Whether you're returning to Harbor Crest Academy or walking through our gates for the very first time... welcome home. If today feels a little overwhelming, don't worry—you aren't the only one trying to remember where your classes are, wondering if you packed everything, or pretending you totally didn't spend the last ten minutes trying to decode your schedule. Give it a week. You'll find your rhythm. Now, before everyone disappears into the sea of backpacks and classroom doors, there are just a few things worth covering. First—and probably the announcement you've all been waiting for—Harbor Crest officially begins the year without a uniform requirement. Student Government spent a long time working alongside Administration to make it happen, and we're proud to finally see it become a reality. We trust you to represent Harbor Crest with pride, so make good choices. Clothing should remain school-appropriate, anything promoting violence, hate, or gang affiliation isn't permitted, and if you ever want to show off your Tide spirit, you'll find plenty of Harbor Crest apparel waiting in the Student Store. Next up: your Student I.D. Think of it as your boarding pass for campus life. Keep it with you. You'll need it for entering and exiting campus, checking out library materials, attending school events, and verifying approved free periods. If yours decides to vanish sometime between first period and lunch—which, let's be honest, happens every year—the Administration Office can issue a replacement for a small fee. Speaking of schedules, Harbor Crest runs on a block schedule designed to give you more time in each classroom and less time rushing between eight different subjects every day. On High Tide days, you'll attend your odd-numbered classes: First, Third, Fifth, and Seventh. Low Tide days are reserved for your even-numbered classes: Second, Fourth, Sixth, and Eighth. Every so often, we'll have Swell Days, when every class meets for shorter periods to accommodate assemblies, special events, or other campus-wide activities. If you're ever unsure what kind of day it is, check the calendar posted throughout campus, on our website, or through the Harbor Crest app. As you settle in, don't be afraid to branch out. Join a club. Audition for the play. Try out for a team. Sit with someone new at lunch. Sometimes you really don't need a brick-wall-of-text to get the point across. ⥺ To be considerate towards everyone in the roleplay, the maximum time limit between posts will be a total of 10-days maximum, though we would like to adhere to a weekly deadline. This deadline, however, can be extended with previous communication with the GMs. Should you not post by this time, we shall shamelessly spam you to see what’s up.
