Capitan's log: Day 2

Lance here. Another day passed, and I'm still in our little predicament. I decided today I would try out this, "Dojo". There were several weapons I wanted to try out. The first of which was a strange looking knife attached to a strange stretchy rope. It was almost like a whip, but I couldn't wrap my head around how to use it. Maybe once time unfreezes I'll have one of the monks teach me. The second was a hand sickle attached to a chain with a small weight at the end. The hand Sickle I recognized. It was called a Kama in Ebberon, but weren't seen to often. They were mostly display weapons. This chain sickle thing was a lot of fun. I couldn't use it very well, but I could definitely see its usefulness. The third and final weapon I found was a pair of wooden sticks attached to a chain. I had seen these a couple of times in Ebberon, but never got a chance to try them out. They seemed simple enough to wield, but I get the feeling I'm missing something. There were more odd weapons I wanted to try out, but I had spent most of the day trying out the weapons, eating and walking around. I certainly worked up a sweat today! But that's enough for today, the bed is calling me once more. Until next time,

Ysran looked around him, there weren't any strange looking plants that would hopefully conveniently have healing properties. Looks like there was only one thing to do. Running up to the fire, Ysran grabbed a red-hot stick. Walking back to Sasha, he gripped it as close as he could to the hot part, and sat down. "Alright. Anybody have any objections? Speak now or forever hold your peace."

Ysran Stormreach

Ysran stood still, awaiting a potential arrow from the Kobold. But nothing came. Relaxing, Ysran walked next to Caractacus, putting his hands back to his side and looking back up, revealing that his hands and face were now covered in thick silver scales. "Alright then, lead the way! Oh, but, we should probably tell the driver about what happened. I told him I'd be back in a bit. Oh and don't mind the, uh, Scales. Thought I might've gotten shot by an arrow. They'll go away in a bit"

Name: Ysran Stormreach

Appearance :

Race: High Elf

Personality: Generally very curious. Fairly carefree and loves to make others laugh. He can at sometimes be a bit Sociopathic, as once an Eldritch diety probes your Psyche you kind of get a little weird.

Weapons: Mainly his magic, but when it comes to close quarters, he has a Crossbow that fires magic bolts, and a Longsword. And this is a full sized crossbow too, not one of them pansy hand crossbows.

Magic: Ysran uses a variety of Eldritch spells, including: Eldritch Blast, Attract fish, Summon Shambler, Summon Fish (Although this can be almost any aquatic creature) Fishscales and Greater Fishscales. Not to mention basic illusions. He is also trying his best to learn 2 new spells: Heal and Breath of the Deep.

Combat skills: Ysran has a little bit of strength, and is fairly athletic from all his traveling. He uses a Sword, but is still learning.

History: Ysran Stormreach is the son of a very successful business man (and woman) who owned Stormreach Harbor. Stormreach Harbor is a fairly large harbor, located in Southgate. After their untimely death, the company was left to Ysran. Instructed by a family friend, Ysran became very successful like his parents. However, at about 18 years of age, Ysran grew bored of the harbor, and decided to roam the vast world as a traveling Magician. Eventually he came across a book that would change his life forever. A book containing the secrets to Eldritch and Occult magic. A Realy real magic book. Ysran's dream. He had heard of it before, but he didn't think it looked anything like this. But he just HAD to know what was inside.

Returning home, Ysran learned a secret Occult language and soon was able to conjure a ball of force, and soon a Shambler (a zombie minion basically) After making a name for himself as "The Magician of the Deep" His efforts soon led him to Crepix, where an aquatic eldritch diety revealed himself to Ysran. After completing a few tasks for him and his people, he was granted great understanding of the Eldritch, and can now fluently commune with them, as well as learning a few new spells. He now seeks out more knowledge and spells to fill his collection.

Motive: More spells, more knowledge, and more chances to explore the world.

Here's a more detailed list of the spells Ysran can cast, as well as a short description of them.

Spell Descriptions

Eldritch Blast-

A ball of dark energy capable of delivering quite a bit of force, about enough to go through a sturdy wooden door. Against living targets, this can knock people down, and it terms of damage, it would take 2-3 to kill a normal person as the darkness burns like a strong acid.

Attract Fish-

Attracts all manner of fish and sometimes other aquatic creatures to a singular point. The range can vary from a few inches to several feet.

Summon Shambler-

A zombie-like minion is summoned to do Ysran's bidding. It can follow simple commands such as "Hold this" or "Go there". If told to, the Shambler will follow another person's commands until told otherwise by Ysran. It prioritizes Ysran's commands first.

Summon Fish-

A fish (or other aquatic creature) is summoned much like a Shambler. These can be anything from a goldfish, to a Great White Shark. However the general rule is, the bigger the creature, the shorter time it has before it is unsummoned. This can be delayed, but requires great concentration from Ysran.

Fishscales and Greater Fishscales-

Creates a layer of Scale-like armor around the skin. It doesn't turn your skin into scales,it just created a layer of them on top of the skin. Greater Fishscales is stronger, but normal Fishscales can be cast on others.

Heal-

Can heal most wounds, poisons, and some diseases. This spell however costs quite a bit of mana, and spell casting time can take a while.

Breath of the Deep-

Fills an opponent's lungs with water, drowning them. However first, Ysran must mentally overcome his opponent. The spell also takes a moment to cast, and only lasts as long as Ysran concentrates.

Another thing about Ysran's magic is that in addition to mana, it also costs a bit of sanity to cast. So if Ysran goes around slinging spells super fast, he'll likely break down and start laughing uncontrollably or get unreasonable paranoid. Stuff like that.

Bluu saw an enormous walled building in the distance. Perhaps this was what was referred to as "Beacon". Closing the distance in an instant, he had made it to the wall. The Beacon was impressively defended. High walls, lights, almost like a...Beacon. Huh. Walking around the perimeter of the walls, Bluu looked for an entrance. Until that is he found a small hole in the wall. Putting his eye to the hole, there was a figure standing by the hole, pacing around. With any luck, it wouldn't be the living dead. Bluu spoke through hole: "Hey there. This wouldn't happen to be 'Beacon' would it? Mind if I come in?" The figure stepped back, clearly surprised. "Y-Yes, this is Beacon. Wh-Who's there?" "Ah, perfect! I've made it then!" Bluu backed up, a good, 20 feet, and ran as fast as he could. Up a nearby tree and leaping off and onto the wall. Hopping down, he came face to face with a young girl, clearly frightened. "Sorry to scare you, but my name is Bluu," He said with a short bow,"So, uh, is it alright if I just explore a bit?" "W-Well, shouldn't we take you through the gate first? We need to let people know you're here. Follow me, I'll take you there." Thankfully the girl had calmed down, and was now even offering to take him to the main gate! How lucky. He hoped he wouldn't have to go through some sort of clearing and search process, there was a lot of stuff in his pack."Great! Lead the way then!" And with that, they set off to the gate.

Capitan's log: Day 1

Lance here. While I'm stuck in time I decided I will write in the Journal I packed along, just in case. So far, I seem to have quite the amount of food, wine, and water. Now, today I decided to explore the Monastery. It was quite expansive, quite a lot of ground to cover. Most of the Monastery was exactly as you'd expect. A few living areas, a garden, and quite the expansive courtyard! However, the most interesting thing I had found was another building off the off by the side of the main Monastery. It said on a small sign: "Dojo". Looking inside the new building was an array of wooden weapons and training dummies. Some of these weapons I had never seen before! I had to come back here soon, it was getting dark, so I headed back. Peeking into the dining room, I saw everybody in the same position they were in. Even the monks in the funny positions I left them in. But for now, I'm getting a little sleepy. As I write this on the end table, the large red silk bed looks more and more inviting. Well, the time has come for me to put this away. Until tomorrow, that is. Until next time,

That's awesome, Ysran looks like a very interesting character and I can't wait to see more of him!

Just know, since he is a High Elf and practices magic, he is basically shunned by other High Elves. Other then that, he'll be accepted.

On another note, I'll be putting up the OOC tomorrow, so stay tuned for that.
