Amelia listened to Ben as he talked, managing to smile at his goofiness as he introduced himself. When he explained why he was there, Amelia looked visibly shocked as her cheeks turned a bit red. She hadn't expected anyone to worry about her.
"I-I'm okay. I'm just... not used to loud people. I grew up in a quiet home so they kind of... scare me." She said before giving him a smile again. "Thank you for caring though. I won't ask you to waste anymore time on me though. I'll be fine. But if you want to stay and talk, I won't mind. I need to start, uh... getting to know others. The only person I know right now is Mr. Leander."

Amelia is a kind, sweet, and gentle but very shy girl. She has a tendency to prefer to stay by herself and away from others, in order to avoid having to talk to others. These habits are due to her embarrassment at being mute and wanting to avoid situations where she might have to speak. Even though she is capable of using sign language but due to a lack of people around her capable of using it, she prefers to find other means to talk to others.
Amelia enjoys spending time outside and will do so, regardless of the weather, unless it is a thunderstorm as she has a fear of thunder and lightning after being locked outside during one such storm.. She likes being around plants and creatures, things that she can interact with without having to talk. She also enjoys taking care of them and the visual beauty that comes from such effort, using them as subjects for her sketchings.
One outstanding trait of Amelia is her self-confidence. Or rather, her complete lack thereof. Amelia's lack of confidence in herself is to the point that if she does accomplish something, she doesn't feel as if she was the one who actually accomplished the task, even if she was the only one to work on it. This lack of confidence also effects how she views her talents, causing her to think she is lacking in an area where she is actually quite skilled at.
Amelia is also a pacifist. No matter how badly you treat her, she will simply bow her head and let her tormentor(s) continue until they are finished. She will never seek revenge on them or hold a grudge and simply views such things as a natural part of her life that she cannot avoid. This, combined with her muteness often makes her a target for bullies and people of the like.
History:
Amelia was born as the only child to a single mother, Ellis Averyonna. Ellis did her best to raise Amelia and had to keep a constant eye on her daughter, due to Amelia being born mute and unable to make a sound when she needed something. Despite the struggles, Ellis managed to be a good mother to Amelia and kept the two of them from living on the streets. However, when Amelia was only one year old, she and Ellis where involved in a car accident, which Amelia survived but Ellis perished in.
Unable to contact the girl's biological father or any other relatives, the young child was quickly placed into foster care. While in the system, Amelia has been in many foster homes but also taken out of them all. Many of her foster parents put her back in the system after repeated magical incidents. On top of this, Amelia had trouble getting along with the siblings she would live with, with most of them being older and picking on her due to her inability to call for their parents and fight back. This resulted in most of the magical incidents that would cause her to be put back into a group home.
Life outside of a normal household was no better for the young girl, as she was picked on just as often and her burst of magical power tended to land her in even more trouble.
