Some people need to make a hard choice when deciding which two karaoke streams they want to listen to. I have no such weakness: I have two ears for a reason.

The hard part about trying to play some politically savvy mastermind is the assumption that the world operates off real world politics and not your DM’s politics.

Don't put too much stock in prophesies. At best they're full of shit, but more often than not they're one of those self-fullilling kinds. Plan for what happens afterwards instead.

A character isn't deep or compelling just because you let them get hurt a lot, are always depressed, or do morally questionable things.

Bio

If you're here either you're wondering what I'm doing cause I need to post in your RP (In which case, calm yo tits, I'll get around to it), or you want to know who I am. So let's begin.

I'm a college age asian kid who has more heart than he has senses. I'm still working out this whole "adulthood" thing, so until then I just do what I feel I must. As far as personality and traits go, I'm not one for boasting. So if there's anything redeeming about myself you'd have to figure it out in person or by word-of-mouth. Generally however I'm rather perverted, in the best and worst ways. nothing is too much until I've crossed the line, and that just means I've started.

As far as Roleplays I like, I have a thing for fantasy, though I'm also good for some types of sci-fi, supernatural, Modern, and slice-of-life. If it's open and sandbox, I'll probably join it. Never really been a romantic, I often chose to sexualize any notion of romantic encounters I come across. I generally write at Casual quality, though I have no issues with Free-Level Rp/Players and I can hold my own in Advance.

Guess it's my turn. Aside from the kobold next to Torus, is there any other beasties within 30 feet that Orchid could run and hack down?
"Ronath?" It was a name that Darc wasn't familiar with, at least not intimately. There was a possibility that he might've heard it in passing and pulled up his phone to access his database. An online Wikipedia of sorts encrypted in his own home-brewed demonic language so he could have a ready access to information at his fingertips. Now that was an invention humanity had over demons. Usually demons just had to have a really good memory or written it down somewhere. These information databases were like the akashic records for mortals. Sort of. Soon showing up was the newbie, Nova Amherst. He vaguely remembered introducing himself to her back at the office, however he was in demon form at the time, not his current human guise. For a bit of a laugh he'll keep that a secret; he loved messing with newbies by going demon mode when they least expect it. So he simply nodded to Nova as Issac took lead in the investigation and guided everyone inside.

As Issac lead the others in Darc messaged his familiars in the nearby area to begin overwatch, investigation, and interviewing. Various imps using invisibility magic would swarm the area watching civilians and investigators alike, ready to swoop in and assist or apprehend as needed. And it wasn't just the imp familiars that Darc had on hand; various birds and vermin had also arrived to lend their assistance. Thanks to their heighten mental abilities due to the familiar contract they could communicate with other fellow beasts and learn what they might've seen. After all, even the most fanatical and vicious cultist tends to ignore flies on the wall. And Darc had trained quite a few flies to become his familiars. Finally for Darc's human familiars, instead of letting them wander around the crime scene he had them gather information about cultist activities. If what Darc thinks is true, this cult might've brought in new initiates from the city's homeless, vagrants, or just the desperate. After all either the victim was bled out by a sadist who wanted him to run, or a novice new to this whole cult business and hoped none of his contemplates noticed his mistake.

Once inside Darc saw the gruesome scene before him and scrunched his nose. "Yuck. I didn't even finish my lunch yet." It was another massacre. Not the first time Darc's ever seen one, but they always had a way to give him a bit of a shock. Definitely a demon cult though. Your run of the mill koolaid cults wouldn't have the stomach to arrange all of the bodies like this, even if they were willing to carry out the slaughter. This took some devotion. Still didn't rule out that they might've recruited some newbies into the gang brought them here to get them bloodied. It was a common enough tactic to at least allow them to see just how "hardcore" they could be. Cults would do this for two reasons: to show new guys they mean business and what may await them if they betray the cult.

Darc took out his business touch pad, which was a fairly bulky device that also served as a camera and communication device. He made sure to take picture evidence of the scene without touching any bodies, getting images of everything he can. Each body, all the costumes, ever corner, even underneath the seats. No place left unseen. As he was taking images of the body Darc held his breath. "Oh no... Look how they massacred my boy..." He recognized this corpse. Lenny Duran, and his cross shape birthmark on his neck. He was only twelve when he first met Darc. A was a troubled youth who smashed his dad's head with a fire extinguisher during one of his drunken rages, ended up joining a street gang. When they left him behind after a run in with Darc's demons, he took the boy in a contract and had him work as a spy on the inside of various street gangs. When Lenny was eighteen he wanted to become an actor and seeing that Lenny did Darc a lot of good, he gave Lenny the skills and knowledge to make it in show business. Since then Darc had never called Lenny up again for any familiar work, though he was still under contract. Everyone is always under contract. Sometimes Darc simply forgets about them.

"Real shame Lenny... Would've loved to see your act." Darc reached out to touch Lenny's head. Even if he was dead Lenny was still under Darc's contract, which meant that he could still extract and examine his memories. In half a second, all of Lenny's memories would flash into Darc's mind, allowing him to know everything Lenny knew in his life. Though all Darc wanted to know was anything that happened in these past few hours up to Lenny's demise. Anything he heard, saw, or thought could provide Darc some valuable clues to what happened here and who's responsible.
Anyways if the party wants to head back into the city for further looting, feel free to post and voice that opinion. Otherwise my next post will move the party in that direction.
@Ookawa

Small groups like this makes it feel more dangerous if someone drops, cuz who knows if a replacement can reach you guys before I send some nasty buggers on you.

Jk, another reason is just cuz Tangle is in the other Ruins if Norn RP I’m in. I’m not against him joining if he wants, but it would feel weird.
@SleepingSilence

You can add nibble. JK, I will be updating everyone on what new moves they've gained from this encounter. When I post at least.
@Tangletail

At the moment I would like to keep the party as is. If for some reason anyone drops, I'll make sure to hit you up first.
@Tangletail

Hehe heh.
Appearance:

Name: Retsu Goroshi

Species: Human

Sex: Female

Faction: None

Occupation: Demon Hunter

Abilities: No magical abilities, but she has the knowledge and skill to create weapons capable of doing considerable harm to yokai and other supernatural creatures, though they're not notably more effective against humans or beasts.

History: Retsu was born the daughter of a blacksmith, assisting her father whenever she could as he had no sons or apprentices. He was no mere blacksmith however: he was a smith for the emperor himself. His most notably accomplishments involved a means of creating demon slaying weapons with entirely mundane materials. No need to hunt down other demons and use their parts, or to venture into treacherous territory to find a rare and limited resource. It was a secret that he only wanted to teach his son, but Retsu learned this technique by watching him. By the time she had a little brother, Retsu could create these demon slayer weapons herself.

However around this same time, Retsu's father was growing old. Too old to work, too old to teach his son how to create these weapons. He worried that this knowledge would never be passed on, not knowing that Retsu had already learned the technique. Out of desperation, he arranged to have Retsu married off so he could teach her husband these techniques and continue his legacy. But it was a trap; the man she was sent to marry was actually a demon is disguised. He wanted to kill Retsu's entire family to ensure that the mortals would never be able to stand up to demonkind. Retsu was able to survive, taking her little brother as her mother and father tried to distract the demon. They paid for it with their lives.

Alone, without a home or weapons, Retsu tried to flee towards a city to find help but she was harassed by the demon the entire time. During her escape her little brother ended up falling ill and died before she could reach the safety of a temple. With her entire family dead the flames of vengeance grew within Retsu. With the help of the temple monks who faked her death, Retsu was able to escape the demon who was hunting her down and returned to her home. Though ransacked and in ruins the forge still worked. The materials and tools were still there. So she forged herself a sword, cast bullets, and even created her own rifle and powder. She would hunt demons.

For the next few years Retsu hunted down all manner of demons and supernatural creatures, regardless if they were actually threatening anyone. She wanted to know where the demon who slew her family was. During her travels she discovered and nursed a dinosaur egg, which later hatched into a raptor. That raptor was Retsu's only family and companion in a long time, and she named him after her lost little brother: Ryo. Together they hunted down demons, even slain men who allied with them, all in pursuit of the one who slew her family.

With the death of the emperor Retsu has noticed a sharp rise in supernatural activity. No doubt desperate men would try to appeal to these supernatural powers for strength and guidance, offering everything they had for just a pittance. Retsu however wasn't going to let anyone benefit; she'd sooner see this world purged of all demons and monsters before she'd ever bow her head before them.
