If they are both available, then I'd like to reserve King Ghidorah as my character :D The artwork is cool, but I think I'd like to be a male Ghidorah, mostly for what I have in mind for his personality. Idk, it's up for grabs at the moment.

I actually prefer King Ghidorah or Mothra, mostly The Thousand Year Old Dragon. If they are taken, that's okay, but I'd like to be one or the other if possible :D

This has taken my interest... and I'm not entirely sure why xD Maybe it's my mental image of a human Godzilla getting in a catfight with a human Gamera... *shrug* (I know that they could be male as well, but one could dream...)

For the kaiju, Godzilla will be in my possession and will be according to what you see a female. I just love the design choice the artist put into it. Of course, there's artwork of male Goji but one goji is enough for now.

However... Gamera isn't taken. If you want to have him, feel free to use him.

Anyways, RP will start once I have enough interest.

So there's been an idea running around my head for awhile recently about a new RP. While this idea isn't exactly new, I feel like it can still be done regardless. With the popularity of kaiju been going up ever since both the 2014 Godzilla movie was released, along with Japan's Shin Gojira movie coming up in less than two weeks, I've been thinking on making a RP revolve around these giant monsters of pop fiction.

But this one is going to be quite different. While recent RPs I've seen revolve around a plot based on Pacific Rim and other giant mecha anime like Evangelion, this RP will revolve around both classes and more with the original Godzilla, Gamera, and Ultraman titles... with an unexpected curveball added to the mix. That curveball? Well, to make them as if they were super natural humans, otherwise known as Gijinka. Basically you'll have these anthropomorphic kaiju humans walking around, while ALSO being able to grow and transform into their own kaiju counterparts, just to keep the giant monster franchise within this RP. Keep in mind, the mechs are also going to be humans/androids as well.

If you want ideas on how these guys will generally look like, take some ideas from these pictures:

Kaiju = Godzilla

Kaiju = Gamera

Mech = Kiryu

Mech = Gipsy Danger

These are just a taste on what I've been considering they'd generally look like. They'll be basically regular humans, but wearing clothes and designs based off the kaiju/mech that they represent. And to those that can actually grow into their monstrous kaiju forms, they'll look identical to their home monster (mech girls/guys will just grow bigger or be put into more protective armor looking like their mech inspiration). OCs will also be welcomed as well.

So yeah, I'm hoping there'll be some sort of interest for this. Storywise it'll be more freelanced, with kaiju going wherever they please, with the mechs/human characters trying to protect it and going on missions of their own, and etc. However, there will be arcs as well, mostly when in regards of fighting a more powerful kaiju or something along the lines.

How do you look for a suitable RP?

Do you look through the interest checks or are you happy with looking at established roleplays that you can enter at a later date?

For me, it's both. This all depends on what one is interested in. Interest checks are mostly for those who want to earn a spot at the very beginning of the RP. Of course, this can still happen in a recently established RP, but one can still join in a more developed RP as long as it's open. Again, it's all based on how big your interest is for the RP you're looking at.

Is formatting or structure something that you keep an eye out for? Or are you happy with an idea, however presented, as long as it's clear and precise?

Eye-Candy always grabs attention. If done correctly and beautifully, it can gain a lot of interest. The more professional your OCC/intro is, and the more popular/interesting the idea is, the more the players become interested. While this isn't always the case, for the most part, it's pretty important.

Does the reputation of the GM matter or are you willing to give each roleplay, no matter the GM, an individual chance?

That depends. If you know the GM is a shite-lord, then maybe it's better if you look elsewhere. If the GM is well-known and well-liked however, then the more you'll probably enjoy the RP and be able to communicate with him more reliably.
