"I'd say after we've battled a few trainers, it'd be a good time to try the gym," Amber replied, returning all her Pokemon before following Nyxx into the mart. After a quick look around at the available stock, she bought three potions.

"From what I've heard, Normal types are popular here," she continued, "but they're one of the more versatile types. They have all sorts of ways to compensate for weaknesses."

With two Rock types, she'd have to watch out for Fighting type moves, and hope none of the trainers she battled had a Deerling. It would probably be a good idea for her to hold off the gym battle until she had at least one other type.

When the boy expressed a desire to train for battles rather than contests, Solanna hesitated. She could see herself in him. Or rather, she could see the confident beginner trainer she'd once been. And that was the problem.

"Ok!" she said, putting on a bright smile as she walked with him to the outer edge of the town, Whimsicott in her arms. She wouldn't let her own issues stop her helping another trainer. She wouldn't...

"What moves do they have? There are many ways moves can be combined." After taking a look around for any wild Pokemon, she turned back to the boy. "Ah! Please excuse me. I didn't get your name," she said. "I'm Solanna."

@fer1323 You might want to make sure he has all the moves you want him to have, unless you're planning on giving him a few TMs later. Then again, if he evolves before he reaches lv34, he'll get Extreme Speed.

And ohh, go on. Considering Nyxx now has a Jolteon, you can evolve your Eevee into Leafeon when we get to Vareena. Just try not to have too many evolved Pokemon early on.

Ella couldn't help but back away slightly as Olivie glared and stormed off. "Ehhh... Leisy, don't listen to her," she said. Even though she didn't want to seem like she cared what the bruiser thought, there was something intimidating about her. The patchwork-clothed girl bit her lip, listening to the shopkeeper's wife, considering her comment. Was Olivie, like Ella's sisters, under pressure to live up to some kind of ideal?

She brightened up as the red-haired woman handed her the jar of gunk to borrow. "Ohh! Thanks!" she said, putting the jar in her bag. "And, uhh... I could try! But, umm..." She highly doubted she could beat Olivie in a fight. "Anyway! We'll be right on it!" With a forced smile, she said goodbye to the shopkeepers and followed Leisy.

"The beach might be our best bet," she said, eyes scanning the town spread out below the wooden ramp. "I mean, I had a nightmare involving the sea..." She paused. "That's weird! I remember cold salt water, but nothing else." Shivering, she took another glance at their surroundings. "Let's try those caves by the sea. Then again, if a Pokemon's giving people these dreams, it could be trying to mislead them... We could follow the river upwards if we don't find anything."

Descending into the town, she thought over Leisy's other question. "Maybe, but... Let's not blame the ghosts just yet. After all, I read that a legendary Ghost type here gives people good dreams."

She shuddered again. If these Pokemon could undermine the efforts of a legendary, just how powerful were they?

@Heckno12 Yeah, I don't like catching too many at once either, but I guess a full team over several days is pretty evenly paced.

I remember that Showdown conversation we had when you said that in Sun and Moon, it's possible to get Espeon and Umbreon in the wild, so it could also apply to this RP. Where would Sophia be able to find an Espeon? Quite a bit later on, of course.

(I know she could always just get an Eevee, but there are a lot of those at the moment, even now one's evolved. Things could get confusing.)
