Bio

Greetings,

I am Jb; Briton by birth, roleplayer by my own hand, and lover of literature. I am also an amateur historian, a receiver of a Bachelors degree in Ancient and Medieval History - quite a useless degree, actually - and would like to think that I'm a fair, honest and open guy.

As far as RP'ing goes, I'm pretty open to most things really, all you need to do is ask! :)

So, if you've ever any questions for me, wish to speak about RP's involving myself or run by myself, or simply feel like a chat, don't be afraid to get in touch.

Still here, just very busy atm. Shall get a post up soon...feel free to slaughter some mutants as you will, for the time being.

There were things that would make the minds of mere mortals snap – the chamber that the Astartes entered next, the chamber from which they believed at least that they had heard the voice, was one such chamber.

If a mad artist had been able to paint a butchers shop, a slave chamber, a torture chamber and a version of the Ancient Terran 'Hell' all in one then this would surely have been it; littered about the place were body parts (some still even alive) while onto the walls were grafted entire bodies and, perhaps feeling the change in resistance against their boots, if one of the Deathwatch should look down then they would see the entire carcasses of human and non-human corpses made into something of a floor covering as well.

Things twitched and moved in the gloom, others cried out for release in groans and slurping noises, but that was not all there was...and the Astartes were not alone.

With a keening screech of something not entirely of this plain of existence, something forged of the living and the dead, something that may once upon a time have been a Dark Eldar, lumbered forth from an open pen. It was swiftly followed by several of its towering companions, augmented and towering figures with faces covered by black iron masks, shuffling devils of war.

Three Grotesques lurched forth in a mass of muscle and toxic blood. If there was one certainty here, it was that not every Marine would live to see another mission.
I say we just bomb the whole planet from orbit and then have the chunks thoroughly washed to make sure!

That's the spirit!

Sorry all for taking so long to post, I injured myself a couple of days ago and it's been pretty shit - but I'm here now, so let the torture Emperor-blessed persuasion commence.

Contrary to the suspicions of the Sororitas – not all that unfounded though, the arrival of the 'help' had been oddly fortuitous – Governor Von Behner and his forces moved as swiftly as they could to assist the Sisters and Inquisitor in whatever way they could; amethyst-clad medics located and treated casualties as best they could, their more martial comrades carried on to secure the perimeter, and others ventured to aid in gathering any living renegades for questioning.

“Inquisitor,” came a smooth and bass tone as Governor Heidric addressed Kliment, stepping forward to glance first at the apostate that Sister Elspeth had recovered and now placed her foot atop, then moving his patrician features toward Kliment once more, “it appears that your 'state visit' has turned a bit more lively than one would have hoped.”

Although he could not be sure, and there were few enough times when he was not, the Inquisitor swore he saw a look of fear somewhere deep within the Governors eyes. Oh he should be scared, something such as this had rattled the old man, especially now he had seen it for himself.

“It would appear so, Governor,” replied the Inquisitor with a grim expression, one hand pressing itself against his side as he gestured toward the prisoner, “would you know anything about this?”

The countenance of Von Behner and the expression upon it was nearly all the evidence that the God-Emperor's servant needed, the words of the man only reinforcing it, “good Inquisitor...I swear on the Throne that I know nothing of this, I-” he stammered for a moment, his mouth moving like a landed fish, “I am only glad that you survived and that I got here in time.” His eyes swivelled about to take in a number of black-armoured bodies, the man unconsciously making the Aquila over his chest, “there will be prayers and mourning rituals held for these brave Sisters, make no mistake of that.”

Satisfied, at least for the moment, the Inquisitor now turned to the heretic on the floor – the man appeared to be struggling, a Sergeant by the rank insignia on one of his arms, and he already knew that mere violence would not scare him.

“Hhhmm...”

He was young for a Sergeant, which was odd in itself, his green eyes opened wide – not with fear though...with something else.

“You bitch, get off of me!” Yelled the captive, squirming beneath the Sisters boot and foaming at the mouth, “I'll never talk to some Throne whore, so you can kiss my arse and kill me now.”

Clearly he would not break through sheer brute force alone, that much was clear from just looking at him, but there was a Hospitaller among them. These Sisters well knew how to heal, for that was their purpose when not standing beside their battle-sisters, yet they also knew how to inflict pain just as easily.

“Sister Christina,” called Kliment to the giantess of a woman, “if I may commandeer your attention for a moment?”

Taking a few steps away from the assembled welcoming committee, out of earshot of as it were, he waited for Alexa to approach before speaking.

“Sister, this one will not break through conventional means – I believe he must be persuaded. May I count on you and your...knowledge to pluck it out of him?”

Several more prisoners had been found in the mean time, including an enemy Stormtrooper who had been hurt pretty badly by the grenades tossed at him earlier, all would need to be 'seen to' eventually.

Let's call it - I can always resurrect it at some point but, yea, for now let's leave it here.
I question how priests and unarmored sister Repentia can wield the Eviscerator just fine, but a sister in full armor, armor which provides enough additional strength to carry heavy bolters by oneself, cannot use one. Especially a Sister belonging to a suborder that specializes in spearheading close range assaults.

That's something you'd need to ask GW, although I'd imagine it has something to do with the fact they're in a constant state of repentance-induced rage - like a Sororitas version of the Death Company.

According to the 6th Edition of the Codex, an Eviscerator can be carried as standard wargear by the Repentia, or as general wargear by 'Canoness and Ministorum Priest only'.

I'm not attempting to be pedantic, and I'd like another player, but there's a reason only Sisters hopped-up on the Sororitas' magical faith juice and driven into battle by people wielding neural whips can wield a gigantic two-handed chainsword (as well as a lack of any ranged weapons). The only other two (according to the TT at least) are members high up enough to be similar, just a lot less deranged.

Honestly - as weird as it may seem - I'm genuinely trying to not be an arsehole!

You want to go with that idea? Okay, I'm not going to stop you and I insist on nothing; send me a sheet and we'll go from there.

Expect a post tomorrow, for there shall be one, and this mystery shall just get even more mysterious.
@Asura The Sororitas power armour, though it does grant additional strength, is not so much like Astartes armour as to make that much of a difference. That, and each role is defined by their armament, so take a chainsword and bolter/bolt-pistol if you like - others already have - but unless you're a Repentia then there is no way I'm going to allow an Eviscerator, and certainly not with another weapon.

This isn't really anything to do with you, but I've had plenty of 'unique' characters in other RPs and have no wish to see them in this one.

I like your idea and a fresh player could be good, and I could well be getting things very mixed up here, and if that's the case then I apologise.
@Asura If you mean an Eviscerator, well, there's no way you'll be using it one-handed.

Observe, if you will, this Dom with a stormbolter.

Basically, if you want a chainsword-wielding Sister who doesn't have much firepower then go with a Repentia.

If you want a Sister with some firepower but little C-Q-C to them, go with a Dominion.

Never the twain shall meet, however.
@Asura I'll allow a Dominion, even one with a chainsword - although usually they'd not have that and a storm bolter.

Give me a sheet and I'll give you a definitive answer.
