Current I'm going to have to take a break for awhile. One of my dogs just passed; we went to bed together like we always do and when I woke up she was gone. I feel awful right now.

Had a fun birthday. Had some alligator tail for dinner, overall was pretty good for a place I hadn't been to before. Will start getting back into the groove of things soon.

i told you to stop spying
Location: Wolkwitz Auditorium, Merryweather Institute

"I don't think it'll be long. They probably just want to welcome us to the school."

Following the now-swarming crowd, Sarah continued to lead Elena, taking a staircase down to the bottom floor. She made no move to use the railing, her uncertainty and fear rising once again. Static was one thing, but the thought of a human barbeque was another. Metal was a strong conductor of electricity. Holding the railing, Sarah feared, without the slightest thought of how to control her powers, was sure to give everyone a good zap—or worse.

Not wanting to make a scene, however, Sarah continued her hastily hurry out of the building. She hoped Elena might brush it off; that she just didn't want to be late... and wasn't stuck on the thought of frying people to a crisp.

"If I remember correctly," Sarah began to explain, turning to Elena. Better to keep acting the part if she wanted Elena to think so. "The Wolkwitz auditorium should be right across this courtyard."

Taking the lead once more, Sarah walked across the stone-brick pathway, and towards the large auditorium building. As they entered, she immediately looked around the auditorium in a search for seats for herself and her roommate. Even though they had arrived early to the auditorium, it was clear that the building had been filling up fast with attendees. Finding their seats as soon as possible would help them stay out of the stampede of students that were now charging into the auditorium.

That's when Sarah spotted them—a purple-haired girl, legs propped up on the seats in front, and a towering giant, whose face appeared marked with scars. It seems she might've had more in common with her fellow students here than she originally thought.

"Do you mind if we sit with you?" Sarah politely asked, motioning to the empty seats beside the two of them.

Anyone playing the Sims 1/2 again now with the re-release?
Hey, everyone. I know I haven't posted yet, but I wanted to address this roleplay and its activity.

Roughly half of the accepted cast is still MIA in regards to posting, activity, etc. I have brought up this roleplay to some of the individuals in the past, with some saying that they're still interested in the roleplay. Despite this, it seems about only four people are engaged with this roleplay at this point of time (myself included).

I know some people have things going on IRL. Hell, I've had quite the start to 2025 myself (catching the flu, grandma getting in a car accident, etc.). Still, I find it difficult to continue a roleplay when the engagement level isn't there, especially from people I invited to this roleplay. While Starlight may have undertones of a "tell-your-own-story" sandbox, when half of the town doesn't show up/posts, it isn't much of a town (or roleplay for that matter) to begin with.

So, with that being said: I'm going to be putting Starlight on the back burner for now and shelving it. I'm certain that this won't be a surprise (or maybe it is, who knows) that I'm going this route, but I just wanted to let you all know rather than perpetually ghost this roleplay as a/the GM.

"I'll try to get there as soon as I can." Kali replied, thankful that Liana was taking her advice. She just hoped that her roommate would be able to stay safe long enough for them to reach her place of work. "And I'll keep calling as long as I can. Just find somewhere to hide until we get there."

A piece of Kali didn't want to hang up the phone; the uncertainty of the situation eating away at her gut. Hearing Liana's voice was a lifeline: a way of knowing she was okay. Nonetheless, the need to gather supplies was still important, which would allow them to evacuate in a timely manner, and reach her roommate.

With a rather emotional farewell, Kali ended the call and turned to Isaac. "Isaac, I need your help." Kali asked, producing her apartment key from her purse. "They're saying we need to evacuate. My roommate is safe, but I need your help in getting us—and her—out of here."

"I'm going to go grab some things that we need from my apartment. Food, some clothes and other things." Kali explained to her boss. "Can you help Gladys? The faster we're out of here, the better."
