Mages of New Edis

Katherin had packed her bag the night before so that she could leave as soon as she woke up. She was too nervous to eat. This was a dream that she had been working towards for years. One she hadn't thought would come true. Now that it was she intended to make the most of it.

She took a cab to the IMFO head quarters. She wondered who else had been chosen. She was excited to met her new co-workers. She was hoping to build friendships at the very least. She longed to belong. This was her chance. The interview and training were just formalities. She wasn't worried about them. She was confident that she could get through them.

Katherin climbed out of the can. She handed the driver her card. The card was a much safer then trying to do cash. She had been taken advantage of too many times with cash. With the cab paid she headed towards the gate using her magic as a guide.

This girl was too innocent to be here. She would never survive Vlad and his stupid tests. Roxy didn't want to feel protective of anyone. She needed to focus on her survival. But she hated that someone like this girl had ended up here. She snorted when the girl asked her if she wanted to be here. She was surprised that any of them still wanted to be here. But maybe they were still hoping to get something good out of the experience.

"No I don't want to be here. Unlike you smart people." Roxy put air quotes around the work smart because she didn't think anyone who volunteered for human experiments was all that smart. "I didn't volunteer for this. I have no desire to be a soldier or save the world. This isn't an ordinary collar kid. Unless one of you is a technical genius I don't see any of you being able to remove it."

Be my Sanctuary

Roxy glared at Jess over her shoulder. "It's supposed to be perfect. You're suppose to feel almost no other emotions but your own. That is clearly not the case. Which means my shield his ducking cracked and I'm failing in my job to protect you. End of story." She snapped. It was her job to keep all emotions away from the empath and she was clearly not doing that. She had no idea how to fix it. But she had to find a way.

She wanted to drop the topic. They should send their time catching up with each other. Instead of focusing on how much she was failing. She needed to find a way to close the gaps in her shield. She didn't want or need Jess experienciexperiencing her emotions. She had too many things she needed to hide. The empath was way too fragile to handle the things she tried to keep buried.

"I honestly don't know. Vlad says I am the only to survive his first experiment but I don't believe him. He isn't exactly known for his honesty. I've been over a year. I think. It's easy to lose track of time here. There are no windows any real way to make time. It could be night in the outside world for all we know." Roxy answered honestly. She was sure that it had been more than a year but she had no proof. It felt like she had been trapped in this hellhole. She had tried to escape more than once. She had almost succeeded once which was why she had the color. Vlad was looking into putting tracking chips in the others just so he would always know where they were.
