Current To those I RP with, I haven't dropped off of the face of the earth, just had a mental health crash but am recovering. Now to catch up on posting.

The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Judging by the Internet's definitions of introversion and extraversion, you'd think everyone's either an extreme hermit or a party animal with no in between.

Bio

A frazzled British thirtysomething cat mum with something of a tea addiction.

I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.

@OtomostheCrazy, you mentioned TMs, so @Heckno12, are there any ways to get them besides winning the gym battle? I mean Sophia got the Reflect one, but it doesn't really feel right that I'm the only one who got a TM that way. Would anyone else give out one for any reason?

Also, whose turn is it to post?

Once Leisy had returned her Fletchinder, the pale yellow fly crawled out from the shrubbery and fluttered into the air. "Let's get to the Pokemon centre first," Florence said softly as the Cutiefly settled on Vernie's leaf. "Then let's get you home."

Turning back to Leisy, Florence paused before answering the question, her face solemn. "Well..." There wasn't an easy way to say it. "Last night... There was some trouble. As in, an attempted theft." Seeing Ella's eyes grow wide with shock, she quickly continued. "No Pokemon were actually stolen. But this Cutiefly... She and two others panicked, and got lost."

Despite the reassurance, Ella kept her aghast stare. "Thieves? Again? That's twice in less than a week!" she blurted.

Florence frowned. The situation was rapidly looking even worse than she'd thought. "There was another incident?"

The patchwork-clothed girl gave a grim nod. "It's getting dealt with, though," she reassured her as the group entered the lobby. The nurse, much less busy than she'd been earlier, quickly greeted Florence, asking how her first day had gone as Ella handed over three Pokeballs.

"It's, uh... well..." Florence visibly winced. "It's been... how do I put it... eventful. But all in all, I guess it could be worse."

She leaned down and checked over the Cutiefly. Although shaken, the bug bore no injuries. That was one of the Cutieflies found, but the others were still out there somewhere, possibly faced with all manner of dangers.

Waiting for her Pokemon to be healed, Ella chewed at her nails. It was getting dealt with, she'd said. Yes, it was, or rather it was supposed to be getting dealt with - by her and Leisy. She'd deliberately left that part out. She didn't want to unnecessarily worry anyone, or make them think they had to get involved. Florence seemed like the kind of person she was likely to do both to.

The moment the nurse gave her back the Pokeballs, Ella thanked her and jabbed at one of the buttons. "Jumbles! I was so worried! You're alright now?" The Inkay bobbed with a happy squeak. Florence approached and gently removed the bandage, revealing, to Ella's relief, that the wound was gone.

"Well," the pink-haired girl said, returning Jumbles just in case there were more Zubats or any hostile Bug types outside, and looking down at the Cutiefly, "we'd better make sure you get home safely."

The fatigue that had weighed down her mind and body earlier was starting to return, though. Already, the window showed a brightening sky, and trying to power through the aftereffects of Darkrai's curse had taken its toll on the trainer.

@Dusksong Thanks, I hope the angsting isn't too tiring to read though xD She needs to develop self-confidence instead of just faking it.

I'll reply ASAP, just mentally exhausted right now from working on a portfolio for an art course, and preparing for an upcoming job interview. The post will probably be up tomorrow.
@Dusksong Argh, sorry I made you feel like that! I wasn't implying that, it's just part of Ella's characterisation. She tends to both admire and envy people, and when she looks up to someone/ compares herself to them, she doesn't really see their faults. It's the "compare and despair" mentality.
@fer1323 It's ok. Wow, we're all busy... Though focusing on drawing more means I'll be able to learn new techniques for your pic requests.

Sophia felt her muscles tighten, making her bruises flare up. Well, at least Rheese's expectations weren't too high, but this was going too far in the other direction.

"So..." Her pointed glare shifted from one trainer to the other. "So you both think I'm weak? Seriously? You think that's all it's going to take to drain me?" Huffing, she scowled at both of them. This wasn't how Rheese had viewed her before. That was the problem, though. She could earn a few wows and gasps at first, but people were bound to learn about her limits sooner or later.

The more she thought about it, the less hungry she felt - and the constant, nagging worry that Hammer could still be around didn't help. She picked at her food, forcing herself to eat the last few mouthfuls. She had to be good for more than just party tricks. And she had to be able to help this group. She couldn't deny that, in a way, she was growing closer to them.

"In any case," she continued, trying with limited success to keep her tone calmer than before. Already, she was less than proud that she'd snapped at Rheese. She and Oscar bickered all the time, but Rheese was someone she got along with reasonably well. "Let's just make sure we don't waste any time getting there."

Amber's eyes widened at the sight of the plate-covered Pokemon. "That's an Armaldo, isn't it?" she asked. "I've seen a few Anoriths in my mom's lab, but this is the first time I've seen an Armaldo!"

Kyra sniffed at the much larger Pokemon, before yapping and wagging her tail. She bounced around, her way of saying she wanted to play.

As Rachel mentioned yesterday's event, Amber's face grew solemn again. She put away her laptop. The email still weighed on her mind, but it was time to put her own issues aside for now. "Well, there was a battle here yesterday," she answered. "Right here in the lobby, between a psychic and this brutish detective guy. I didn't see what happened before the fight broke out, but it seemed the detective had been causing trouble. Threatening people."

She remembered with a shudder what Ray had said to Rheese afterwards. About how, in a situation like that with nobody around to intervene, he could die.

@Heckno12 Ugh, sorry, busy right now. I applied for an art course and am preparing a portfolio. Will most likely have a reply up tomorrow, though. In the meantime, @fer1323, don't feel you have to wait.

Florence returned Leisy's smile, her gaze flicking towards the ground for a moment as she thought of a less than charitable comment from a girl she'd known at school. Apparently, she always looked like she was in pain when she smiled.

"I'm Florence," she replied. "And yeah... That was lucky." She paused, grimacing. Had that sounded insensitive? "Uhh, not for you, though, of course! Sorry! I mean, it's good your Pokemon evolved and all, but..." Chewing at her lip, she trailed off, only to speak again when Leisy asked about her Pokemon.

"She's a Chikorita," Florence answered. "Her name's Vernie."

The Chikorita approached Leisy, peering up at the bird perched on her shoulder. Flying types could mean trouble for Grass types, and the colour of its plumage also suggested Fire, but Florence and this Pokemon's trainer trusted each other, so the bird was unlikely to be a threat. "Chiko!" she squeaked, trotting alongside the three girls. Glancing from the Fletchinder to Florence, she noticed her trainer's furrowed brows and clenched hands. "Chiko-chi?"

"Ehh... It's nothing," Florence murmured. "Just... Sorry I nearly got you hurt." She looked away, deep in thought. She really should have caught some more Pokemon before setting out to find the Cutieflies. There were many nocturnal predators out there the little bugs could be at the mercy of - Zubats, Hoothoots, Spinaraks - all of which had an advantage over Grass types.

She couldn't do this alone, but she couldn't just drag these two trainers in either. Especially not after one of their Pokemon had been hurt like that.

"Ita!" The squeak snapped her from her worries. She looked down to see Vernie staring at something in the shrubbery near the Pokemon centre.

From her hiding place, the tiny Pokemon watched for any approaching threats. None. No Zubats. Something shone in the corner of her vision - the auras of humans, drawing closer. She scuttled further into the bushes, then stopped. There was the Chikorita who'd protected her earlier, standing by the feet of the girl who'd meant to take her home. The bug edged forward... and froze. On the shoulder of one of the girls was a bird. A large bird.

"There you are!" Slowly approaching the frightened Cutiefly, Florence bent down. "Come on, it's safe now. They've gone." The bug, though, stepped back, her eyes on Leisy's Fletchinder.

"And I'm Ella," the pink-haired girl said after Leisy had introduced herself. She smiled down at the Chikorita. "Hey, Vernie." She'd seen quite a few trainers with Chikoritas - a popular species in Feyhollow for their cuteness and generally friendly, non-aggressive temperaments.

"Huh?" Something had caught Vernie's attention. Looking in the same direction, Ella spotted a tiny yellow fly huddled in the bushes. A Cutiefly, which a relieved Florence tried to coax out. "Is your Cutiefly ok?" Ella asked. Florence had mentioned only having one Pokemon, but she must have meant she only had one with her at the moment. No wonder she'd remained so anxious.

The brunette turned her head. "She's not mine," she explained. "She's someone else's, and she got lost. I was going to take her back to her home, but then, uh, well... That happened." As Florence spoke, Vernie took over attempting to soothe the Cutiefly, gently waving her leaf and filling the air with a relaxing herbal scent.

The Cutiefly took a few paces forward, but kept her gaze fixed on Bidein. "It's ok, little girl, he won't harm you," Ella reassured the bug. "He's well trained." Just like all of Leisy's Pokemon, who had no trouble being out at the same time, or helping in a crisis. She was truly an example to follow - but how could someone follow a person they couldn't catch up with?

@Balthazar007 So, if we've got evolution shards in marts, can we replace them with other items?
@Heckno12 If you're waiting for Fer to post before you reply with Rheese, I don't mind if you reply with just Rachel, then do another post with Rheese later.
