Current Two days ago, Noble Arms is indisputably four years old, spread out across three threads, and the third thread is still ongoing and about to reach the endgame...

Noble Arms is now either four years old, or three years and eleven months. The third thread had lasted for more than one year.

My Roleplay, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, will reach its 4th year in June or July. It's been a long journey.

@Endeavor, Hello!

Academy of Noble Arms - The Golden Generation

In the twilight of World War II, a mysterious power surfaced among select humans. This power, the Noble Arm, was the ability to conjure up a paranormal weapon that can defy the laws of physics, a weapon innate in the user's mind and summoned by their will into reality. For reasons that are still unexplainable despite years of research, Noble Arms only take the form of weapons from before the First World War, however, despite the antiquity of these forms, the power they bear to the battlefield is unlike anything modern technology has been able to produce.

The ability to manipulate the elements to the user's will.

Forces that can reduce matter down to atoms in seconds.

The strength to withstand the explosion of a nuclear missile.

All of these powers, and more wondrous and terrifying abilities, come with Noble Arms. Thus, the ones who bear them, the Arms Masters, are sought after by countries all around the world. Where once the strength of a country was decided by the technological strength of their Army, it is now judged by the power of their Arms Masters.

But this state of affairs has produced sadness and strife; the world was not prepared for the possibility of superhumans, people who just by existing, challenge the notion of equality between men. And so Arms Masters and Normal Humans live in an uneasy state of coexistence, with radicals on both sides wishing to shatter the peace and dominate one another.

Focus now on the Trinidad Noble Arms Academy (Full name: Armamento Sanctuario la Trinidad de Filipinas: Armaments Sanctum Trinity of the Philippines). Based in the Philippines, Trinidad is an international school known for its relatively low standards and high graduation rate. It is a school that produces second-rate and mediocre Arms Masters, with no notable achievements save one: It was the Academy that produced the Hero of 1987, Angelito Jaime who single-handedly ended the war between the ASEAN member nations and China before it had even begun.

Now, though its reputation is tattered and its results unspectacular, Trinidad remains a highly populated Academy, boasting of a population of over 2000 students. This is due in part to Trinidad's unique scholarship system that allows the lower class, who normally are unable to enroll in an Arms Masters Academy, to enroll. However, this year, things have changed; the director has suddenly passed-away and another one has taken his place. This Director is driven, determined, and powerful. He has announced that he would be remaking the Academy into a first-rate producer of Arms Masters around the world, and he would take that first step by announcing the schools participation in the Noble Arms Summit - an international meet for all Arms Masters, and the main event is the Noble Arms Summit Student Tournament. The Director will achieve this goal by all means; even if it means culling down hundreds of incapable students.

What path will you take, on the dawn of this sudden revolution?

Akira Ayumu

Akira’s eyes opened wide with fear as the Sweepers directly attacked the Reactor itself, killing their own commander in order to pursue a more efficient course of action. Dammit all! Was this the fall of the Reactor? If only they had… Then it came to him like a flash of lightning - Ironic because that was what he was going to suggest next.

“Anyone with Lightning Materia, rain down electricity on the Sweepers!” Akira shouted desperately at the top of his voice. “Keep shocking them until they fall! It’s our last chance!”

He looked at Jessie, hoping she'd second his strongly-worded suggestion and also that the Sweepers didn't turn out to have insulation against electricity. Whether she did or not, Akira continued, “The rest of you without Lightning Materia, hurl what you have left - Bullets, Explosives, Molotovs or even Rocks! I'll cure and use Aero, too!”

Once the door exploded into bits, hopefully his suggestion would be followed. Hopefully some mercenaries actually had Lightning Materia, or failing that, Swift Bolts, Bolt Plumes, or other items which generated lightning. If they didn't, then he hoped they still had firepower. But whatever happened, it was clear that circumstances were out of his control due to his powerset being sub-optimal to fighting large and powerful enemies. This meant that all he can do was cure, cure more, and send the occassional gust of wind or tornado at the enemy. Or... or... Dammit, this was going to be a hard decision, but the alternative was for everyone, including him, to die.

Trying to commune with Kanade once more, Akira tried to see if his friend was already on her way. <Kanade, you here ->

A glimpse of swift winds, of the 'thrumming' of motorbikes and smoke and the sounds of gunfire. And was that the sound of helicopter rotors? <Oh, no.>

Realizing that Kanade cannot help right now, Akira said, <The Fort is falling - Shinra Robots have gotten inside - And while there's a last-ditch counterattack, it might fail. Kanade, I know you have your own problems right now and you can't help, so I'll make this simple - I'm handing myself over if we lose. Rescue me when you can.>

Akira then snapped back to the living world, and looked around to see if Jessie and the Mercs were still alive and if they had been doing as he suggested. If the former - And he hoped it was the former, the boy would say two words, "Healing Wind."

A gust of shimmering, blue-green air would fill the courtyard/chamber beyond the reactor doors, closing the injuries and replenishing the blood of anyone still left alive but injured. This would not affect enemies, obviously, and robots even less so. If enough allies were left or by some miracle, they won and/or had enough Lightning Materia/Bolt Plumes left to forge a fighting chance, Akira will fight on and not hand himself over. But if not, he'd announce his name and that he was the son of Kirin Ayumu, whom they'd hopefully recognize from Shinra's prisoner files, and... Okay, that plan was flawed.

Best to hope that the defenders had eked out a victory or had a chance, to, then...
This RP is still ongoing.
I nerfed WIlliam's spells (on the Character Tab)!

Akira Ayumu

As all three Sweepers came into view, Akira froze up in fear for a split-second before turning to Jessie to ask for help. But before he could speak, an entire squad of mercenaries were shredded by one of the Sweepers, torn apart by bullets and rendered beyond help by healing magic. This caused the remaining friendly troops to begin running up the mountain, their morale broken.

Obviously, this rendered them sitting ducks before the Shinra assault, which resumed with new vigor especially as the mercenaries were also in a position to be picked off by the Sweepers’ guns. Akira had to do something to turn the tide, to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, but how? Even as stress and fear built up within him, he knew that his Healing Wind was not going to be useful when his allies were just going to be shot one second later -

“Run, boy!” one of the last mercenaries to flee shouted at him (and maybe Jessie), and Akira was snapped out of his thoughts. Zig-zagging to throw off the enemy’s aim, the boy ran upwards, hoping that Jessie was safe. As the carnage escalated into new heights, such that there was a dead body every few meters, Akira focused on surviving, knowing he could not let himself die or fall into Shinra hands. Even if they kept him alive for vile experiments, they can use him to get at Kanade... No! He’d survive this! He’d call upon every reserve of strength he had left, everything given to him by his mother’s Ninja training!

And so the boy continued running, hopefully glimpsing Jessie from time to time to see if she was still safe.

The sound of the shooting seemed to fade as they got closer to Fort Condor and its reactor - The last fallback position was the Fort and Reactor itself, where the Condor Egg was being incubated. On the way to the reactor door, ruined Catapults and Stoners were strewn all throughout the ground, more signs of a near-total rout. But from what Akira remembered, there was cause for hope. For the Fort Condor Leader had said to him and the other mercs before...

The enemy won’t want the Reactor damaged, so they’d send their Commander - Grand Horn, if I recall correctly - To take it personally. On the rare occasions where we got beaten all the way back to the Reactor, they’d send the Commander to duel our best mercs, and if the Commander was killed, Shinra retreats to fight another day.

So Akira was betting that the Sweepers won’t be sent against the Reactor itself, or if they were, they’d be on unfavorable ground. For two things had changed: One, he was now stressed and pissed, and that meant his Limit Break can be used. And two, he was planning to stand with the best of the best of Fort Condor’s remaining mercs, as well as Jessie of AVALANCHE, against Grand Horn or the Sweepers.

Assuming that Shinra was going for a duel. Assuming that he was right. Assuming that Shinra wasn’t prepared to let its honor dip further into the negatives.

A sense of foreboding swept through the boy - Something important was going to happen here, and not just because Kanade, his fellow Half-Cetra, was coming. A new narrative was going to be woven soon, a new narrative for the Planet...
