There were still the merchants that were attacked by the mimics, and now you had names of the gang who has been vandalizing the shops. From what the fletcher girl, Kathie, told you, the gang seemed to live in the Red Cliff area. Buddy wrote a note for you to read. "Dead drop." As he points to a box next to you. It was hard to see, but on the top of it appeared to be the lightning bolt symbol that Yorik warned you about. Buddy traces it with his finger, allowing you to see it more clearly. Pylia looked at it. "A dead drop perhaps? Not sure why else they'd have one of their symbols hidden so subtly here."

Walking a bit of ways away, you eventually bring everyone to an alleyway where you can speak to the party in private. When you asked them they pondered and answered. "Well... The boy didn't seem too bright. I'm sure the only monster's he's ever heard of would've been generic beasts, such as dragons, goblins, and so forth. Many adventurers could live their life of adventure and retire having never fought something like a slaad." Shortfang shrugged as he did his best to advert his eyes from the sun. "Shortfang didn't know what Slaad was until friends tell Shortfang. Shortfang only know Trogs because they live in sewers." Buddy wrote his thoughts out on a note. "Dragons and Slaads both seem like reptilian creatures. It is a stretch, but there is some similarities. Some."

At the moment, three what I would say primary casters, though a few other characters have some caster classes, whether or not it's a focus I'm not sure. Just about everyone can do some sort of magic though.

So pretty much a scrying/spying area? Sounds cool. No one really has a role similar to that aside from maybe Mamoru, and she's less of an intelligence gatherer and more of a gossip monger.

Narberal is a level 63 character capable of casting Chain Dragon Lightning, which is apparently a 7th level spell. She has levels in Fighter (1), War Wizard (10), Elementalist: Air (10), Armored Mage (10), and 31 other miscellaneous classes, plus 1 Racial level in Doppelganger. As Irish said, it probably helps if you have levels in primary caster classes.

You can probs still do a necromancer thing, Mamoru's roll is most managing the day-to-day maintenance of the guild, and just so happens to use skeletal butlers for the job. She doesn't really have any skills focused around necromancy. At best she commands them if she needs them to do any particular task, but most are weak enough that even regular worlders could probs slay them. They are meant for free labor after all.

If you're lucky, they'll not do business with you. If they're clever, they will do business with you, and then report you to the guards. Sometimes they'll just skip straight to the latter. Flogging loot from an adventure is one thing, but most adventure shop buyers expect things like weapons, armor, and occasionally maybe valuable crafts and silverware. Come in with ten units of beaver hide and thirty units of ceder wood, and they're going to wonder what caravan just got hit.

“Of course. I can’t say I know much about Slaad stuff either, I just know it’s magical and wizards usually want it. It’s not unusual for me to do a custom job for a mage that involves a fancy pear or diamonds. In any case let me write you a receipt for the pearls.” The man leaves for a short while before coming back with a small pouch containing 100 gold, and a small parchment piece of paper with some documentation on it about paying 100 gold for a string of pearls. He has a small wooden board with a built in ink well and wood pen. “Just need you to sign this copy for my own records and then we’ll be done. Anything else I can help you with?”

It do what I do and base em off Pokémon moves. This way you’re not really locked to a class per say, at most you’re locked to a Pokémon, and then you just sorta figure out what moves would go to which class.

He seems to be gauging your strength and honesty. As he mentioned it’s not unusual for people to lie about their accomplishments and he seems skeptical that you all are really strong enough fight a slaad, let alone deal with his issues.

“Whaaah, sounds like... A dragon or something...” Soon the older man came back and handed you your items. “Well now... That’s a real Slaad Gem. I’d wager it’s worrh at least 500 gold coins on the market. These pearls are local, about 100 for the whole bunch. If you’re interested I can buy them off from you. It’ll be a good investment to help my shop get back to its feet.” The younger man stood up, wiping his hands on his apron. “Hey pa, they killed that slaad, it’s like a dragon or something.” The older man seemed to ignore his son. “That’s nice boy. Why don’t you go and take a break for now?”

The young man soon left to take his break while the older gentleman did his business with you. “So you all took down a slaad huh? Forgive me if I’m skeptical. Not unusual for folks to scour the countryside and pick up gems like these, gods knows there’s always some yellow belly drunk bragging about a tooth he pulled from a dragon or a talon he took from a troll. I mean... Suppose it ain’t really my business to know.”
