken a look, and I'll get back to you some time soon.

Procedure:
  • Using this template, please post a character sheet.
  • Characters must be Astartes.

Character Sheet

Name:
Age: (chronologically/in real-space years...Chaos Marines can be millennia old, but only due to warp-influence.)
Legion/Warband/Chapter:
Planet of Origin:
Physical Description:
It's probably best to actually describe the character if you are going to rely on a picture, or you can do without the picture if you like, but definitely describe.

Skillset:
Characters will have similar training, but not all.

History:
Explain how your character got there -- no 'the story will come out in RP' lines, please -- I want a feel for where your character is coming from. Were they in a traitor legion, were they in a loyalist legion whose task force was destroyed. How did they survive all these millennia? Are they a renegade from a newer Chapter, if so why would they turn on the Imperium?

Psychological Profile:
An idea of how the character thinks and so forth; should be linked to the history.

Equipment (Weapons etc, this can and most likely will be replaced as the RP progresses):
The sands of time run low for the Imperium...

Chaos will ever win in the end.

TL;DR Summary:
  • Warhammer 40K, of course.
  • 42nd Millennium, the Fall of Cadia, a signal of the End Times for the Imperium?
  • In the aftermath of the Fall of Cadia/13th Black Crusade, thousands upon thousands of Traitor Astartes – along with their vessels, slaves and cultist minions – have been given the chance to enter Imperial space again. Some for the first time in millennia. Although the glass may have been destroyed with Cadias destruction, a thousand shards still remain within the territory of the Corpse-Emperor.
  • Due to the result of the 13th Black Crusade, detachments of traitor legions and renegade Chapters are spread out all over the place. During the various atrocities that took place both on Cadia and within further Imperial space, there was fighting between and among these elements as well as alliances...such is the way of Chaos.
  • Characters will be traitor survivors of these various engagements, cast adrift from their parent units and forced to form an ad-hoc unit of Astartes together in common cause; their own selfish needs and a desire to see the Imperium burn. I might allow ancillary characters (serfs, slaves, cultists and so forth) but that would be a rarity, and they would need to be useful; please ask if you'd prefer a non-altered human.
  • Characters have managed to survive a penultimate assault upon an Imperial world, the retreating forces of Chaos must now flee back into space to get themselves away from the planet. With various transports, including a number of Thunderhawks and Dreadclaws on the planets surface, it is only a matter of how they escape.
  • An Imperial Naval force stands between the heretics and freedom, as do other less worthy servants of the Ruinous Powers. Each must be dealt with eventually, but freeing yourself from the blockade must be the first priority.
  • Please post sheets in the character tab for approval. That will have a template in the Character Tab, please use that.

In Character Info

The Long War has been perpetrated by the Legiones Astartes of the Traitor Legions for over ten millennia, their utter loathing and hatred of the Carrion-Emperor and his servants uniting them in shared interest, and allowing the Despoiler – apparent heir to the Warmaster – to force assault after assault from the Eye of Terror and into the fragile territories of the Imperium. Now one such conflict has succeeded where twelve others failed, the planet of Cadia, a gateway into Imperial space and a foothold, has been torn asunder by machinations unknown.

On the surface of Minoa III, just one of a million locations within the Segmentum Obscurus set upon by the voracious hordes of Chaotic invaders, forces from a hundred Renegade Warbands and even forces from the Traitor Legions themselves battled across the surface of the forge world. Surrounded by thousands of cultists and treacherous Guardsmen their victory seemed assured, and had it not been for the unexpected arrival of an Imperial Naval group and their Astartes allies, the world and its materials would surely have fallen into the clawed clutches of Abaddon and his servants.

Seeing the battle turning against them and without immediate reinforcements, their only allies being one another – something not wholly compatible with their beliefs – the ordered cleansing of the Mechanicum world turned into more of a rout. Thousands die as Imperial forces descend from the skies, the transhuman masters cutting their way back toward their Thunderhawk gunships and Dreadclaw assault pods even as the world burns around them, for they are not going to remain and die due to another of the Despoiler's failures!

While the fight for Minoa III had ended, the struggle for survival, and a continuation of the Long War, is just beginning...

Out of Character Info:

Astartes of different legions and warbands, different outlooks and widely different stories. They are, of course, bound in one common cause, but they are otherwise thrown together in the chaotic beginnings of a truly grand-scale interstellar war. This is meant to be an RP of individual characters struggling with the shock of defeat but also looking toward their own needs and their own ends – it is one free of the strict rules and loyalties of the Imperium, free to do as one wishes, even if it costs others their lives. We are after the events of Cadia and the 13th Black Crusade and now looking toward the more immediate future. We will see how far the story takes us.

Of course, there is a lot of temptation in the universe in a time of chaos and uncertainty. It's possible for the characters to carve their own empire or turn to upon one another and once again know the blessings of the Gods.

I hope for this to be a more 'realistic' look at the Chaos Legions; how a lack of resources and cohesion effects them, how coming from differing legions changes their mindset, what being eaten away by supernatural powers might do to them and so on. 'Realism' as far as a sci-fi Grimdark setting can go anyway; with that said, I will accept characters from any Warband or Legion, but would prefer for them to be of the 'tactical' variety – if you wish for a Terminator or a Raptor etc then this is also fine, just be aware the the resources of the Chaos forces are finite, and thus fuel, ammunition, and whatever else that can run dry eventually will.

All-in-all this is an RP about what happens when superhuman warriors are no longer governed by rules and discipline, allowed to free themselves of shackles and take to the stars in their own odyssey. When some devote themselves to cruel deities and others do not, when some look to the past and others seek only a better future, but with enemies all around and even their own 'allies' likely to turn against them it can only be a matter of time before their own self-implosion...right?
Hmm. I can't figure rathanael out.
