It's flexible. A part is just a segment of your mech that defines it, by either being an actual body part or a weapon/gadget. It acts as a physical location on your mech and grants you abilities.

Like with mine I had the obligatory head part which lets me attack, wings as a movement element that lets me fly fast, and for the sake of simplicity I merged both the torso & legs and the various guns into their own parts. The torso/legs basically being for tanking the majority of damage and some slight utility and obviously the guns being another method of attack.

Like say with the basic ass gundam Rx-76 would be like:

Head: attack(head vulcans), useful.
Backpack: useful.
Body: defense.
Legs: useful
Weapons: attack

Or something along the lines.

Concept: Speed loving hyper-masculine mech pilot in a goofy mech with a mouth. May or may no be a char. Lance hails from another planet outside of the solar system known only as the outer rim. Not much is known of his past exploits other than him being a racing enthusiast with a certain knowledge in mechanics.

Relationships: 2: Rei Kurono. Lance has surprisingly taken in stride the situation involving various universes being mashed together along with his new job put upon him. Perhap in no due part to his infatuation with the lovely Miss Kurono, the lovely yet frosty operator on the bridge. He has a habit of sauntering over to the bridge and trying to flirt with her as well as showing off much to her continual understated annoyance.

Lance is a true gourmand when it comes to the burger. He is knowledgeable in all sorts of aspects related to hamburgers. In his free time if he's not working on tuning his mech then he's in the kitchen experimenting with making burgers

2: GOING FAST. As a racer nothing lights his fire than strapping into a high powered machine made for speed. Car, mech, plane, it doesn't matter so long as he can go fast and feel that rush.
