Fashion Sense:Because of his quirk, his clothing is usually the same simple outfit as it's his only set of clothes outside of the UA uniform that are fire resistant. Typically, he is seen wearing t-shirts that further cement the fact that he is so full of himself, with messages that say 'check me out', 'better than you' or 'winner'.

Distinguishing Features: A really, really, cocky smile.

PERSONALITY

Katsuro is obsessed with winning, and as such is a very competitive young man who sees all of his peers as obstacles to his own goals. But this isn’t to say that he dislikes everybody who is reaching for the same things. Katsuro is of the mind that there is no faster way to grow than competing directly with others. He may seem cruel to his classmates, but his insulting remarks and often aggressive attitude are often in his own mind a part of a healthy rivalry and a way to provoke more effort out of people. He wants everybody to work just as hard as he does to reach his perceived “number 1” spot, if only so he can beat them to reach even higher levels. Losing will put him into a wild rage state, often denying the legitimacy of his opponents victory so that he can still claim to be at the top. This can be used against him to motivate or manipulate him into doing something he otherwise wouldn’t do. If you say he can’t do it, he almost certainly will just to prove you wrong.

An outspoken and passionate youth, Katsuro will usually not hesitate to speak his mind on any topic even in cases where a filter might do him some good. This makes him an overbearing and sometimes untolerable presence, but unabashedly honest with everybody.

He would never admit it to anybody, but his arrogance stems from an inferiority superiority complex. Katsuro really just seeks validation that he never received in his early childhood and goes to great lengths to prove himself someone worthy of praise. In his own twisted perception, the only surefire way to earn respect is to be the undeniable best of the best at whatever he does.

His quirk is something he now recognizes and accepts as an extension of himself, just as if not more important as any organ. It is a central part to his identity. He thinks the same way of everybody’s Quirk. Win or lose, your Quirk is a part of you and should be nurtured and celebrated.

Short Quirk explanation:"Fire Hazard" - Katsuro emits a safe-to-breath but highly flammable and explosive gas from his body, however he can't ignite the gas on his own and requires an external ignition source. The process of making the gas is severely dehydrating, so he has to drink a lot of water.

Fashion Sense: Due to her unusual background, most of Suiko’s clothes are modest and formal. She is often seen wearing kimonos and shrine maiden outfits. Not for any desire or need to, but because that’s just what she’s been taught to wear. Casual wear, even the student uniform, are new and exciting for her.

Distinguishing Features: Pale pink skin. External frilly gills are prominently featured on the sides of her head and face, her eyes appear to only be large coal black pupils with no iris.

PERSONALITY

Suiko is a very simple girl who only expresses herself using literal and direct language. She often struggles to pronounce words with many syllables and sometimes outright forgets others, leading her to occasionally fail to get her message across to her peers.

She is not used to being treated in a negative way, so much so that she doesn’t even understand most insults. Calling her a gill face might lead her to just agree and ask why you didn’t use her name. Calling her a bitch would just confuse her and she would stubbornly tell you that she isn’t a dog. Persisting with name calling, however, will soon cause her to cry.

Similarly, she has been treated so well her entire life that she often doesn’t feel flattered when complimented. Rather she will nod along as if being told something she already knew. Gifts are seen more as “offerings”, and she doesn’t understand the principles of showing gratitude for them. She is just shy of having a goddess complex.

She is more comfortable and prefers to spend most of her time in the water, be it at the beach, a river, a pond, a stream, a fountain, or just the tub. But due to her previous isolation she is very adventurous and loves new and strange experiences.

HISTORY

Suiko was born in a small island community with little to no Quirk population. Regarded as sacred land by its very devout shinto inhabitants, when Suiko was born they considered her a holy child of the water deity Suijin. Most of her life was spent being pampered, praised, and worshipped by the island inhabitants. People visited her to pray and leave offerings daily.

On the day of her 14th birthday, an unknown man made an attempt on her life. A brutal attack that destroyed large sections of her brain. Miraculously, she not only survived but fully recovered from the incident with not even a scar left behind. The nature of her quirk had saved her, however, many memories of her young life were erased. She couldn’t remember the attempt on her life or who the culprit was, she had lost much of her speaking ability and had to relearn much of everything she had been taught up until that point, and even went through a massive personality shift. No longer a pampered goddess, but an innocent young girl who had to rediscover herself.

She was found by Kumaguma Kumaguma, a man seen as another deity or spirit while visiting the island, but the rest of the world knew him as a teacher at UA. He managed to talk the people of the island into letting Suiko come and learn at UA, where she would be safe from further harm and have a chance to interact with her peers. She is a student in class 1-B.

QUIRK

Short Quirk explanation: Axolotl, Mutant Type. Along with external gills, smooth pale pink skin, and a strong swimming tail, Suiko possesses an incredible healing factor. Given enough time, and as long as her body is kept stable and alive, she can regrow lost limbs, parts or even entire vital organs.

OTHERS

Likes: Swimming. Pools, ponds, puddles, rivers, the ocean. Any water. New experiences, trying things she never has before.

Dislikes: Having her intelligence questioned, acts of violence, sarcasm (she often doesn’t understand it).

Before the vibrant golden age of Heroes, there was an era now long forgotten. Quirks in this era were still a minority group with only one in about every ten people possessing one, but their numbers were quickly rising with every new generation. A group of Quirkless supremacists argued that this “new step in human evolution” was a stain to be wiped clean, and sought to persecute those that possessed Quirks. With the rising population of people with Quirks came the rise of a new breed of crime. Villain crime. The Yakuza, newly empowered with a growing population of Quirk users tired of being treated like second class citizens, have full control of the underbelly of Japan.

In response to the resulting wave of violent crime and an underprepared police force, vigilante Quirk users had risen up to face them. While they were initially shunned by the government for their reckless actions, nobody could argue with the results. Plans were made to introduce a legal Quirk police force, to be called “Heroes”. Vigilantes could now come clean and receive proper training and compensation for their duties. The system was young, volatile, and flawed.

In addition to allowing vigilantes to become proper Heroes, the country sought out to mold the next generation into Heroes of a higher standard. As most vigilantes started their careers fresh out of high school, what better way to start up the first generation of legal Heroes than to make a high school specifically for training them? To expedite this process, the government formed a contract with an existing high school, which, in return for a grand renovation and government protection, would host the training of these future Heroes.

However, the road to heaven is never smooth. Forces clash as new Quirk bearing students, an academic body of uninformed Quirkless students, a mix of government workers, and a ragtag force of vigilantes-turned-teacher mix in this high school, now dubbed UA.

You are a potential first year applicant to this young hero training program, and part of the second round of students to be accepted into the academy.

Setting Notes

• Quirks are well known about with about one in every ten people possessing one, but they are generally shunned by the quirkless and compared to monsters. Alternatively, some people have taken to worshiping them like gods in a cult-like manner.
• Hero culture is small, only just getting it's roots. Students will have little reference on what exactly a hero is supposed to be outside of comic books.
• While UA didn't have dorms in the show until mid-season, this universe will have dormitories to protect students from potential attacks by quirkless extremist protesters.
• Hero schools are extremely rare across the world, so it's entirely likely the class will contain a few foreign students.
• While this is set many years ago, the technology will be comparable to what is seen in the anime. Think about how progress halted to focus on quirk use.

• Posts must follow a mid-to-high casual standard of quality. I will not express a hard requirement for length, but I expect posts to have at least a few paragraphs of coherent content.
• Pacing of the roleplay in this thread will be slow, but if you can not post for a long amount of time please alert one of the GMs.
• Please follow regular roleplaying etiquette in the thread. No posting in IC or in Char tab until the GM team gives the all clear. No taking IC drama personally. Etc.
• Quirks that involve mind control or any type of forced action on behalf of another character are banned.
• All Quirks must be approved by GM team, we will work with you to balance and develop the idea.
