I always miss the fun stuff and references. Now I'll be wondering what 2011 was referring to.

@King Kindred Just as side comment regarding the last post. The chakra of dispelled clones returns to the original user, so she wouldn't have used THAT much chakra. And both the body flicker and chakra coating aren't really high caliber jutsu. Sorry if I'm a bit picky about the details of Jutsu.

Yeah, I read the part about the chakra returning on the wiki, but I don't remember it being said in the actual material.

Edit: Just checked the reference chapter/pages for it, and I don't know if it's a different translation, but it doesn't say that a dispelled clone's chakra goes back to the user. Just that once the Sage clones from Mount Myoboku are summoned their sage chakra goes into Naruto. But if the chakra goes back to them when they're dispelled I think it's when it's either they're manually dispelled by the user or when the user absorbs their chakra for themselves causing the clone to dispel.

In Rin's case her first clone was destroyed by Akio's clone and Naruto never seemed to regain chakra after his clones were destroyed by someone else.

Sorry. I'm picky about jutsu details as well. Years of Naruto Rp's will do that to a person.

Edit 2: And although chakra coating and body flicker aren't high caliber jutsu doing them multiple times in succession would drain chakra. Plus if the shuriken aren't made specially for absorbing chakra, like Asuma's blade and the White Fang's saber, then it'd cost more chakra than normal to coat them with an element.
JC's idea to bring Sentinel along was shut down by Simone. He didn't think bringing the speedster around would have been that much better even if he didn't have a "weakness" to magic. If you thought about it pretty much all of them had a weakness to magic. Well, all of them except for maybe Evan and Zane. And that was a stretch there too. "He wouldn't be in any more danger than any of us would be. I think Sentinel would be better for the mission than Accelerate." He stopped when Rhea started expressing her worries for the mission as a whole. She had a point about not being sure if they'd be able to leave Tartarus. He wasn't sure if they'd be able to leave himself, but he wasn't going to let them know that.

"This is the last resort for us, Rhea. We have no other way to bring those people back. Heroes have to make sacrifices and this probably won't even be the biggest one that we have to make. We're still young. We'll make it out of there. As long as we don't eat anything down there. And considering the metabolism thing for speedsters Accelerate is definitely not the one we need to have down there." Soon after he gave that miniature speech/backing to his reason for not bringing along Accelerate Ariel started to speak and brought up her opinion.

"Ariel's right. The ones staying here really shouldn't bring more attention to themselves and especially not by making noise with Sentinel at the helm. Luthor's used to dealing with the likes of Superman. A weaker version of him who can't fly shouldn't be a problem. He's more in danger up here than he'd be down there. The four of us will go down to Tartarus and the rest of you will make sure that you don't draw any attention to yourselves. If you need to go outside do so in civilian clothes with hoodies. We don't need facial recognition software easily finding you. Anymore objections?" He was serious now. He figured out in his head that his plan was the best plan and that if they followed it then everything would be alright. The citizens will live again, the Teen Titans wouldn't be seen as total menaces, and they'd return home. As long as any unforeseen circumstances didn't jump out at them like a 4-D horror movie then they'd be fine.
Boss... Arashi kind of liked the sound of that. He wouldn't let it get to his head, but he did like the sound of it. He tried to ignore the stench of Seth's puke while looking at him. "You should wait. You'd be a hindrance or dead in your current state if you jumped in. And why did you have chocolate for breakfast?" He looked over to the battle scene where the Mist Shinobi was using a jutsu that hardened his arm that he called Earth Spear.

The girl from the Hyuuga clan came up to them and tried to come up with a plan. It sounded like it could have worked, but Seth was still a liability. Though it now seemed that they didn't need the plan after all. The Earth Spear hit Hayashi's clone fortunately, but also knocked their sensei into the pond causing him to lose the bells on the ground. He had conceded battle to them.

He turned to Rin when she claimed that she had barely used up any chakra. Either she had Jinchuuriki levels of chakra or she was lying. Everything she used should have used up a pretty good amount of chakra. All of those body flickers, coating her shuriken in lightning chakra, and the shadow clones that took up about half of the reservoir each time they were made.

Arashi shook his head and walked over to the bells and reached to pick them up. "Looks like we really did it."
<Snipped quote by King Kindred>

Normally top genin have at least one B rank technique.

They usually just have D or C unless they're given it for plot/character development. But it's really up to Alan to decide if it's acceptable or not.
@Weird Tales

Hey, Earth Spear isn't a genin level jutsu. It's B-Ranked.
Woohoo! Score 1 for Arashi! Very tempted to post again but I'll let the others post first.
Arashi was almost surprised that he tricked them like that. This just made things even more interesting. While Akio started talking about their technique and him providing a handicap, Arashi was already planning on how to use this whole situation to his advantage. He cancelled both his scattering crow jutsu and henge jutsu. When the smoke cleared from the cancellation of the crows only one Arashi could be seen and that was the real Arashi. His clone was now gone and he was waiting for the perfect time to use him. He wanted this to be perfect and not a wasted effort. That's what their attacks seemed to be right now.

Arashi watched how the others reacted to Akio and took interest in the Kirigakure shinobi. This was his first time seeing a technique like his. He decided that this wouldn't be the best time to use himself or his clone without having knowledge of the slime spear. He didn't think that the mist shinobi would care about anyone getting in the way. He didn't seem to like the Uchiha clan and from the sounds of it he didn't like Konoha either. Yeah, this team exercise wasn't going the way it should have. That could all change. They still had the time to change, didn't they?

Akio then pointed out that they weren't communicating with each other. That was easier said than done. If they talked to each other they could risk him finding out their plan of action. They needed to be able to understand what each one was doing without talking. It was a deep level of a connection that they hadn't reached yet.

Seth was being hot headed again and charged in without thinking. He seemed to have a plan, but that plan seemed to fail due to lack of chakra. He was going to be in for a rude awakening if no one helped him out. Now was the time.

Arashi quickly formed a tiger seal and seemingly disappeared without a trace. He was using the technique that his father was known for and doing it almost as good as he did. He'd soon be visible where Seth was grabbing hold of him and disappearing again with him while leaving a surprise on the floor where they once were. Arashi fell to the ground a good bit of distance away from their sensei now. He was slowly panting before letting go of Seth. "Release," he barely whispered while waiting for the explosive tag to go off right in front of Akio. He knew that their sensei would be alright. An explosive tag wouldn't be enough to take him down. That however was only part of Arashi's plan.

His clone would appear behind Akio using the sound from the explosion as cover while reaching around to grab the bells.
I've been out all day so I'm going to take a quick nap and then get a post up.
Dang. I was hoping to get a post in before you posted again.
I think it might be coming to an end soon. Even if they don't get the bells right here most of them spent a lot of chakra already to where they wouldn't be able to complete the exercise.

Though that could then leave an opening for Izu to join if he jumps in after they become useless.
