"We stop checking for the monsters under our bed...."

Former City of Glasgow
- Scotland Penal Colony -
April 20th, 2041

The sky was grey as concrete as the rain came down on the massive prison colony. Shortly after the Earth had surrendered, massive columns fell from the sky and landed in the waters surrounding Scotland, forming a massive wall that trapped all inside. After that, massive towers landed in the middle of Scotland's major cities. Within weeks, they began rounding up the 'undesirables' and leaving them there. Every few months, death squads entered the country and performed a culling to make room for more. Rumors continue to persist that the squads occasionally take people alive. Why is unknown. All that is known is that these people are never seen again.

Glasgow was still a functioning city for all intents and purposes. Minus a stable government that was along with the lack of proper power. It was one of the most populated areas on the penal colony. What were once boroughs became territories for some of the more ruthless and most powerful. All except Gorbals, home to the Spire and the one place to get your rations on a weekly basis.

Marcus stood in line among the rest of the crowd. He grit his teeth and scratched his head as the voices whispered. The new moon was coming again and the monster that dwelled in him was becoming restless, hungry. Especially in the presence of all this fresh meat. Marcus's mouth, or rather Sirsir's mouth watered at the scent.

'AlL tHiS fReSh MeAt....AlL tHiS cAtTlE....wE mUsT fEeD....fEeD uS....'

Marcus squeezed his eyes shut and forced the whispers to the back of his mind. They had an agreement. No sacrifices till the New Moon. Nothing sooner, nothing later. The monster was impossible to control, even in it's weakened state. It wanted him weak, gone, erased. Even so, Marcus had demonstrated exceptional will. Stronger will than any host before him. It only made the creature wish him gone more. Like a parasite though, it needed him. For now at least...

"Move forward!" called a voice over loud speakers. The line shuffled forward slowly as person after person collected their weeks rations. Dehydrated food supplies, fresh water, the works. The labor camps would give extra rations to those willing to work but the work often was dangerous and could end in death. Courtesy of your new alien overlords! Marcus still couldn't believe that Earth's so called "heroes" had been powerless to stop this. They died in a last stand that had been called the Seven Day War. In the end, it ended with perhaps Earth's mightiest hero having his skull crushed. Pathetic...

"....when we discover they live in our own heads"
@LordOfTheNight Oh, I did say he got imprisoned, I should've specified he got moved to the penal colony since he had superpowers and all!

Haha No biggie. Just double checking. Alright. Go ahead and post your character in the character thread
Sorry, I think I'm gonna go ahead and back out of this.

Got a very other things on my plate, and it's wasn't very responsible of me to join more than I can handle without getting burnt out.

I still like the idea, though. Best of luck to this one.

Completely understandable. If you ever decide to join up again, let me know.

Looks fine to me. Now quick question before I give you the go-ahead, is your character still in Madrid or has he been moved to the penal colony in Scotland with the rest of the super-powered Baddies
Hello! If this RP is still open, I'd like to join.
Here's a character sheet for review. Please tell me if I need to change anything.

I like it! Love the amount of thought you put into your character sheet as well. Go ahead and post this in the character thread. Glad to see we have some scientific villains now oh, I was afraid it was all going to be magic haha
I will have an opening post this evening
Looks good to me. Go ahead and post it in the Character Thread

  • Eldritch Magic: Acting as an agent for the Babylonian god Sirsir, Marcus is capable of using magic of any kind so long as he learns the spell, the name, and the purpose of the spell. He's only limited to his willpower and his own knowledge
  • Persuasion: Upon offering patronage to Sirsir, Marcus was granted the gift of 'The Voice'. Using this power, Marcus directly channels the will of Sirsir through him and can command people to do as he pleases. However, this ability only works if Marcus can speak and only if his target(s) can hear him and understand him.
  • Unholy Vessel: In times of great need, Marcus can become the avatar of Sirsir and take his form for a very brief period. However, doing this saps all of Marcus's will and leaves him in a coma like state for several days

w e a k n e s s As stated before, Marcus is limited by his willpower. The more powerful the spell, the more will is required. Marcus is also half mad due to Sirsir's influence, sometimes losing control and allowing Sirsir to fully control him or being controlled by Sirsir fully by force. In order to keep his powers, Marcus also must make blood sacrifices every New Moon to feed the ancient god or it will drain the life out of him.

Marcus wasn't born with any sort of magic ability, rather he was like any man who led an unremarkable life. He was once a college history professor, married to a beautiful wife, father to a beautiful daughter. His life changed when his little girl was diagnosed with Stage 3 Leukemia. Marcus watched as his daughter began to wither away, science failing her at every turn. Desperate, Marcus sought a more mystical method of healing her. He began to study magic and the occult, soon learning the ritual to summon a Babylonian god of magic by the name of Sirsir.

The deal was simple, Marcus became the human agent of Sirsir and gained powerful magic abilities to save his daughter in exchange for a soul of Sirsir's choosing at a time it deemed acceptable. With his power, his daughter grew healthy and strong. Then Sirsir named the soul, Marcus's wife. When Marcus refused Sirsir transformed his daughter into an eldritch monster that tore his wife apart. Sirsir promised Marcus that his daughter would be returned to him unharmed and normal if Marcus served loyally and sacrificed a human being every New Moon....
