The Breeds

The scientist have found a way to blend human and animal DNA. The government has agreed to fund this experiment. The question was where to get volunteers. After much discussion it is agreed to offer the option to young criminals as away to avoid jail and turn their lives around. As one of these young criminals you will have to learn to control your animal instincts and learn to change at will. If you survive the training you will became a soldier defending the United States. The teens are kept an apartment complex that was built underground. This was to keep the project hidden until the teens had control of their animals and were trained. It was understood that the teens would do exactly what they were told or they would be destroyed. They would be tested and educated. It was hoped that they could become the soldiers of the future saving others. They would do the missions deemed too dangerous for ordinary soldiers.

Roxy was undecided about the academy. She had desire to have a roommate but it sounded like she had no choice, as usual. She would deal with that when she found out who she was rooming with. Until then there was no reason to worry about it. She made her way out of the room. She didn't have a phone. But she wasn't going hang around looking like some loser. Not when everyone else was leaving.

She had a map but she had no clue how to read it. So she just followed the crowd. The first class was power development. That was a class they all had to take. If she was wrong she would just wing it. She was good at that. It was the only way that she had survived this long. Roxy saw no reason why it shouldn't continue to work. She watched the others start to interact and socialize. She had no idea how to do so for now she would just watch and learn.

@vn2202umm.. I don't remember agreeing to making them roommate. That isn't something I would allow. The idea is for your character to interact with the rest of us. Not for you to interact with yourself.

Be my Sanctuary

Roxy didn't think of Jess' glance towards the couple. The pair were the picture of love. Almost she though as she studied them. Their posture and actions spoke of love. But the tension in their bodies indicated darker emotions lay beneath the surface. Still it wasn't any of their business so she was glad when the empath headed in the other direction.

They had nearly reached the table when Jess' mom asked if she was alright. Roxy assumed it was because of how long it had been since Jess had been around this many people until the empath answered. Then she stopped at glared at Jess. A mix of emotions hit her. Mostly anger and fear.

What Jess had just said went against everything she had read. Maybe her shield wasn't what should be because they were strangers and their connection wasn't strong yet. Maybe her shield was damaged because she was damaged. Not that it mattered. What matter was how much emotion and what emotions were getting through. "Can you feel my emotions?" She growled the question. The last thing she needed or wanted was for Jess to be able to know what she was feeling.

Griffin watched the others. They all seemed so relaxed. He didn't understand how they had the confidence to interact. Some of them were so casual that he wondered if they had known each other outside of the academy. Of course some of them had been here longer than he had been so it was likely they were used to each other. He on the other hand had never been around this many people his own age.

He ignored most of the teachers rambling. He doubted that he would ever need to know any thing about the tide or the moon. He couldn't imagine what either would have to do with the life he planned to live after he got out. He saw no point in struggling to understand things that he wouldn't use. He was curious to see who responded to get challenge. He didn't have the first clue. Of course part of that was because he hadn't been paying attention to her review.
