Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 12-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing.

I've been writing and roleplaying in Dutch and English since 2002. I joined the RolePlayer Guild in 2014 and since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

There are times I don't have much creative energy and will be silent for a while, but in the very least I will try to keep the writing contests going.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. Genuinly, I sometimes need reminders that you are waiting for a reply. I don't ghost on purpose, I promise. Time is just a weird thing sometimes, and if something happened 3 days ago, 3 weeks ago or 3 months ago can feel pretty much the same and I often don't realize how much time passed since my last reply. And if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab there is a good chance I might forget I was supposed to reply because I lost the visual reminder T_T

"Okay," Mindy said, although the answer raised even more questions she decided that would be for another time. "This way," she said. She exited the alley and turned in the right direction.
"Come on James," Penalopy said as she floated behind Gavin and Mindy, but she turned invisible when she exited the alley. The Mime Jr. walked with Fez, relying on his other senses to keep track of the legendary he was supposed to guard. At least she had the sense to hide from view when they walked among humans, but it did make it harder to know where she was going.

"I don't mind," Michael said and he looked at the two puppy Pokémon. Both were equally excited about the upcoming battle, he wished he could share that. "I guess it will depend on who can control their enthusiasm the best," he added, looking from Missy to Sparky. "Unless..." He turned to Whitney. "Can we do a double battle? Two versus two?"
Whitney gave it a thought and nodded. "We can do that, sure. Two Pokémon, two rounds, so a total of four Pokémon. Agreed?"
Michael turned to Niccia. "What do you think? Gym leaders usually don't start with their strongest, so I want to give Anthony a chance to fight first, Missy is stronger than him."

Saruya took on an aggressive stance. "Who are you?" she growled, her snout rippled as she bared her teeth. Whoever these Mightyena were, she was ready for them.

Kim nodded to Mitch in return and when they walked away she turned to Varina. "Let's go back to Andy," she said and she started walking slowly to make sure Varina could keep up with her.
Andy had found what he was looking for and had a stack of regional newspapers on the table, going back till the last time he had heard from his brother. He read through them with a serious expression. When Kim saw that she sat down on the floor, she didn't want to disturb him.
@BladeSS4 Henri nodded when the Ninjask was returned, that was a good call. Not all trainers knew when to stop.
When the Absol came to the field, Henri examined it and smiled. This would be an interesting battle. The Shadow Ball flew across the arena and hit the Rhydon.
Henri could see the Rhydon was getting tired, but he figured he'd have enough strength left for another attack. "Horn Attack," he said.
The Rhydon lowered his head and charged to the Absol, keeping the horn pointed at his opponent.

Mike stared at Gaia, trying to wriggle out of her grip as he tried to lean back. In a way it was nice to hear she thought he was stronger than that and that she felt he shouldn't give in, but being held like that by a dragon felt dangerous. And her grip on him was quite tight. When he heard Harriets voice he got dropped to the ground. "Ouch," he grunted.
He allowed Harriet to help him up. "It...it's okay," he said, glancing to Gaia. "I'm okay."

Ethan had left the building with agent Morrison when he saw Gaia and Mike together. Then he noticed Gaia picking Mike and by the way he squirmed he didn't seem to enjoy it.
"I told you it's a monster," Morrison whispered. "She's unpredictable. Always keep a weapon with you when she's near."
Ethan ran over to the others, Harriet was with them too and had picked up Mike already. "What the hell is going on here?" he asked when he was close enough.

Mr. Johnson smiled when he read the text. Good, keep me informed.
Another text came in. Ethan will be ready to take out Gaia soon, he saw her grabbing one of his friends.
Also a good development.

"I will meet April tomorrow," Benjamin said, shaking Mack's hand, "I must say I barely know her, but I am looking forward to get to know her." He pulled his hand back and decided to sit down on the bench as well. "What brought you here?" he asked, "or is that between you and Steph?"

Benjamin returned the smile. "I'm glad I am," he said to her. "I'm more of the music and art department," he explained. "I do read books sometimes, usually when I travel, but I will check out the books they have here." He looked at her. "It's great that you write though, I'm not very good at that myself. I understand how your anxiety stops you from showing it to others. I have no anxiety, but even I feel nervous when someone I don't know looks at my drawings. You never know how people will react to something so personal as something you created yourself."

He watched a male nurse walking with a female catatonic patient. One of the more severe conditions in this place. While there were certainly normal patients here, like Artemis, it was depressing to see the stage others were in.
Benjamin listened as all three explained about Frank, he couldn't stop a smile from forming. It was kinda cute to see and hear them talk about the same subject together.
"They have nothing in common then," he said, crossing his arms. What could be the reason those three had disappeared? "We honestly need access to their files, there has to be something in there. Which means we need Sara, right now she's the only one of the staff we can trust."

Marc was doing some paperwork, but when that was done he decided to check on some patients, some had to be checked at irregular times to see they were not endangering themselves or those around them. Maybe after that he could check up on Sara.
That has to be one of the most frighting motivational speeches ever XD

But... I think Ethan may have seen that...
The Hermit shook his head. "No, you young people helped me enough, you be on your way. There is a lot to do for you." He turned to the old dragon. "What will you do?"
"What needs to be done," the dragon replied. "It would be nice to restore the peace before I go, I wouldn't want to see a war between humans and dragons break out again, and it might if we won't do anything." He looked to Noble. "I will lend the new king a paw and a wing. You are lacking dragons in your team."

That was something Trevor didn't mind at all, having just Comet would have been fine with him. He would have been fine without any dragons on the team. So far only Cressaa hadn't said what she would be doing, but he didn't really care either. He went to the food. "We'll take some of this for along the way," he said.
"Of course," the hermit replied. "Help yourself. Everyone, take as much as you need. In the very least to last this evening and the morning."

"I would have enjoyed singing songs with you," Mikhal said to Gnol. "We'll save that for another time." He got up and walked to Ricki, Alan and Meria. "Young bard, young dragons," he said in responce to Alan. "Just so you know my only asset to any team is that I can kill any boredom during the journey... and that's about everything I can kill. When it comes to battles I'm practically useless, but I can sing songs of encouragement and make fun of the opponents' mothers." He thought about his words. "Probably with one song," he concluded.

Rachel stood beside Damien when Seb approached them. "I don't see why not," she said, looking to Damien. In the end it wasn't her decision to make. She looked at the two other groups that had formed. It was a shame Ricki wouldn't join them, she liked the girl, but she knew the team she had chosen was the best for her.
Mike watched Benjamin walk away and then looked at Gaia. "I wouldn't let that happen," he said. "If he doesn't want me to talk about it, I won't. I..." Maybe it was best not to talk to Gaia about it either, Steph was on her team after all. "I'll give in," he said, kicking some grass. "I'm used to that. I rather to that than getting the others mad at me and leave..."
He sighed, rubbing his face with a hand. He was worried about Ben, but he feared abandonment more, so he decided to just keep an eye on Steph and step in when things became dangerous.

Benjamin saw Steph sitting on the bench with someone else and walked towards them. He heard the last sentence. Competition?
"Hey," he said as he reached the bench and he looked at the male. "I don't think we've met," he said, extending a hand. "I'm Benjamin."
Mindy nodded slowly. "Of course," she said, showing a smile now. "Let's get you those pants now." She watched Gavin say something to Blaze she couldn't understand, but she saw the Charizard nod. That made her feel better.
It was still hard to believe she was actually talking to Mewtwo, now that she was getting used to the idea she had around a ton of questions for him, but that would have to wait.

Penalopy floated to Gavin and hang in front of his face. "Are you going to-"
"Pokémon language, miss Penalopy," James quickly said.
"-Starfall too?" she asked as if James hadn't said a thing. The Mime Jr. sighed.

"Starfall?" Mindy asked.

"I'm Whitney," the gym leader introduced herself. "Here, let me open the gym." She unlocked the door and went inside first, turning on some lights as she walked further. "Are you here for a battle?" she asked.
"We are." Michael said.
"I can only take on one now. After that my Pokémon will need a moment to rest or heal." She had a happy smile. "Otherwise the next battle wouldn't be fair, would it?"

Saruya looked around to pinpoint where the voice came from. "Dumb puppies?" she repeated. "Who said that. Show yourself!" she barked. Her body was tense, ready to jump into action when needed.

"Perfect," Andy said. "I'm going to do my work before Kim gets mad at me and I'll meet you in a moment." He winked and turned to where he saw something that looked like a newspaper shelf.
"Yes..." Kim sighed. At least Andy seemed focussed on the reason they had come to this place. She didn't walk with him, as long as Varina stayed here she'd stay with her.

Henri chuckled. "Well, I mean, it lowering the speed was a nice side-effect,I mainly wanted to see your Pokémons reaction. Not too long ago I had a Pokémon flee the arena after that move." As he talked he kept an eye on the Ninjask doing its Aerial Ace which all his Rhydon could do against was brace himself.
"Smackdown," he ordered.
After being hit with the Aerial Ace, followed by the Metal Claw, the Rhydon panted but rose his arm. An orange orb formed in the paw and he moved to smack the Ninjask into the sand with as much force as he could gather.
