Yeah, its an old Xbox Live game called The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile. Its made by the people who did Charlie Murder and Salt and Sanctuary. Its a one of those DMC type games, but in 2d.
Also the backstory is pretty wacky, yeah. It kinda takes a back seat to the combat and style.
EDIT: So is that around the power level you were looking for at the start?
Here's a CS for Yuki, though I'm not sure if I'll be using her yet. Basically I just wanna gauge of how powerful our characters should be.
Yuki
Gender: Female Age: Early 20's Series: The Dishwasher Equipment
A blade stolen off of an Iffenhaus guard.
A mechanical prosthetic arm given to her by her stepbrother. Currently has Chainsaw mode, and Gatling Gun mode.
A giant blade blessed with the power of the clouds, and reminiscent of absolutely nothing copyrighted.
Abilities
Vampire Physiology - Yuki has been bitten by The Creeper, a vampire. Vampires are stronger, more durable, and most importantly faster, than humans, but are more violent, and succumb to telekinetic or mind based magics more readily.
Blood Teleport - Yuki has the ability to turn herself into blood and throw herself in a certain direction before reforming. Basically it's a blink spell. Useful for getting through tight spaces, approaching an enemy, and dodging.
Blood Magic - Vampires have the ability to use Blood Magic. The only spell Yuki knows at the moment is Chain Lightning.
Weaknesses and Limitations:
Range - Yuki's Gatling Gun is kind of a peashooter, and her magic needs blood to feed off of for her to use it. Anything she can't close the gap against, she is useless against.
One Arm - Though she's strong enough to wield great swords one-handed, any actions requiring especially dexterous use of one hand, like firing a machine gun, are out of the question.
Health - Though Yuki is fast, and decently strong, she can still be taken down with enough force, as she doesn't have health regeneration, and wears no armor.
Suggestible - Any mind related effects like confusion or fear spells are especially effective on her.
Backstory: Yuki was the stepsister of The Dishwasher, a vampire samurai trying to combat the rise of the Cyborgs, machines given souls. Though The Dishwasher thought his sister dead, he was proven wrong when she revealed herself after they had fought while she was under the influence of the Cyborgs. The Dishwasher left his sister's corpse where it was, as there was no time for a proper burial; the earth was going up in smoke. This proved to be a mixed bag. The Creeper a vampire like The Dishwasher, bit Yuki, and brought her back as an undead.
Yuki, confused and out of sorts, managed to stow away on a cargo rocket leaving earth. Once discovered, she was blamed for the earth's eruption, actually the product of Cyborg intervention. She rotted away in jail for about a year, before something in her awakened. Now, she's out for the corrupted blood of the Cyborg higher-ups.
Personality: Yuki is a very dry woman. Though she's not incapable of jokes, her humor is very sarcastic and deprecating, to both herself and others. She is very independent, and likes to do things on her own, occasionally even refusing help from people. She is also quite violent, possibly due to the vampire blood running through her. She has been know to tear out throats with her own teeth, and explode heads with her Cloud Sword, despite her quiet, loner demeanor. Even if she is kind of a psychopath, she still loves her brother, and is very forgiving towards him and, in extension, everyone else she loves. She also harbors a hate for all things robotic, and likes to play the violin in her spare time.
Again just to reiterate, not sure if I wanna play her yet so don't lock me in or anything.
Bonnie simply snickered as the Koopa King lifted up the foolish despot, and insulted him, before chucking him at his own fortress. That was why he was pretty much the only man she respected in the kingdom. Though, Mario making fun of the counterfeit crown did place him one step closer to likability. Apparently, she shared her Bowser-loving sentiment with the drunkard, who had followed them over. She sighed and face palmed. Hopefully Bowser would tell him to goddamn leave.
As the less famous members of the crew watched the fight, that Yoshi asked her where she had gotten her bat, apparently it looked similar to something he had once owned. She doubted it, but humored him anyways. "Nah, this ain't yours. Got it offa some douchebag in the King's castle." She laughed. "Hell, even if it was, you ain't gettin' it back."
The Goomba King rambled on while she was explaining herself, but she did catch the last bit of what he said. Apparently, it was some of Bowser's soldiers who were attacking the town, and his the goomba's fortress by extension. Apparently there was a "big guy" too. "So those ain't actually yours, right? Would a section break off like this?" She asked the koopa. Honestly she hoped they couldn't be called off. She was sure she and everyone else here were itching for a fight.
@Major Ursa Well, I really wanted to get something out today since I couldn't yesterday, so I just assumed those feathers hurt. If they don't, I can edit.
Ash laughed slightly as Nina expressed concern at attacking the monster in front of them. "These things can't speak, like you an' me. And they just attacked you didn't it? I'd say it's life is forfeit." He rationalized. But then she said something that just about blew his mind. Humans didn't have magic? Well then how did they do... anything? And what was that purple trap thing if not magic? Apparently they didn't even believe magic existed up on the surface. What a queer place it must've been.
Nina CHECKed the thing out, after setting a trap. It had low attack, but a surprisingly high defense for something to soft. Nothing he couldn't have told her on his own, obviously. Something he couldn't have told her was the monster's reaction to getting sliced. Instead of taking damage regularly, it split in half, allowing razor-sharp feathers to fly everywhere. Instinctively, Ash dodged. He threw himself to the left, which proved to be a bad move. He had moved directly into more of the feathers, the attack spreading wide. In seeming happenstance though, he had jumped towards Nina, shielding her from the quills that could've hit her.
Ash grunted in anger as he pulled some of the quills from his bones. He had been hit by a few of them. He lost 4 HP, so now he was at 24/30. Shit, he had completely forgotten he had lost some health in his scrap with Nina. He would have to avoid stuff like that again. Looking back, he noticed more FP's around them, one who had just latched itself onto Nina but was fleeing. "D*mn! I forgot they did that... Sh*t did your trap get messed up?" He asked her. Him absorbing the attack probably made them lose their chance at bonus damage. For now he simply weighed his options. He didn't have any items, orange magic would be ineffective, his saw got him hurt, and they were surrounded. It really wasn't looking good for him, huh?
♥ System
A slight grin could be spotted on System's face as Lorelei accepted the regular rate. Normally she didn't get jobs so close together. She would probably be able to splurge a little this week. Still, her brief smile returned to normal as the normally ecstatic and explosive idol became serious. Though the skeleton woman could fight, a two on one, with a human, would not end well for her. So she heeded the advice, and would bring her weaponry along.
Quickly, Lorelei returned to her normal joviality, while asking when she'd start. "Yes. Tonight I'll look over Ash's files. See if there's any precedent. Tomorrow, I'll see if I can talk to him. Or go over to his home, need be." She explained. Even if nothing came of it, seeing this human in action would be fun.
