I don't dislike his writing because I'm a hipster- I dislike his writing because I find it boring, and the dialogue felt unnatural. Mind you, I haven't read any of his other books, so I can't judge if he's a terrible writer or not, so I'm basically talking out of my ass here, but Orson Scott Card at the time of writing Ender's Game was a terrible writer.
