Once upon a time, I used to cheer for May the 4th... now I cry with disappointment. *Except Clone Wars S7 and the Mandalorian - they are awesome*
I think it could be an interesting idea, the feathers would distance it from the whole "halo jackal rip off lol" comments that would ensue from some people. Don't know if they are here or not, to be fair. And I'm not plotting a "Clever Girl" reference at some point if thats a thing. Nope, not at all.
And what I made wasn't a Jackal-like character at all btw. It was literally... a Velociraptor in Halo armor. Looked cool so I did it. I'll actually post it here after I make that profile. In fact... I have a few good ideas for it.
Definitely going for the Rex style thing, perhaps more a Raptor esq type deal. Speed vs raw brawn, relatively speaking in Winston's case. He is fairly spry, but I'd say a Raptor esq being could be a lot more spry.
You know I actually almost made a Raptor character for this one OW RP I did (or simply played in I cant remember) and it was literally a raptor in futuristic halo-esque armor holding a gun. I could maybe revisit that idea, only cover it in more feathers... hmmmmm.
I'm thinking on playing a villain for Talon... however I want to make a rival to Winston...
Something amongst the lines as if Winston was Kong... fighting _____.
What enemy should I base my character off?
A T-Rex (or V-Rex for 2005 sake)?
A Raptor/lizardman?

Hi. If you really think 2 is gonna happen (I don't think so), but I'm not entirely a fire character. I just have a flamethrower on one hand and a fire extinguisher in the other.
EDIT: Although I do have a Fire Theme so... I'm not sure.
Technically true, but yeah. Your character I believe is kinda like a hybrid of water and fire, but still is based around fire and fighting fires etc (while also making it as well). Cool concept though.
@Lmpkio I just picked a random color, probably because it was painful to read. I coded this in notepad so no clue about its appearance then XD
Also, if you read Firewatch (which admittedly, I did not) her character is based entirely around suppressing fire, not starting it apart from her plasma torch. I don't know if that makes a difference, but it seems like it should.
Np, and yeah that blue you used, it does not work well on the guild. Quite the eye sore.
I remember Firewatch. I hadn't fully read/played through it, but I know what it is. But regardless that character is technically a fire-type all on its own so.
Personally I think both characters are great (as if Im a Co-GM which Im not), but like I said, only one will make the cut. Either it'll be based off "first come, first serve" or based on which profile is actually better.
@Pathfinder I'm not sure if we'll get enough members, but we may have one so how about we get just ONE more? Once we get one more, THEN we're eligible to give this RP a go.
Just so I don't exactly loose it, I got most of my Winston profile up! All I really need is to write up his personality and find an actual theme song... which is hard considering that the theme songs I have in mind wouldn't fit well with what I see currently. Regardless here's Winston, like literally 95% complete. Will finish him a little later.

Researching: Winston is often seen intensely researching data for his new projects, as well as tinkering with his own creations.
Reading: When not working on projects, he often picks up a book and reads on his spare time. Often he reads scientific encyclopedias or dictionaries, but does read a novel once in awhile. He admits that his favorite book is Tarzan.
Hanging With Friends: Occasionally, Winston can go out with friends and simply have a fun jolly ole’ time. From going to the carnival with his best friend and partner Lena Oxton, to playing video games like Donkey Kong Country with Hana Song, he isn’t just rooted in his laboratory.
⚜ Incredible Intelligence: Winston is surprisingly smart thanks to the rapid brain development from the gene therapy back on the Lunar Colony Base. He’s famous for developing assortments of high-tech gadgetry and weapons, including the design of the chronal accelerator, providing a solution to Tracer's chronal disassociation. He’s also made other major headways into science, helping both Overwatch and the betterment of mankind in the process. On the battlefield, Winston is also useful in calculating strategies on the battlefield, though he’s more of an assistant than a leader in combat.
⚜ Impressive Strength: Despite stating he’d ‘like to leave the heavy lifting to the professionals’, Winston can pack a hefty punch when it’s absolutely necessary in a situation. He can lift regular human beings into the air with ease, crash through walls, and bend steel with his own sheer physical might. In his “Primal Rage” form, his strength triples, including his rage, allowing him to become a fury of terror and power towards anyone who dares stand in his way. Also, being the gorilla that he is, he’s a natural born climber.
⚜ Unbreakable Determination: Winston doesn’t give up easily. In times of hardship and stress, he always gets up from every blow and continues to do what must be done, no matter the cost. From repeated trial-and-error experiments in the lab, to supporting his allies out on the field, he shall go on to the end, for Winston shall never surrender.
☠ Bulky: As a large gorilla, Winston is a pretty big target. While he has enough abilities to protect himself, and has tech to make himself more agile, at the end of the day he’s fairly slow and his defensive capabilities can only last for so long. His giant structure also makes it hard for him to hit any fast-pace opponents, allowing him to get distracted and tire out.
☠ Lacking Firepower: Winston’s weapon of choice is the Tesla Cannon, which is unfortunately one of the weakest primary weapons in Overwatch’s arsenal. Not only does it deal low damage, but it also has a very short range. The only positive note about his weapon is that it can automatically lock onto enemies when in range, but again it does very little damage to opponents. It can be slightly useful when against lightweight opponents, but is absolutely useless against a more heavyweight unit.
☠ Overthinker: Winston admits that he tends to overthink things. While it doesn’t happen on a daily basis, it happens rather often to make it notable. He can sometimes get clustered when dealing with mathematical problems and he can be extremely bad in decision making, often letting other people decide for him. He is also tends to ramble more than he should and is a bit of a perfectionist.

The Horizon Lunar Colony was established as a first step for humanity's renewed exploration of space. Among its residents was a group of genetically enhanced gorillas that were intended to test the effects of prolonged habitation in space.
One gorilla displayed such rapid brain development from the gene therapy that he was taken under the wing of Dr. Harold Winston, who taught him science and inspired him with tales of human ingenuity. The young gorilla passed his days assisting with the scientists' experiments, watching the distant blue world outside his habitat window, dreaming of the endless possibilities that awaited him there. Lexigrams were used as part of his education process, and on one day on Lunar New Year, Winston challenged the young ape to read Journey to the West. The gorilla's imagination was captured by the heroic monk Tang Sanzang and his ragtag group of disciples' quest for redemption. As a result, the ape was reminded of his younger days every Lunar New Year; Dr Winston telling him the story remained one of his most treasured memories.
But his life was thrown into chaos when the other gorillas led an uprising, killed the mission scientists, and claimed the colony for their own. Taking on the name of his beloved human caretaker, Winston built a makeshift rocket and escaped to Earth. There he found a new home with Overwatch, an organization that represented everything he had come to admire about humanity. Winston was finally able to live up to the heroic ideal that had been instilled in him.
During his time in Overwatch, Winton worked as a major scientist and creator, as well as a valuable tank fighter when needed. He created devices like the chronal accelerator, providing a solution to Tracer's chronal disassociation and even defeated opponents like the mighty Doomfist. He was beloved by many in Overwatch and phrased for his achievements. Yet when Overwatch fell, he was forced to go into hiding, taking residence in his lab at Watchpoint: Gibraltar.
But on that one fateful day, when Winston was pondering once again whether he should give Overwatch agents a recall order, the base came under attack by Talon operatives led by Reaper. With Winston distracted by Talon, Reaper infected his computer with a virus and attempted to download the Overwatch agent database, which would give the current location of any agent. Winston managed to best the operatives and Reaper, stop the download and quarantine the virus at the last moment. After the close call and restoring the system, he made his decision and initiated the recall, reestablishing connection with the agents of Overwatch and thus activating its resurrection. It was time for the world to remember what Overwatch truly meant...

Jump Pack Being the bulky character of a gorilla, Winston’s mobility seems to lack rather substantially. Fortunately, he can make up for that with a special jump pack that he has on his back, allowing him to lunge through the air at a reasonably impressive speed. However, make sure you’re at a safe distance when he lands, otherwise the shockwave can push you back or stun you long enough for Winston to be able to grab you.
Barrier Projector A device that Winston created personally, the barrier projector is able to created a bubble-shaped force field that can absorb damage from incoming projectiles until it automatically dissipates. The cool thing about it is that allies registered into the devices’ coding are able to fire from the shield, while the opponents cannot. But that doesn’t physically stop them from entering inside the field themselves.
Tesla Cannon You would think that a cannon that fires electricity at multiple foes can do a decent amount of damage right? Well… yes and no. Yes the cannon can fire electricity that can shock opponents, but the intensity is low enough not to shock them out of existence. It causes some damage yes, but against other stronger opponents, it’s rather useless. It also has a rather short firing range as well, making it only useful at close range. On the bright side, don’t bother to do some precision aiming with it, for it automatically locks onto anyone that gets within its range and fires continuously as long as you hold the trigger.
His Fists Screw cannons and other weapons of mass destruction, Winston’s true weapons are his two mighty fists! Backed up by intense power, a single punch can break bones, crash through wood and concrete, and can even bend steel in an adrenaline rush. And what will you do when they just so happen to catch you? Just pray to make it out with a few broken bones… if you’re not smashed to pieces that is.
Primal Rage Always heed Winston’s warning. DON’T MAKE HIM ANGRY. Because when he gets angry, he embraces the true animal that he is and can go on a rampage! While significantly boosting his health, his speed increases as well as his strength by double. He even can use his jetpack more often in this state, but will not be able to use his Tesla Cannon. Not like the weapon was useful anyways… However, this ability does not make him invincible. It simply strengthens him and boosts back his health. He can still be defeated while in this form.
