The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Emeth: Then I'll be that friend who's the opposite kind of annoying, whispering "Do it, you know you want to..."

Judging by the Internet's definitions of introversion and extraversion, you'd think everyone's either an extreme hermit or a party animal with no in between.

Bio
A frazzled British thirtysomething cat mum with something of a tea addiction.
I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.
As soon as Vivian said she'd be alright with it, Ella clicked open the Pokeball. There was a burst of light, and the purple snake appeared beside the green one.
Glancing around, he withdrew from the other Pokemon and hissed. "Hey, they won't hurt you," Ella soothed. With another look around, the Ekans uncoiled himself. "Ekanssssss..." This time, the hiss was softer as he noticed the Petilil and the Trubbish shying away from him.
"Uhhh... Maybe we shouldn't have them out just yet..." Ella said, watching Leisy return her own Ekans. Her grip on the Pokeball tightened, and she chewed at her lip. She hoped being inside the Pokeball wouldn't distress the Ekans further, but the plan to let the Pokemon socialise wasn't working out too well.
"I'll let you out later, ok?" She pressed the button, and a red beam of light pulled the Ekans back into the Pokeball. Being a trainer was much tougher than she'd thought. She hoped she'd be at least some help on this mission.
@Dusksong@Lugubrious I'd actually be willing to take on quite a bit of responsibility here. Personally, I find opening posts useful, but it depends what everyone else wants. A doc would also work.
There's always the option of updating our character sheets with trainer points, but that might be too much hassle to do every time we post, and we need to keep track of things like CPs too.
"Ok. And thanks for the cash," Cici said, her warm smile masking how bad she felt about relying on Tommy. The previous day's conversation with Sarah replayed through her mind. Three days and she was already nearly out of money. Was her former friend on the right path after all, leaving her on one that would lead her nowhere?
Something soft bounced against her leg, distracting her from her worries. "Iggly!" the newly-caught baby Pokemon squealed as she bounced uncontrollably off chairs and tables. The Kricketot waddled over to try to catch her, only to be bowled over, making her usual xylophone sound as she fell.
"Ligeia! Cadence! Are you ok?" Cici jumped up to check on both her new Pokemon. They were thankfully alright, just a little shaken. "C'mon, all of you, return." Once she'd returned all four of her Pokemon, who had just finished breakfast, she glanced around. A few people glared in her direction.
"Ehh, sorry about that," she said, taking a step back. At least Ligeia hadn't knocked anyone's food or belongings over. She turned back to Tommy. "Yeah... Maybe we really should make a move."
After she and Tommy had headed in their separate directions, Cici sat down by a patch of flowers near the Pokemart, took out her guitar and started strumming a gentle tune. She hoped her music would not only please the passers-by, but soothe her own nagging thoughts.
"Yeah. I hope Treasure's going to be ok doing this..." Ella said, glancing at the Pokeball containing her first Pokemon. "Come on out." Pressing the button on the Pokeball, she let out her Trubbish. At the sight of Leisy's Ekans, Treasure backed away, but when it became clear that the snake meant her no more harm, she visibly let herself relax.
"Hey, hey, it's ok," Ella reassured Treasure. Picking up another Pokeball, she looked at it with uncertainty before shifting her gaze to Vivian. "Uh, you going to be alright if he's out too?" she asked. After what had happened earlier, she didn't want to make Vivian uncomfortable. Especially not at a time like this.
Likes: Well thought-out story, interesting characters. It makes me want to read more to find out exactly what's causing these events. I also like the way you have Pokemon do more than just battle, and you explore their lives.
Dislikes: Not so sure about the use of the present tense, though that's quite a minor thing. And yeah, it did begin a little too slowly for my liking, maybe the two chapters that set things up could have been shortened and merged into one.
