The passengers disembarked after the ferry had docked. Some were already on the harbour, getting their bearings or examining a map, others were still in the crowd going to the exit. Suddenly an Umbreon darted through the crowd. The agile Pokémon swiftly maneuvered between the humans and moments later it was in the harbour. It ran into Mesperit City, disappearing from sight.

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 12-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing.
I've been writing and roleplaying in Dutch and English since 2002. I joined the RolePlayer Guild in 2014 and since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.
There are times I don't have much creative energy and will be silent for a while, but in the very least I will try to keep the writing contests going.
If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. Genuinly, I sometimes need reminders that you are waiting for a reply. I don't ghost on purpose, I promise. Time is just a weird thing sometimes, and if something happened 3 days ago, 3 weeks ago or 3 months ago can feel pretty much the same and I often don't realize how much time passed since my last reply. And if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab there is a good chance I might forget I was supposed to reply because I lost the visual reminder T_T

@CitrusArms Yes, there is room for Pokémon Rangers and you may explore the islands as a ranger. I'd accept characters who just want to make photographs of wild Pokémon too ^_^

You're all free to leave the ferry and explore the first island in your next post, or stay at the harbour and wait for a ferry that can take you to one of the other islands.

I have 630 words 
While the story is complete, based on other entries in this style it's not the kind of story to win any contests. I am working on a version of the same story that should be better received, but in case I can't complete that in time, the 630 word story it will be.

Most people on the ferry seemed to mind their own business. Several were inside, watching the news on the big television screen. Smaller screens alternated their program: going from the weather forecasts, to the menu, to advertisment, to the gps showing where exactly they were, and back to the weather forecast.
Others were outside, looking out over the sea.
Rhando Island came close and it wasn't long before the loudspeakers of the p.a. system came to life with a gentle chime.
"Attention everyone, this is your captain speaking. We will soon dock in Mesperit City. Pokémon who have a Pokéball are advised to return to it during disembarking. We hope you enjoyed your journey with V&M Ferries."
Another chime indicated the end of the message.
In Mesperit City the harbour prepared for the arrival of the ferry. A man stood on the quay with a Nidorino next to him. When there were no other obligations in the gym or the contest hall, he enjoyed watching the interregional ferry approach. Hopefully with new trainers, eager to explore the islands.
