If you're buying "health food bars" make sure you check the sugar content. A little natural sugar is normal, but it ain't heathy if it has 20g added sugar.

A team of Saint Laurels students beat a bunch of weird nuns. Then a knight fought some demons in what felt like some sort of fantasy play rather than a tournament battle. Then Kath got shot in the ribs with an arrow.

"Ah... fuck," Rurik sighed. Christine wasn't going to be happy about that. In fact she was getting up. "Christine there's a-"

BZZT! Christine bounced off of the force-field in a failed attempt to save her sister.

"-barrier..."

And then his girlfriend skated off, leaving a scattering of iced over people in her wake. ". . . wait." Rurik said pathetically, long after she was out of earshot. He probably could keep up if he tried. But he didn't like to try... And to what? Save Katherine? That held no appeal for him.

He recalled hearing Bak panicking somewhere nearby after Vittorio had blown up, so that was also happening.

It seemed he was at a cross-roads. Christine and Kath or Bak and Vittorio. Both people he associated with somewhat willingly, and both trying to save someone. What should he do? What should he pick? The tournament was canceled and his team was in shambles, so that wasn't an issue anymore anyway.

"Oh to hell with this, I'm going home..." Rurik muttered and shoved his hands in his pockets.

"...he was so strange, it was as though he wanted to pour out his entire heart. He has never talked to me like this before, not for that long. And, and...look! He gave this to me, asked me to keep it safe when he was gone. Rurik, I know he talks often about killing Alto but this feels different. I do not believe he intends to come back this time."

Rurik clenched his teeth a bit, but kept going.

"That sucks. And?"

"Please promise you will stop him! You always lie about going to class so this time you must promise!"

"Why me?!"

"Please promise, please promise, please promise, please promise, please promise-"

"GAH! FINE!" Rurik slammed his hands over his ears. "I promise! But you owe me!"

He was now grinding his teeth and picked up his pace.

"Thank you! I knew I could trust you!"

"I don't know why..." he mumbled to himself.

He stopped, eye twitching madly.

"I promise!"

"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" Rurik half-growled half groaned through his teeth and spun on his heel. "FUCK!"

Bak would have suddenly felt a weight land on her backpack.

"Get real, Bak. He's not gonna friggin' answer you. He's more of a robot that you are..." Rurik grumbled, now crouched on top of her. Now, how to spot the guy? He had his hand over his eyes, blocking the sun, as he peered around for Vittorio. What did he know about him? Gloomy, kinda weak in his real body, and... probably the only one skulking around in a hoodie walking toward Alto. From his perch, it was easy to pick him out. "Right then." He jumped off Bak and landed next to her.

"So I've got an idea you might not enjoy..." Rurik said and began gathering energy.

Meanwhile up in the crowd Alto stared, hands clenched into fists, in the direction the demoness had flown. So it was back, drawn out by Clara's pet killer. He could tell the demoness knew, the way it had stared at her. He'd put it together as well. And now the tournament was canceled. The students nearby were all abuzz, some making their way out, other's just chattering anxiously. Some... distracted by a strange, screaming robot girl. And then there was one moving against the tide -- toward him? He thought he saw something shiny...
Clara -- Latest Opportunity

Clara narrowed her eyes ever so slightly as the demoness stared her down. The creature probably thought itself clever for noticing Clara, but it had so far walked right into her trap...

Of course it then blasted its way out of the arena, but that was a small setback at the worst. Already one of her beholders was lying in wait, taking off after the demoness. It lagged behind, but the demoness could only fly so far. Clara had suspected, correctly, that it was weak.

The beholder found her, claws wrapped around an old man. However, the man soon broke free, bleeding slightly, but never the less escaping her grasp. She didn't even try to stop him. How curious. Then another appeared out of nowhere. A boy... One she realized after a moment that she knew, though only in passing. One of Mephisto's few night students.

He then offered help to the demoness. How... unfortunate. Clara stifled a sigh and vanished in a swirl of black. She'd see to the rest of this herself, though she was sure Yuuto at least would join her soon. There would be no escape for the demon this time.

She held back a bit, letting the scene play out... But then Christine arrived and thus it was time to reveal herself.

"Save your breath, Christine," Clara spoke cooly. "You're quite right, this is not your sister. She may or may not still be in there, somewhere, but your voice can't reach her now. I suggest you help me subdue this vile thing and we'll see to your sister later... Assuming there's anything left to see to."

She then looked to David.

"You there, boy... Mr. D'artagnan was it? I'll reiterate it for you. Do not get too cozy with that thing. It has nothing but lies to offer you. It is a demon. Get clear or offer us assistance, but do not stay in the line of fire long if you value your safety."

Wolf lay in a cot along with some of the less injured participants. People who'd overdone it but hadn't exactly had their limbs bent backwards or been lit on fire. He really didn't want to be there. Even Nas who'd been chewed on by imps wasn't stuck in there with him. He'd still been able to walk once he'd been patched up.

Michael was, but he'd been taken somewhere else. He had been bent and lit on fire...

"Well, well. They actually made you work for that one, eh?" A familiar voice spoke.

"Dad? How did you-?" Wolf looked up to see his father walk over and take a seat by his cot.

"Oh please, I pretty much have a free pass in most places. No one's stopping me from visiting my child," he said. "So... Meredith sure gave you a challenge there..." He could see the man's concern.

"Yeah... She's... Different... For some reason."

"A bit of her other side poking through, no doubt," Guntram said. "Be careful, Wolf, everyone has a true nature hiddy deep down inside them. Something more pure that can be impossible to erase. But, well, if it's you I'm sure it will work out."

"I... Yeah..." Wolf wasn't sure. His father hadn't been face to face with her. It had been startling.

"By the way, I didn't see Vera when I got here. I was a bit late, you see. We did have seats next to each other, but she wasn't there when I arrived. Seemed to miss your whole match."

Wolf's face fell. He'd won, hadn't he? Wasn't that enough? Why would Vera skip out on his match? Had she even watched any of them?

"Go back to your seat, dad." Wolf sat up. "My phone is in my locker, I'll go call her."

"Should you be moving?" The man asked.

"I'm fine. Just tired," Wolf insisted and wobbled his way out of the medical area. He made his way to the Vigilante locker area and retrieved his phone before sitting down on a bench with an achey sigh.

He saw one notification waiting for him, a text. Opening it, he saw it was from Vera.

help

Below it was some sort of link and a number. With hands shaking he tapped it. It took him to an app store of all places. A... Tracking app? He was starting to catch on even as his panic grew. He could hear some sort of commotion outside now, but ignored it. He installed it and then keyed in the number from the text. A short time later he was looking at a dot on a map. It told him the phone that he'd been tracking was offline and that this was its last know location. He didn't know the place. It made no sense yet somehow he knew what had happened...

With a sudden tunnel vision he stood, legs no longer shaking, and marched out of the locker room like a man possessed.
Medical Pavilion

It seemed like the quarterfinal matches where were the intensity finally had knocked up a notch. Celestine had wished to end his boring and trite task of telling people not to move, lest they would reopen their wounds. but not this way, in any regard. He was happy for Bak, as her team (including the lovely Christine and the wet noodle man, who had been surprisingly fierce this time) had vanquished the Vigilantes. But part of his contract meant he'd have to care for those idiots who had gotten a face full of Bak's appreciation missiles.

The problem number one was that one of them was the deliciously naive Demon Lady of Despair, which he carefully drove to a small, secluded and quiet section of the pavillion. She needed recover, and YOLOman's yells would certainly not help. Nor those coming from the Bishamonten nun school, a trio of hapzard girls who had been throughoutly grounded. Well, St Laurel's reputation was not entirely undeserved.

Of course, he had to bring Bak where Andras had been (and left the other injuried teammates on other physician's skilled hands, as he particulary regretted letting the lovely Christine go a separate way, but business was business). But no sooner he had put Andras comfortable, and did some emergency dressing-repairs into Bak, that match three had ended. With a Saint Laurel's defeat.

Ria was carted in, yelling and scruffing, but a morphine injection left her pleased enough daydreaming of plucking birdboys and batbitches alike. That was some funny hallucination, Celestine thought. And someone who had not seen in a while. Diana. The delicate once girlfriend of his, on and off dance partner and forever broke witch. Bak seemed to hate witches, so he omitted the details of Diana's persuasion while he plugged an IV in her delicate wrist. Someone had throughoutly drained her of all power.

The fight must have been all kinds of fierce, because one of the vigilantes had been carted in the room for him to tend to his wounds. This one had Diana's handiwork written on him. Well at least the witch had not sold the victory cheap.

There was also a racuous set of breasts that were trying to squeeze past the entry. But Cel denied it wisely. The Saint laurel's girl, who had the hallmarks of a demon of lust demanded to be in the same room as her besties, but the effeminate doctor slammed his folder into her face, telling her to go silent.

Besides, her wounds were regenerating, so that didn't warrant much medical help. She hoped that stupid Meredith hadn't woken up Diana or Andras with her yapping... Or antagonized Bak.

The pavillion wasn't missile proof.

Bak stood quietly in her little part of the pavilion, keeping her hands to herself and trying not to move too much lest she wake any of the other only slightly conscious people around her. She'd been separated from Rurik and Christine and left to stew next to the demon vigilante they'd knocked out. There was just about nothing to do but watch the matches that were playing on one of the screens helpfully set up so the injured could watch the tournament. After all, she could blow Celestine's cover if she acted too familiar with her...him...whatever.

So she stood there for a while. More people got rolled in. She frowned when the Vigilante's managed to snatch victory in their other match, which surprised her. She hadn't expected to be rooting for St. Laural's. With the end of that match Cel wheeled in two more patients, the sleeping girl and an acidic type whose ankle Cel expertly put in a cast to settle while she went on about "that brainless feathery asshole" ruining everything until she was given a dose of something. Then she just kind of mumbled about brainless feathery assholes. Bak could relate. The bird boy was the only one she had not yet had her revenge on.

While Celestine had some kind of altercation with the third member of that team the two of them were rolled in beside Bak, placing her between them and the vigilante girl. The mumbler stopped mid rant when she saw Bak, her eye darting around as if to take in every last disgusting detail of the living train-wreak she was witnessing up close, then wearily rolled over to look for a more pleasant hallucination.

Bak wondered if it was taking this long for Rurik and Christine.

She looked back again at the demon vigilante that hadn't really woken up since they'd gotten here. There were some burns on her, the sight of which brought Bak's hand up to caress her own arm, but Bak honestly had no idea what from. It hadn't been her, and Christine was ice so that didn't work. Maybe Rurik? No, he couldn't spit fire as far as she knew. Oh, wait!

Bak reached into a pocket and pulled out the cards she'd gotten earlier. Maybe Christine had gotten some of these too, like her and Rurik had. Where had they come from? She vaguely recalled a female voice chanting...something. Some kind of spell. She looked back down at the vigilante. In the heat of it blasting her had felt so fun, but she was really only guilty by association. Bak looked around to make sure no one was looking, then placed the three cards she's been given on the girls chest. "I think these are yours." She whispered. "Thank you for your help."

Cel never had a moment of respite. No sooner he had been dealing with the huge-breasted demonic first-year, one of his patients regained consciousness due to the prompt treatment. Diana looked groggily around. She looked left. She looked right. Lightbringer was in the room, and so was the vigilante she took down. But right next to her was a girl clad in atrocious energies, grotesquely mutated as if she was a mockery of a golem. The half demon Meredith was besides the door. But then she noticed what should not be. The vortex of immense, unlimited metaphysical energies stuck in a girl's eyesocket. She was not that different from her, but she felt like getting the hell away. She let a loud, girly shriek as she scampered to Cel's back, her hands shaky.

"Light-Lightbringer. Get rid of them!!" Diana pleaded.

Andras was awoken by a scream. She groaned, as a girl's voice kept speaking up. Andras's body was aching from the serious beat down she recieved. Despite all of the jobs she did for the Vigilantes, she never was quite roughed up this badly.

She took the momentous effort to turn to see what was causing the ruckus. It was just some elementary schooler... Andras groggily managed to speak up. "Quiet down... Someone make her stop yelling..."

She rested her hand over the Root. Of all the things that hurt, it was definitely that. Yelling kids wasn't helping, even though Andras usually got along well enough with kids.

Michael opened his eyes, also awoken from the scream, although to him the sound, was muffled from his still half-asleep brain. It took a moment for him to focus on what was going on, and realize where he was. He recalled what had happened from his last moments of clarity. He was trying to focus on determining the severity of his wounds so he wouldn't pass out, and somewhere along the line he had heard the announcement that his team had won the match. That was the last thing he remembered.

Looking around, Michael soon realized he was in some sort of medical room, and the other occupants were all combatants from the tournament. He recognized a few, like Bak and Diana, while others were not as well known to him. And looking around at the actual situation at hand, well... Michael wasn't sure what to think. The girl that had thrashed him so horribly was now acting like the young girl she appeared to be, seemingly afraid of the one with an eyepatch.

All in all, it was nothing to write home about. Still, Michael glanced at Andras before turning to Diana and raising an eyebrow. He didn't really understand the problem. As far as he knew, the two had no reason for this, which made it all the more curious.

Bak was rather more direct. "Dumb girl, this is hospital. YOU HAVE TO BE QUIET!"

It was far too noisy, the physician and Mephisto alumnus thought. Diana's sudden outburst amidst the confusion and the strangeness of those involved certainly did not help. She seemed to react to... Andras of all things. Poor Witch of Bones, she must have been hit harder than he initially thought. "It's okay, Diana... they're patients." He said in a reasurring voice to the distraught woman. He looked at Andras. Then at Bak.

A sharp jab of a needle afterwards, the frail and lithe figure of the Witch sprawled on his arms, before he returned her to her assigned bed. "Well, this is getting a little crowded, it seems." Celestine tried his best to keep his temper. It was then when the titty monster squeezed past the door, her bosom trying to press against the doctor's in a hasty attempt to use her wiles. He struggled to maintain balance against such heavy instruments.

"You know, I can make them be all nice and better in a jiffy." She said in a sultry voice, before trying to clasp her arms around a slightly strained and not very impressed Celestine. She dabbed on her own blood , her hands deftly tracing in the air....

"No." The sharp and nimble grip of the doctor had seized the half-demon's throat who was now gasping for air. "None of that. These people need rest. You are -not- helping." He firmly said. Meredith tried to grasp her demonic strenght but he was far too quick. A sharp knee to the liver, and she was rolling in the ground, before a final kick in the butt unceremoniously booted the demonic tramp out of the makeshift clinic.

"Stay out of here or I will report you to Saint Laurel's . Those seniors don't like even half of a demon, I tell you." He said. And believe me, I know those bastards first hand. He added mentally. Had he been in a different guise he would have played with the girl. She had a killer body, and even more bosom than the Ice Queen of Mephisto's. But she had to be stopped.

"Lightbringer stop touching me there..." The witch mumbled in her sleep. Well, maybe sedating her had not been the best idea either...

While Ria chuckled groggily at Mer's rough treatment Bak looked at Celestine very curiously, eyes sifting from the sleeping girl mumbling in her sleep to them and back. Those two knew each other? At least the girl seemed too.

It caught Bak a little off guard. Sort of like how seeing your teacher out of school was a mind blowing experience for a young child, Bak has never considered that Celestine had a real social circle outside of the Mephisto's...circle. She hadn't really thought of any of her friends like that. It made since though, not all of them could be like her or Vittorio. It just wasn't as though they were bringing their other friends to party in that dark basement.

"Doctor I do not know?" She asked. "Are you so friendly with all patients?"

"Oh they fuckin'...." Ria said, head listing to the side and burying her good eye in her pillow.

"What!?!" Bak asked, mortified that someone could just come out and suggest something like that.

"Or she wanna fuckin'..." Ria replied her voice muffled by the pillow.

Celestine gave a shrug. "Not really Tsarevna. I just ran into an acquantaince that sedatives make her believe i am the man of her dreams. Sometimes it happens. Kohler over there was dreaming of a boy too." He said, choosing his wording to make it seem Ria had a thing for whatever bird boy was. A little payback.

Michael watched, with mild interest, as the situation was finally defused. It was a shame that Diana got sedated, though. He wanted to ask her about that magic she had performed, particularly about that dispel. Perhaps he would get a chance another time.

"Dumb thot..." Ria mumbled, passing into a light sleep.

Bak just nodded. Wait, did that mean Vittorio was right, Celestine was a man? 2 + 2 was about to become 4 for her when when something on the screen caught her eye. It was the last match of the round, and she'd been watching it on and off for a while now. Now though, the camera was focused on Christine's sister. It wasn't surprising either, Bak knew personally how tough she was and there she was getting brutalized. She smiled as Yuto appeared, swinging his sword through her and vanishing back into the void again to avoid her counterattacks. This was definitely the climax of the match.

As things went on though that smile shrank and shrank down to nothing. Christine's sister was bleeding a lot, more than anyone she had never seen during a tournament. The camera work became shakier as the low volume voices of the commentators started becoming more....excited? No, panic. The same way Papa would talk to Mama if he heard snarling from the sheep paddoc late at night.

Then Vittorio tuned on them. Started attacking Yuto to protect Christine's sister. "Something is wrong." She said slowly, motion going for Celestine to come closer to watch. Then Vittorio threw himself at Yuuto and detonated.

"We have to go!" Bak said to Celestine, a slight twinge of panic quivering in her voice and she stomped toward the door. "He has done something foolish just as I knew he would. Come on come on! He is too weak for something like that!"

Celestine looked at the screens, his gaze narrowing. That did not look right, at all. What was that idiotic ninja doing? Was he trying to get disqualified. Then Vittorio somehow, instead of reasoning with his teammate, had directly attacked him. Odd. Vittorio was not that driven, unless...

His sight met with Bak, and then the rest of his charges. "Damn Tsarevna... I hope you are just being silly." He said as he followed.

And just as he followed out, another presence entered. Meredith, now looking dishevelled but still pretty much sound, loomed over Andras. "Hi..." She whispered. "...the prices have to be paid. Surely you understand, Demon Lady." Meredith said, as she drew a quick sleep rune on Andras forehead, before scooping her up and, with her demonic might, running away in the confusion.

Kakra was confused when her arm wouldn't follow her. She realized she was now attached to the back of Ivan's head. She then felt an incredible pressure on her wrist that soon turned into searing pain as spikes punched clean through her arm.

She screamed. She'd never felt anything like that before. She was so used to being invincible. Again she pulled only to feel something else stopping her. Her school jacket was stuck to Ivan's stump. She saw something spreading across it. She felt other little points of pressure. That got her focused again, though it was a fear driven focus. She dug her feet in, pushing away and then swung her arm like a blade at the stump, tearing her clothes free of it. She then twisted and pulled with all her might, tearing her arm free of Ivany hand, with the spikes still embedded in her. It was agony, but she was safe again. She fell onto her rear and scrambled back away.

She sat there panting, but soon realized Ivan was slow to follow her. Something seemed to be distracting him. Perhaps it was how she'd escaped as cleanly as she had.

She clenched her jaw and gripped the spikes in her arm and then pulled. They were long and at least one had hit bone. She swore she heard something crunch as she yanked them free, screaming through her teeth. She tossed them away and then held up her trembling arm. A glow washed over it and the pain and blood faded. She closed and opened her hand to prove to herself that everything was fine again.

Wide, tear stained eyes slowly turned back to Ivan. There was fear visible, but only for a moment. Now it was rage. And hate.

Fury.

Kakra sighed as she watched Ivan armor himself and charge back in. It had a lot of spikes and sharp edges, but that really didyn't concern her, so long as he didn't land too many solid hits on her. However, she wasn't planning on allowing even one. She knelt down and placed a hand on the ground, a small glow coming from it. She then took a step forward, and with unnatural speed a sunflower sprouted up behind her, though the flow itself was still shut, yet to bloom.

She then simply waited as he charged in, staring bemused at him. Once he closed in her hands shot out, once grabbing each of his wrists as he clawed at her.

"Fine. To pieces it is then." She narrowed her eyes as she twisted her grip, forcing his hands away from her. He could try to kick at her, or headbutt her, but she didn't give him the chance. She yanked him forward and kicked him in the gut, and then released his left arm. She kept his right twisted and then turned into it, aiming a palm strike through his elbow, aiming to snap the arm clean in half. His armor couldn't protect him from her just bending him til' he broke. She then stepped past him and aimed a side kick into his left knee, aiming to snap that too, or at least heavily fracture the stone joint. She finished by swinging the broken off chunk of arm into the back of his head like a makeshift club before tossing the piece of limb away. She figured he couldn't reattach it if it was lying a few dozen feet away.

"Look, quit while you still have two limbs left. I don't know what the fuck your problem is, but you're really pissing me off," Kakra muttered, stopping momentarily to press her hand to the ground again before he could regain his feet. Another flower sprouted as she turned to to face his back and await his next move.

"Wait what? Witch? I'm not a-" But he wasn't done. "Kill me?! What?! Fuck that! Try it and I'll turn you back into rubble!" Kakra bit back, baring her teeth. This was soon interrupted by Sasha's tantrum peaking. They were bombarded by light. Kakra's light barrier flared, seeming energized by it. However, the spectral chains also flickered back into existence, seeming to tighten around Kakra's body as if fighting back. Perhaps the barrier also inadvertently protected the curse. Kakra grit her teeth, clutching her head, not seeming to enjoy the experience all that much.

She thus missed Ivan's... much bloodier episode.

When she regained focus, Sasha's attack fading, she turned in time to see Alexei get putted into the distance by Ivan. A bit more vicious than even she had really intended to be in the end... And of course his next attack was for her. It seemed he was dead-set on this. She tried to lean away, but the attack grazed her forehead. Her barrier flickered and it stung. The powerful blow, even glancing, had been enough to penetrate through, though not direct enough to take down her barrier completely.

She dabbed at the spot with her fingers and they came away red. Oh that did it.

The next thing she knew though, he was rushing her. She braced herself. He hit her like a load of bricks. Her feet dug into the ground and she slid back... and then stopped. She was almost surprised, it had been a long time since she'd come out and been able to get a feel for her own power. No matter how hard he pushed against her, she wouldn't budge another inch.

"I said..." His arms had wrapped around her and her arms, but slowly she began to force herself free. "I'm not... A WITCH!" With a final explosive burst of strength she forced her arms free from his. She brought down both her fists on his back in a double hammer blow, forcing the tall bastard lower and then she grabbed him about the waist. "NOW FUCK OFF!" She lifted him up, flipping him upside down and then slamming him back to the ground head first.

She then kicked him in the back, aiming to send him tumbling away, dust and pebbles flying as stuck his stone body with tremendous force. Her body heaved once more and she took breath after seething breath. "ANYONE ELSE WANNA FUCKING TRY ME?!" She screeched with rage. It was one thing to get into a fight, but these fights weren't fun. They were just pissing her off. "Greg-. . ." Where was Gregor? "WHERE THE HELL IS MY RAT?!" She probably could have worded that better. No, it seemed she was alone on this one. She was tempted to check on Alexei, but she had a feeling Ivan would be getting back up soon. The troll had literally turned him to rubble and that hadn't been enough.

"You had enough or do I need to take you apart some more?" Kakra sneered down at the stone menace.

A vein bulged on Kakra's forehead as Alexei talked... and talked... and talked.

She was in a tempestuous mood, and if Alexei was aware of that and how dangerous that made things for him, he didn't show it. Nor act it. If he wasn't aware of it then, he would have been when Kakra suddenly hauled him off of his feet and dangled him in the air by his shirt collar. To say her grip was like iron would have been an insultingly vast understatement.

"LISTEN!" Kakra roared. "You show up, a helicopter falls out of the sky, you threaten my friend, and then get us attacked by trolls, one of which broke my brother's neck, and now you're acting like a cocky little shit!" She then drew him in so they were eye to furious eye. "So, I suggest you tell me who you are and why I should care before I try to break the world record for longest midget toss!"

She'd sort of glossed over him talking about a light. However, it was getting hard to ignore, and she was pretty sure she'd used up all her own lights. What was th-

As she stared at it, unperturbed by bright lights due to her nature, she could see if was coming from Sasha. "Oh right... her." She unceremoniously dropped Alexei, not particularly caring if he landed on his feet. It seemed she wasn't the only girl throwing a tantrum.

Kakra watched in horrified fascination as Gregor and his rats descended upon the trolls. Her trolls... That she'd been fighting... At first she was just disturbed by the excess of blood and Gore, but then she found her hands tightening into tense fists.

The talking rat poked his head out, saying they'd need fire.

"Yeah, I heard the pipsqueak!" Kakra snapped, referring to Alexei. She waved a hand, and the ball of light from earlier shot down like a missile and smote the injured troll whose skull had been torn open, searing it's brain into nothing and spreading it's skull like flower petals.

"Fine, I guess I'll take the one on the right..." She grumbled and stomped off, creating another sun burst with a flick of her wrist. Any rats unlucky enough to cross her path got a swift boot to the rear. One particularly large one turned and hissed at her in protest, but scurried off when she hissed back.

The final standing troll was doing its best to hold back the frothing whorde of rats. With it's club and regenerating flesh, the rats couldn't do much on their own. The few that could stay latched on could do little permanent damage. Kakra would fix that.

She broke into a run, catching the troll's attention. It swung its club at her as she got close and she caught it under her arm and twisted, tearing the weapon free of the larger creatures grasp. She continued her turn, building momentum as she shifted the weapon into a two handed grip, and then swung at the troll's legs.

The troll went down, leg taken out from under it. It raised a hand to try and claw at her, but she batted it away, bones shattering under the blow. She the stomped down on the troll's chest and hefted the oversized club high.

"I COME OUT..." SMASH "...ONCE IN A... BLUE MOON... BUT YOU PSYCHOS CAN'T... WAIT... ONE... FUCKING... MINUTE... TO LET ME... ENJOY... ONE... FIGHT!" Each set of words was punctuated by another vicious blow to the troll's head until the club was drenched in blood and viscera and the troll's skull was completely flattened. Her whole body heaved with each breath and she chucked the club flying with a roar, deep into forest.

She stepped away from the troll, but it suddenly sat up.

"AHH!" She explained in surprise, not thinking they were that hard to kill. Surely decapitation would have overridden any need for fire... Or so she'd incorrectly assumed. However, more by instinct than design, she quickly directed her sun burst to strike. It flew at the stump of a neck and embedded itself into the flesh, slowly crawling down into its neck. The flesh actually began to regrow around to the orb of light, creating an eerie red glow... Until it burst, leaving a sizzling crater betwixt the troll's shoulders.

It collapsed once more, leaving the corpse to be beset upon by the rats.

Kakra flicked a bit of gore off her shoulder and composed herself before turning around. Rather than enraged, she looked just mildly annoyed.

"So... Trolls, huh?" She stared at Alexei. "Should we be reporting that too?" She narrowed her eyes. It was pretty obvious that the monsters hadn't existed before his magic had gone off. She was grateful she'd been set free, but even so... Thanks to him her brother's neck had been set at a nice 90 degree angle...

And even now, with all trolls slain... Ivan might have noticed the intense glow of his tool hadn't faded in the slightest.

Kato swallowed hard. What the hell was wrong with today!? What was wrong with this guy?! There was no way his magic and these sudden monsters weren't related! Yekaterina was witch country, not... not... whatever these things were country! There was no way three monsters like this could have just snuck over to the school!

Probably.

He saw the small guy face off against the creatures... with... a flare gun and a small knife. Was he serious?!

"H-hey, wait a minute!" Kato tried to talk sense to him, but it was too late -- the first monster was on the war path. Dammit, why did this have to happen during the day? Good nature and instinct overrode common sense and Kato ran over to push Alexei clear as the monster charged in, club swinging. Kato turned to look just in time for the club to slam into his head, sending him crashing into the nearby helicopter, shattering what was left of the cockpit canopy, and leaving his body draped over the reinforcing metal.

His lifeless form slowly slid to the ground at Alexei's feet, neck at a jagged angle and blank eyes staring off into space.

Then his body suddenly began glowing until it was completely enshrouded in a cocoon of pure light. He stood up and when the light faded... it was Kato anymore.

It was a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. She reached down and tightened the belt at her waist, keeping her pants from slipping off of her more slender waist. She then looked up at the sky and took a deep breath.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! IT'S BEEN NEARLY TWO YEARS!" She shouted at the top of her lungs. The creature however, while momentarily transfixed by the light-show, was back on the move. It swung at Kakra and she threw up both arms, catching the weapon, her body covered in a shell of light. Her face turned red as she strained against the weapon. The monster soon gave up on the power struggle and pulled back, just winding up another swing, but Kakra jumped back, landing on top of the chopper. "I'm just gonna enjoy this!" she grinned and leapt forward, launching a flying knee into the monster's face before it could recover from its missed swing.

The monster staggered back, regrouping with the rest of its trio.

Kakra threw her arm out, a mass of light shooting over to Gregor, covering him in a rolling shroud of flowing light.

"OK! Gregor, you take the one on the right, I'll get the one on the left, and whoever wins first gets the last one!" she called out. It would have been the first time Gregor would have seen Kakra herself, or heard her voice. Before then, he'd have simply seen her occasionally posses Kato, but it was always his voice regardless of who was driving.

If Gregor needed one last shred of evidence to prove that this was the fabled Kakra who Kato insisted lived inside him, the same flowing shroud of energy ignited over her body on top of the shell of light and her eyes flashed orange, just like when she took over Kato's body.

She strutted forward confidentially, grinning madly as she did so. Even as the beasts roared and screeched, she didn't flinch. This seemed to throw the creatures off balance, not knowing what to make of some feeble human being so fearless. She stopped in front of the leftmost one, tilting her head back to look it the eye, daring it to take a shot at her.

It took the dare.

It swung its club at her, and this time she raised but one arm to meet it. Her hand clamped down on the weapon, stopping it dead. The weapon trembled as their might clashed. Her grip tightened and the wood creaked and splintered. Finally the weapon had enough and snapped in half, the beast falling to a knee as it overswung. It lifted it's head and roared, baring its maw as Kakra, but she threw up her other hand and a spark of light came to life, shining directly into the creature's eyes.

She let it go, and the light drifted up into the sky, but before the creature could recover, she smashed the half of the club still in her hand across its jaw, knocking it clean on its ass. She then brushed her hands off casually. However, the beast soon propped itself up, jaw hanging loosely at a weird angle with teeth missing and blood gushing. However, the bleeding stooped a second later and the jaw cracked back into place under its own power.

And she coulda sworn she saw teeth slowly regrowing.

"Ah, shit..." Kakra grumbled... before the middle beast cracked her in the back of the head. Unlike before, instead of going flying, she simply stumbled forward. "That was ch-" And then it hit her again... and again... pummeling her into the ground in a frenzy.

It gave a final, bloodthirsty roar before inspecting its handy work, seeming pleased that she wasn't moving anymore. It then seemed annoyed by something. The ball of light that Kakra had created was steadily growing brighter. The two beasts roared and screeched at it, flailing at it, clearly wanting to tear it from the sky and end its blinding presence and keep it from stinging their eyes.

A crackling noise got their attention back away from it though. Kakra had regained her feet and was arching her back, snapping it back into place.

"That one stung," her lip curled as she spoke. The second charged her, swinging its club, but Kakra wound up a punch and splintered it in one go. She then kept going with a second to its gut, and finishing with a third to its face as it doubled over. The first was already rushing in next, but her momentum kept going as she rounded on it. It clawed at her, but she spun around, grabbing and twisting its meaty wrist, causing it to tumble head over heel as its own momentum sent it sprawling.

"Hey, Gregor? How's it going over there?" She called out as the two monsters attempted to collect themselves. She could beat on them all day, but they could put themselves back together almost as well as she could... and she didn't have all day. She needed to figure out how to kill them.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the school, a certain farming implement would begin to tremble... and then glow.
