Reluctantly retired roleplayer.

Except when I'm not.

Why are you here when you should be writing posts?

You can edit a bad draft, but you cannot edit a blank page.

I am interested in this RP but I noticed a few pages back that you said you were closing the RP to new players. Has this happened yet or would I be able to submit a sheet?

Someone know any DC games going on? I reeeeaaaaalllly wanna play as the Reverse Flash.

In the future, it'd probably be a better idea to PM people. I can't remember if it was the Guild or another forum I was part of, but I've seen rules against posting in dead threads before. Iwaku locks and archives threads that have been inactive for more than four weeks let alone six months lol.

EDIT: That said, I don't actually know of any 'DC' RPs going on. Getting ready to launch an RP myself but it's an original universe.
A couple of the RP's I've been in and have GM'd, we've included NPC lists that were relevent to your character. Additionally on the ones I've personally GM'd, I generally create a list of central NPCs such as the city's mayor, chief of police, and any other notable character. As Lillian said, they help to flesh out the world and in regards to the character specific NPCs I've always found that they help give your character a further sense of existing. That nice little 'slice of life' that says 'Hey, this character actually has a life and didn't just pop up for the sake of the RP.'

Sometimes I even write whole posts from the perspective of the NPC, it's fun sometimes to describe your character through someone else's eyes. That said I predominately play Superhuman RPs and thus this all works very well for that particular genre.

In terms of who can actually control an NPC, character specific ones were generally up to the discretion of the creator. The ones I'd create as a GM were situation specific however as to who could control them. As was mentioned above, a villain character could be too easily manipulated for a player to instantly win so generally I would impose limitations to control during combat situations. These limitations generally include making sure that everyone gets a go at the villain character(s). In the case of multiple opponents I always ask that characters react as 'realistic' as possible. In other words depending on abilities and skills ensure they don't take on five opponents at once and leave nothing for anyone else.

As with anything in RPing, there's a lot of onus on both the players and the GM to ensure everything stays in check. That said I definitely believe in the importance of NPCs to flesh out a world and fill it with life. Look a video game, could you image just wandering empty streets with no NPCs around to bring the setting to life? It does make quite a difference in players and the GM take the effort to breathe that little bit extra life into their settings.

Its cute how you think KL will let him be alive long enough for such a thing...

KL literally said in the post above mine 'I won't kill Cal off'.
Will do! Once I get everything balanced out I'd be happy to bring Cal back in if there's an opportunity.
Hey all,

Unfortunately I need to withdraw from this RP. I'm taking a hiatus from all RPing due to a lack of time to actively participate. Sorry!
Walking to the other fridge, Cal swallowed his pizza as he opened the appliance up and looked inside. A good vareity of sugary sodas, energy drinks and juices lined the shelves along with various milks and bottles of water. Smiling as he reached for a Mountain Dew Code Red, Cal cracked the can open and quickly slurped the can down before grabbing another. He loved the caffeine loaded up in these drinks, Cal had always found them helpful in keeping his cognitive abilities running at top potential. Seeing that he had been either unheard or ignored, Cal decided to grab another slice of pizza before his belt suddenly beeped. Sending the message from his belt to the holographic interface on his gauntlet, Cal's eyes opened wide in surprise as the results of his diagnostic came back. Looking around for the duplicating alien, Cal scrambled out of the kitchen as he chased Kilian down.

"Hey!" He called, using the jets on his boots to boost himself along before skidding to a halt. "Yo Bos... El Capitano!" Cal yelled as he caught up to Kilian. "I watched the fight earlier through the news feeds and noticed something strange about the local law enforcement. So I took some scans and ran a couple diagnostics, turns out that new gear of there's isn't exactly gear. It's part of them, they appear to be augmented by that technology. Cyborgs if you will."

Out of all the people listed under New Members, I've only seen Rumiko and Frostbite's player actually post more than in the beginning. Besides, that post about not accepting anyone was when we'd just started. Perhaps we DO need to get one or two in here.

As I said, two people left and there's only five new additions. Liriia and QT both seem to have vanished and were the two I was referring to. Though QT actually had posted almost, if not as many times as yourself if collabs are included before vanishing.

Personally I'm just waiting for more of the 'mystery' to be revealed so the main plot can move forward.
I don't want to discourage anyone but the OP does state that the RP isn't accepting any characters, but we have had two players vanish so yeah.
