I have imagined that the British lost control of Belize when the depression began and Belize came to the Federation, requesting to be annexed.

Okay we can run with that, we could say that Federation-backed rebels during the war overthrew the colonial administration in Belize, subsequently founded a pro-Federation government there and swiftly applied to join the Federation of Central America.

@The Spectre

I don't think I remember giving you approval just yet. So Belize is still up in the air.

Oh I haven't actually been approved to be the UK yet either so I maybe overstepping by acting as if I speak for them here. To finish my NS I do need to work out a history with the colonies though.

Well, we would have to talk then because I have already took it while you were busy fighting the war (in 1922). Hope we can come to some sort of deal.

Ah I see. I'm not against working out a deal though I would appreciate that you do atleast run it by me before claiming to have seized territories from me and presenting it as an unquestionable fact. Regardless, let's work something out. I suppose it depends on how exactly your nation came to occupy Belize, did your army simply march into it and annex the territory or did you envisage something else?
@The Spectre I look forward to seeing the Central American declaration of war on my desk then.

Anything East of Africa, generally. Pacific holdings would've either been eaten by a country like Japan, or fallen under the protection of Australia/New Zealand when Britain was unable to. Then anything in the Indian Ocean would have probably been taken by (whatever came of India) or East African breakaway colonies, like Tanganyika or even South Africa.

Anything in the Atlantic should be fair game, with maybe the exception of the Falkland Islands, which could have been gobbled by/sold to Argentina.

In my opinion as a former Britain player in this RP. :P

I see. Well your opinion is noted and I'm not particularly against losing further overseas possessions if it makes sense in the setting. I will however wait and see the GM's ruling on the matter.

EDIT:
The African colonies are lost. Some of those, like Tanganyika, were German colonies that only became British after WW1. Since nobody wins the Great War in this timeline, Tanganyika doesn't become British and all the breakaway movements gain traction. If we have a South African player, they should take a shot at a Boer Republic actually.

Those nations with strong independence movements likely broke away. Those without strong independence movements likely didn't.

Alright, noted.

Not one of the ones you tagged, but seeing as the French kept their Caribbean, it's realistic that you would keep yours, too.

Assuming the UK remains a principal naval power in the world, which of my current possessions, all of which are islands in the middle of oceans I might add, do you think I couldn't have retained?
@Dinh AaronMk@Vilageidiotx
Within this setting how much colonial territory might the UK have realistically retained assuming she was abit more reactionary in trying to keep together the Empire?

@Lone Wanderer p.s if ever can i take australia

Sure, go ahead. When you say take I assume you mean playing as Australia and don't mean taking/invading them as Mexico. But yeah, being in a pretty poor state and with discontent across the Empire, Westminster as it did IRL would most likely have embarked upon a movement of decolonisation involving the granting of independence to her dominions and colonies and offering them a place in the Commonwealth of Nations. I'm not definite on this however and may have Britain be abit more reactionary and try to retain/reclaim her Empire with a more conservative government whilst having only offered independence to her more troublesome colonies.

Whether your Australia gained it's independence by working with Westminster or through other means such as revolt is entirely up to you. Alternatively your Australia could have remained apart of the British Empire with effectively autonomous control if you're so inclined.

@Lone Wanderer, I'm not playing a British possession, but I did have plans for subversion in Sabah and Sarawak. Want to talk those out here?

Sure, on here or in PMs. Whichever you'd prefer. What did you have in mind?
Okay, this is the map claim I'd like to make as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Until I and whoever intends to play as post or current British possessions or dominions can work out a history I've just claimed what the UK holds as of the modern day with the inclusion of Malta and without their holdings in Cyprus or the British Virgin Isles which appears to have been annexed by dastardly Americans. ;)

I might be interested in taking over the UK if they have not already been claimed.

Generally what kind of situation would the UK be facing as of the RP's start? From what I've read it seems they've lost most of their colonial territories and dominions, and with Germany maintaining it's unrestricted submarine warfare I imagine they faced a lack of resources throughout the war which might still be affecting their economy today.

I'd be interested if there's room.
