Bio

Greetings,

I am Jb; Briton by birth, roleplayer by my own hand, and lover of literature. I am also an amateur historian, a receiver of a Bachelors degree in Ancient and Medieval History - quite a useless degree, actually - and would like to think that I'm a fair, honest and open guy.

As far as RP'ing goes, I'm pretty open to most things really, all you need to do is ask! :)

So, if you've ever any questions for me, wish to speak about RP's involving myself or run by myself, or simply feel like a chat, don't be afraid to get in touch.

Is this still open?

Could be, depends what you're wanting to bring to the table.
Time to build my stealth archer.

Now that sounds like competition...

Premise

It's been nineteen years since the Declaration of a New Order, and as far as the average citizen knows, there is nothing but peace and prosperity.

The Confederacy of Independent Systems have long since been defeated, leaving the galaxy unified under one rule again. The Jedi Order, who started the Clone Wars to destabilize the galaxy in the first place and help give them the opportunity to seize control of the Galactic Republic, have largely been purged. And while there are some misguided youths who would dare rise up against the Empire, in the end, they are always snuffed out by the Empire's seemingly infinite number of armies and fleets.

You don't have much going for you, and maybe you're feeling patriotic or like going on an adventure, so you decide to join the Empire!

You don't know that the Emperor is a dark lord of the Sith, that the Jedi were really innocent and you haven't seen enough of the galaxy yet to realize that the Empire, at it's core, is really an authoritarian regime who will crush even the slightest sign of dissidence.

Maybe you've heard whispers of rebellion, maybe somebody's tried to warn you about the truth, but what do they really know? They're a rebel, or at least a supporter of the rebellion! Why would you believe the word of a terrorist over the government? Or maybe you didn't have a choice. You're a smuggler, you're neck deep in debt with the Hutts, and you've seen just enough to know the Empire is a little oppressive. But it's either spend a life on the run from bounty hunters who want to kill you or join the Empire, where maybe you'll be safe. OK Sure, maybe you'll see some combat, but the rebels aren't too much of a threat... right?

You have completed your time at the local Sector Naval Academy – your reasons for joining being yours and yours alone – making it to the top ten percent of all Naval Academy applicants and with it your graduation and rank of Lieutenant into the elite Starfighter Corps.

Upon graduating you were given permission for temporary leave back to your homeworld – that leave is now over; you have been ordered to rendezvous with the ISD Emperor's Shadow, your new home for the time being, and the mobile base from whence your new life begins.

Rules
1. Please do not write in first person.

2. Nobody's perfect. For every character strength you have, you should also have some kind of flaw.

3. Your character isn't invincible and you can't control other player characters. God-modding is a no go.

4. Also keep in mind this is a mature RP. Expect violence, foul language and mature themes.

5. Just because (out of character) you're already aware of certain things in the galaxy does not mean your character necessarily is.

6. I'm open to productive dialogue regarding choices I (or other GMs) may make, but at the end of the day, I ask people to at least respect my decisions.

<Snipped quote>

That is indeed unfortunate. Perhaps I'll forego that for something more .. directly violent, I suppose. Does your pathfinder character use magic as well?

Don't worry about it, I'm just expressing personal views! If you wish to use one with magic, by all means go for it. :)

As for my character, apart from the usual 'in tune with animal companions' and so forth, no they don't possess any magical skills.
I'd say we've got too many people wielding magic (people love magic, is what I hear...) but that's just me as someone who prefers the more tangible route.
Oh no, the secret is out! *Leaps out a window*

@Ulstermann

A Guard Sergeant would actually be fine - the very fact that we do have so many extra-ordinary characters, in my opinion, would make it great to have a fresh pair of eyes from a more 'human' perspective. As far as allegiances go, we range from one end of the spectrum to...somewhere just beyond the middle...I think our resident Greenskin, and perhaps one of our two Fallen, are probably the most Chaotic of them all.

- You may create a character from more-or-less any sentient and independent-minded race (no Tyranids or Necrons therefore!) As long as you've a good enough reason for them 'going rogue' in one way or another; although this RP will be influenced a lot by Chaos and the Black Crusade FFG, it does not mean your character is required to be aligned to Chaos.
From the OP

@Ulstermann You could do Imperial. JB actually has a ship or two of them waiting outside to come fuck us all up later. Got some Sororitas, idk what else. Ask him.

I never actually specified that, so unsure where you're getting that idea from.

With two space marines in the group, a bullgryn, and an ork, Joe-guardsmen doesn't have a lot to level the playing field.

But pretty much just the Ork, who is both imposing in bodily conflict and a wizard. :P

Lastly, I'd say the easiest way for you to join us - at this particular juncture - would be to just have been part of Gar'duks group or a member of a former expedition onto the hulk. Not that you need to do either...suppose I could pull a load of Imperial ships out the air and lob them at the hulk.
@Za Warudo@Mach2@Big Dread@Dogematix

Firstly, apolologies - between work and general laziness, I have neglected this RP. However I intend to make amends but there is still one problem, and that is how to begin...which I am also having a problem with.

I have come up with two beginnings that I wish to run past ya'll if that's alright, and you can just say which one you'd prefer.

1) A classic American fair/fayre type deal; brass bands, stands, a ribbon across the bulk of one of the ships that'll be cut with scissors by the President. Then we all get off into the stratosphere.

2) We begin in spaaaaace - cuts out all the initial gumph and sets us up without having to 'set us up'.

So, thoughts?
@Wraithblade6 Your eyes do not decieve you - once this mission has been completed, we shall be receiving reinforcements.

@Hank Even after your constant unexpected disappearing acts, I can't say no to having you (re)join my RPs...you're writings too good.
@Hank If you trust me with that much responsability then sure, I can dig it.
Question - Can I play as a flesh (long pork) eating Bosmer?
