Current To those I RP with, I haven't dropped off of the face of the earth, just had a mental health crash but am recovering. Now to catch up on posting.

The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Judging by the Internet's definitions of introversion and extraversion, you'd think everyone's either an extreme hermit or a party animal with no in between.

Bio

A frazzled British thirtysomething cat mum with something of a tea addiction.

I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.

@OtomostheCrazy Alexis is never going to let Sophia live this down, is she?
@OtomostheCrazy The gym battle will be posted up soon (possibly today). Is the next challenger going to be Alexis?

Outskirts of Mesalon

@fer1323

"Go for it!" Solanna encouraged. "Seems like it'll be good friends with the rest of your team!" The Ralts hadn't responded in any visible or audible way to Oscar's question, but this species of Pokemon had some ability to transfer emotions to others - was that what the Ralts was doing?

Thoughts of setting out, catching new Pokemon, as a beginner trainer crept back into her mind. Solanna forced herself to think of contests. She didn't want to upset this Ralts again, or scare it away before Oscar had a chance to catch it.

Solanna couldn't help but grin. "It looks pretty young," she whispered. "At least it's getting along well with the others." Whimsicott hopped down and joined the little group.

Watching the group of Pokemon reminded Solanna of her early days as a trainer. She'd been so hopeful, so determined to rise higher and higher, get into that tournament and win... The memories brought a pang of bitterness.

The Ralts instantly backed away. "Hey! It's ok," Solanna reassured it, giving an awkward smile. She had to think of something more cheerful, quickly... The upcoming contest. Her plans for future shows. As she turned her mind to happier thoughts, the Ralts relaxed.

Amber Pine

Mesalon Pokemart

@Noxx

Amber continued to browse along with Nyxx, who had perked up considerably from the shopping. For a second, she wondered how the other trainer could afford all those items, but the answer came to her. Being a celebrity's daughter had its advantages.

She listened to Nyxx's comment on the area's type variety. "Well, from what I read, some Fighting types are drawn to the peace and quiet of Mesalon," she replied. "It lets them fully focus while training. Same with Psychic types. I'll be surprised if we don't see any Meditites around here."

Her attention settled on some unconventional Pokeballs, dark green with lighter spots, red bands around the middle. "Dusk Ball?" she said, reading the note by them. "Those should be useful in the caves, or to catch nocturnal Pokemon."

After purchasing two of them, she turned to Nyxx. "Ready to find somewhere to train?"
@fer1323 They're rivals, so we should show that more. And yeah, after that disastrous gym battle, Sophia would want to train.

How's the Ralts going to react, or will I have to wait?
@fer1323 Oh yeah. Especially as she wants a Ralts.

At this point, though, she's such a mess of negative emotion that I don't think a Ralts would even approach her... She'll have to build up some genuine confidence before she gets one.

Should Oscar and Sophia have a double battle once they have four Pokemon each, so they can both practice move combos?
@Lugubrious Yeah, there wasn't really anything more our characters could have done. Later, though, they'll be more able to help with the mission. Ella may have her self-doubts, but she's not one to give up completely.
@fer1323 Yeah, the post's fine, and I'll have enough stuff to work with :)
@fer1323 Yeah, I won't be online much today, but might be able to get in a reply later (and if not, then tomorrow).

Location: Stillwater

@Dusksong @Lugubrious

With shaking legs, Ella stood up. Leisy was right. There was nothing either of them could do to help. Giving one more helpless glance towards the other two trainers, Ella pulled back with Leisy. "I'm sorry..." she choked out through her tight throat and dry mouth.

Why had she and Leisy gone looking for the culprit right away, without doing anything to prepare beforehand? Why hadn't she suggested a training session first, or asked around for more information? It seemed like such an obvious thing to do now that it was too late. As it was, all they'd managed to do was drag two other unprepared trainers into the creature's path, and get several Pokemon badly hurt.

First she'd let down Vivian, and now the residents of Stillwater... So much for helping people. Maybe she should have listened to her mother after all, and stuck with her cleaning job.

The only thing she and Leisy could do now was fix as much of the damage as possible. "We've got to get to the Pokemon centre!" she said, heading in the direction of the building. If the Malamar had done that to a Tentacruel, what had it done to the Inkay, to the Sewaddle, to Brighteye?
