The trio walked towards the school. Since Marina and Xaizor lived near at one of Spring Zone's borders, going to school would take some time, especially with the rain.


Sayaka: So you two are transfer students?

Xaizor: Yep. We arrived here two days ago.

Sayaka: How nice. It's sad that our town has no conditions to offer you a good welcome...

Marina: We have been managing ourselves for now. I do not know how the next days will be, though.

Xaizor: I'm sure it'll be just fine. It'll take more than thugs to actually shake me off!

Sayaka: If only thugs were the problem...

Marina: Do you mean the terrorist attack? What exactly happened?

BGM: Discolor (Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru)


Sayaka: It was horrible... I don't know why, but they suddenly appeared and started to attack the town and kidnap people...

Xaizor: Like... for no reason whatsoever?

Sayaka: I don't know. They were going against so many people, including... myself.

Marina: Oh no... it must have been horrible...

Xaizor: It explains why you freaked out earlier and why you're actually scared of walking alone.

Sayaka: They came out of nowhere and started to drag me with them. I tried to fight back but one of them took out a knife and tried to stab me. I screamed and called for help...

Marina: But the police came and saved you, right?

Sayaka: If I depended on the police, I wasn't here anymore. But someone else saved me.

Xaizor: And who it was?

Sayaka: It was Auror, brother of a dear friend of mine.

Marina: Auror saved you?

Sayaka: I couldn't see much of the fight because I passed out, but I'm sure I saw Auror fighting against them. When he arrived, I finally felt a little of relief. He was a true hero for me. I want to thank him so much for what he did to me...

Xaizor: (He seems so aloof with life, I wouldn't even think he'd be saving someone like this...)

While they walked, eventually Rayla and Mana reached their sight. Xaizor and Marina were the first to talk with her.


Marina: Oh, Miss Rayla! Good morning!

Xaizor: Yo, how's it going?

Auror: Got it. Oh, and about the "see you later" part...

Soon, the car stopped moving. Auror opened his window, looked at Ted and Andorina and waved while smiling.


Auror: I can see you two from my window. What gives? *turns the call off*

Veronica: And here we are! Now, for another exciting day of school!

They started boarding off while opening umbrellas. Auror shared his with Veronica while Kaito and Lucent had a single umbrella for each.

After they were settled inside the car, it departed from the orphanage and began heading to school.


Veronica: I'd actually love to come by and fetch everyone so we can always go to school together, but I guess I'd be overstepping the boundaries, wouldn't I?

Kaito: It's kinda weird, to be honest. It's not like I'm complaining or I'm against it, but it'd become rather strange for this to keep on a daily basis.

Veronica: Aww... well, at least we can have lunch together!

Kaito: You really like to keep everyone around, don't you Veronica?

Veronica: I do, yes sir! After all, the more friends you have, the funnier things are! That's why I try to be friendly with everyone.

Lucent: That... seems rather nice.

Kaito: Sure does. Goes to show why Vivi's so popular on school. She's like those team mascots.

Veronica: A mascot... hehe, I don't mind being one!

Lucent: Hehe... I would like a plushie of Veronica... it looks rather cute...

Without any intentions, Lucent complimented Veronica. Once he noticed his comment, however, he blushed and looked down immediately to hide his face.


Lucent: *blushes* Ah, I said... something embarassing...

Veronica: Mister Lucent, you called me cute... but you're rather cute yourself! I wanna hug you!

Lucent: W-Wait, I'm...!!

Kaito: Calm down. His heart's not ready yet. But it'll be soon, I'm sure of it! *pets Lucent's head*

Lucent: S-Stop petting me like a dog...

Veronica: That's not fair! I want to pet him too!

While they were being noisy on their own, Auror kept talking with Ted on the phone.


Auror: Oh, you sound awake on the morning for a change! Good to know!

Auror: Anyway, are you at your house? We can pick you up so the rain won't soak you entirely.

Location: Spring Zone Streets

Xaizor and Marina kept walking, shielded by the bubble so the rain wouldn't soak them. As they kept walking, they eventually barged upon a girl.


???: Ah, forgive me!

Marina: No, forgive us. We were not looking towards our way.

???: I... I see. Well then, if you excuse me...

Xaizor: Hey, hold up a moment!

Xaizor tried to stop the girl by holding her wrist, but she gave him a shriek once she felt him touching her.


???: Eeeeek!!

Xaizor: Whoa, whoa, settle down, please! I just wanted to ask if you're going towards the school!

???: P-Please, don't touch me!

Marina: Xaizor, stop it! She is not someone you can just pull!

Xaizor: OK, OK, I got it. Sorry, miss.

???: *breathes* I-It's fine... I'm fine...

Marina: I am deeply sorry for this. Is there something we can do for you so this can be forgiven?

Upon hearing her request, the girl thought about it and decided to offer if she could go with them.


???: You... asked me if I was going to school, right?
Xaizor: I did. What about it?

???: I'm going... to school and I'm terrified to walk by myself. Can you two make company for me?

Xaizor: Sure! I was going to suggest that anyway.

???: Thank you. Sorry if I bothered you both.

Marina: No, there is no problem. It is the least we can do to compensate my brother's rudeness.

Xaizor: Ugh, I already said I'm sorry, OK? Sheesh...

???: It's okay. Sorry for the scream. And my name is Sayaka, by the way.

Xaizor: Sayaka, huh... I'm Xaizor and this is Marina. I'm a third year and she's a first year.

Sayaka: Really? What class are you in, Marina?

Marina: I am on 1-A.

Sayaka: Oh my, am I lucky. I have actually found a classmate.

Marina: Is that so? How nice to know. I hope we can be good friends, Miss Sayaka.

Marina, Xaizor and Sayaka went to school together. Both brothers haven't spoke a word about it, but they were curious about why Sayaka was being paranoid and fearful. It was a different fear from Marina's, something induced by a horrible experience. Maybe their classmates could explain about it more.

"I suppose so. I'm coming.", he said. After picking his bags, Agni went inside the minibus. Although they have been talking for a while, he preferred to leave Aaron to the scenery and to the music he was listening. Agni chose to sit in the last rows, picking the window as well.

He took a book out of his bag and began to read it. For some reason, it was a horror mystery genre book, the one he "liked" the most, even though the concept of liking is related to emotional aspects. He always favored a crushing mystery where the protagonist is with his life at risk then an adventure with a cliché happy ending or a romantic comedy where it's obvious that the couple would stay together, marry and possibly have kids.

After eating breakfast with Kiragi, both Lucent and Kaito grabbed their bagpacks and left for the entrance. Once they reached it, a limousine awaited there for them. As the door opened, Auror and Veronica were revealed.


Auror: Yo. How's the rain been treating you?

Lucent: Auror and Veronica...?

Auror: We thought about giving you guys a ride, that's why we're here. Anyway, get in and let's wait for Rayla, Tiane, Reeta and Maki to come.

Kaito: Well, you can erase two from the list. Rayla hasn't returned since yesterday and Maki... well, she already went off early.

Veronica: Miss Rayla hasn't come back?! Oh no, this isn't good!

Auror: Calm down, this is Rayla we're talking about. Nothing bad must have happened. Besides, if something troublesome did happen, she wouldn't just let herself go down that easily.

Veronica: But even if that's true, we shouldn't abandon her like this!

Kaito: I'd like to search for her too, but it's best if we hope for her to return for now. There's nothing much we can do in this situation.

Lucent: (Rayla... I have yet to thank you for what you said yesterday...)

Auror: Come on in, let's wait for the rest.

Taking his invitation, Lucent and Kaito went in the car while they awaited the others to arrive. In the meanwhile, Auror did a call.


Auror: (Alright Ted, don't sleep and pick the call. I'm trying to help you since Rayla isn't here today.)

Location: Fleeting Memories School - Entrance Gate

Lilina and Masaru arrived first at the gate, which was already open. They were very early but this is an exception made for rainy days.


Lilina: Gladly, the school has this exception of letting us enter earlier if it is raining.

Masaru: I'm glad as well. We would've soaked if this wasn't the case.

Lilina: True. I'm sure everyone is inside already-
Drake: Lilina!

Her fellow classmate ran towards her. He got some breath before looking at her once again.


Drake: Holy shit, it's you for reals! Where have you been all this time?!

Lilina: Drake? And yes, I was recovering from an... experience.

Drake: So you were targeted as well...

Lilina: I'm fine now, don't worry. I have already recovered a little, so it's alright.

Drake: That's good to hear. You don't know how Bloo has been bothering me because of you.

Masaru: You mean, that guy who tries to pick up all girls and is also cousin of Veronica and Auror?

Drake: Yup, that's the guy.

Masaru: *sigh* Isn't he worried about her well being...

Lilina: The only thing he's worried is about conquering me. He'll fail horribly, since I am not for giving my heart to a man yet.

Drake: That won't stop him. Seriously, he's something...

They walked towards the classrooms as they kept speaking about the casanova of the school.

"I see. So it's an downside of an Alternation. I'm sorry, I rose a false alarm for nothing. We're not getting killed on purpose then." He said. Looking at the direction Aaron was aiming, it was the girl who ate a lot, the girl who looked bored to death and the wasp. Possibly one of the Alterations had something to do with the *BANG*, but investigating wasn't the idea that came up. Rather, Agni felt as if Aaron was bored to talk with him.

"If I am bothering you with my coldness, just say it. If I am, I'll do what I can to not bother you. If you want to meet the others, I have... no problem with it, I guess." He said.

She watched the ten of them from the lake. This day was the one of their meeting. She decided to finally let signs of herself to see if they would come.


???: La... la-la-la... la-la-la...

Location: Glory Star Orphanage - Western Room Corridor

After going with Kaito at Kiragi's room, the boy happily greeted his two big brothers. With a smile they all walked together. As they were walking, however, Lucent saw something passing by them, feeling a powerful aura right next to him.


Lucent: !!!

He looked back as nothing was even there. However, he saw something. It was a shadow of a woman, passing by him, going in another direction. He could feel her calling him.


Kaito: Lucent, what's wrong?

Lucent: N-No, I just thought... I saw something...

Kiragi: Big Bro Lucent, are you OK?

Lucent: I am, I am, don't worry. Let's go, we'll have breakfast soon enough.

They continued on their way, going towards the dining hall. However, Lucent's thoughts swirled around what the mysterious shadow had spoken.


Lucent: ... Heed my voice...

Location: Spring Zone Streets

Inside the car, Veronica and Auror were usually chatting about something in the school. The car stopped since the red signal was on. As they stood there, Auror looked at the window and saw a black silhouette aiming at them.


Auror: Huh?!

However, once the car began to move again, the image disappeared. It was most certainly a woman. Auror gave his head a shake and blinked twice.


Veronica: Big Bro, what's wrong?

Auror: Nothing, it's just... I think I saw something... or someone.

Veronica: Is it familiar to us?

Auror: Not in the least. It was the shadow of a woman and... weirdly enough, it spoke to me.

Veronica: And what did it say?

Auror: Ones with the wish to defend this city...

In another place, Lilina and Masaru were walking towards the school together. Lilina was also a victim to this phenomenom. She saw a strange silhouette in the roof of a house. Once she blinked, the image vanished, not leaving a trace.


Masaru: Lilina? Is... something the matter?

Lilina: Masaru, am I wrong or did I just see a woman in the roof?

Masaru: A woman? But there's nothing there.

Lilina: I'm sure I saw a silhouette of a woman in that roof. It wasn't just that... I heard something as well...

Masaru: Something...?

Lilina: You, who lives in fear of losing what is precious to you...

Location: Spring Zone - Hakurei Shrine

Meanwhile, Xaizor and Marina were descending the stairway of the shrine. In the middle of the descent, an image appeared. It looked like a woman, perhaps? It was standing at the right edge of the cliff until it fell.


Marina: No!!

Xaizor: H-Hey, don't do it!!

However, once they reached the edge, nothing was there. It's as if no one was in that spot at the beginning.


Marina: Was that... an apparition from the dead?!

Xaizor: I don't know... but... what was that? Was it a woman? And it just said...

Marina: Time runs short for this town...

Xaizor: So please, heed my voice and come to me.

This didn't made any sense. Before anything, they needed to go to school. They kept descending the stairs, as the voice haunted not only the two brothers, but the other chosen as well.

Location: Spring Zone - Hakurei Shrine

As the rain droplets fell, Xaizor and Marina had just finished their breakfast. They went to pick up their things and soon Xaizor raised a question.


Xaizor: Hey... I was wondering something. Why do you think Dad sent us here?

Marina: I have little to no idea, similarly to you.

Xaizor: Rayla told us about those monsters that attacked town. Do you think that maybe Dad wants to redeem himself through us?

Marina: I think this is not the case. Father has abandoned this life of travelling between worlds for a long time, remember? His first and utmost priority is the people of Lacrima.

Xaizor: That being our priority too, right? Even if we're here to help this world, we need to get stronger to aid ours even more. We need to be prepared.

Marina: Xaizor...

Xaizor: That being said... I remembered that we don't have umbrellas at all.

Marina: Um, hello? I can cast a bubble to shield us, you know.

Xaizor: Oh right! Then cast it already.

Marina: It would not hurt for you to say "please", would it?

Xaizor: What you said.

Marina stepped once again on Xaizor's foot, pressing her foot the most that she could.


Xaizor: OWWW!!

Marina: Stop talking, you rude caveman! Let us go, we are going to get late!

Location: Glory Star Orphanage - Living Room

Kaito finally woke up and went towards Lucent, who was waiting on the living room while reading a book, a little down. He sat next to him as Lucent stopped reading a book for the moment.


Kaito: Woke up with your left foot today?

Lucent: It's just... I saw Tatianna and I... couldn't bring myself to say "good morning" to her. When I tried to go at her, my feet trembled and I couldn't move.

Kaito: You're still scared of her, right?

Lucent: H-How wouldn't I be? She's not known for having a good temper. What if I suddenly make her angry out of nowhere?

Kaito: I doubt she would get pissed because you greeted her. In fact, I think she would like it.

Lucent: I don't know... my body refuses to move and I get nervous... I mean, she's related to thugs and so I keep thinking that maybe she would...

Kaito: You're being a little biased about her.

Lucent: I know, I know but I can't help it. All this... thing about being friendly with others was something I wasn't expecting to happen, you know. I still have some conceits about some people...

Kaito: Lucent, listen. First of all, I want to apologize for forcing you into doing this. But right now, I want to help you the most. Remember what I told you? I'm here for you.

Lucent: Won't this make me a kid for depending on you and Reeta all the time?

Kaito: Look, I don't mind. I want you to depend on me.

Kaito gets up and stretches his arm a little before looking at Lucent again.


Kaito: Once she comes back, we'll talk to her together. Sound good?

Lucent: All right. I think I'd feel more comfortable then.

Lucent closes his book and gets up as well.


Lucent: (Hmm... maybe I should ask Lady Amara if I can borrow the kitchen this afternoon...)

Kaito: Hey, what are you thinking now?

Lucent: It's a secret. Anyway, let's go see if Kiragi's awake.

Kaito: You really got attached to Kiragi, didn't you?

Lucent: Kinda... I do see him as a little brother I never had before... since you're the older one.

Kaito: Haha. Shall I call you as "brother" then?

Lucent: No, that would be weird... c'mon, let's just go.

Lucent and Kaito went together towards Kiragi's room, in order to see if the boy was already up.

Auror Dias Intermezzo
Location: Intermezzo Mansion - Dining Room

As they finished eating, Veronica suddenly rose an idea.


Veronica: Can we pick everyone at their houses and go together to school, Daddy?!

Magnus: I don't see why not. Going with your friends is a nice idea and it'll at least let them evade the rain as well.

Auror: Hopefully the car will be big enough for everyone.

Veronica: I'm sure it will! Big Bro, let's go!

Auror: Hehe, OK! See you later, Dad!

Veronica: Bye bye, Daddy!!

After receiving their bagpacks from the butlers, Veronica and Auror went to the car. Soon, the engine's noise could be heard as the limousine departed from the mansion. Magnus looked at the window, worried about his son.


Magnus: (Veronica... please, I will need your aid. We need to save your brother from himself...)

Location: Alegretto Residence - Lilina's Room

Inside her room, she opened the curtains of her window only to see the rain fall down.


???: Oh my, it's raining... I wasn't expecting rain to fall so soon...
Masaru's Voice: Lilina? Are you ready yet?

Lilina: Yes, Masaru. You can come in.

He gently opened the door, as Lilina received him with a smile.


Masaru: Sorry if I bothered you.

Lilina: No, no, I'm not bothered. Please, don't worry.

Masaru: OK. Also, thanks for letting me reside with you and your family.

Lilina: It's no problem. Mother likes you as well, so she'd always welcome you.

Masaru: This... I'm just doing this for my mission. Once it's complete, I'll take my leave, OK?

Lilina: If you say so. By the by, what is this mission of yours? Does it involve Lucent Vermillion, the caped loner of class 2-C?

Masaru: H-How do you know that?!

Lilina: Perhaps I heard you talking yesterday on your room about him to someone else. Your tone was loud, by the way.

Lilina: Don't worry, I'll keep quiet about it. Well then, shall we go to school?

Lilina and Masaru picked their umbrellas and left the house, heading to school.

Lilina: (I've been putting a strong front, but I do wonder... will there be a day for us to no longer fear life? Or should we consider ourselves as aberrations, destined to be chased by... God knows who?)

Weather: Rainy Day

Location: Glory Star Orphanage

BGM: Heartbeat, Heartbreak -Rainy Mood- (Persona 4)

Lucent, for a first time, woke up early. As he stretched, he heard the rain falling outside. Putting his cape, he decided to actually see how things are going on with the rain.


Lucent: It's not terribly strong, but I guess it's manageable.

He looks around and sees that no one is up yet. People do say that rain makes someone sleep easily and profoundly, though he didn't know if that was true or not. Lucent was worried with someone, however...


Lucent: (I wonder if Rayla is OK... Tatianna said that she'd be actually seeing us at school today, but still... I couldn't even thank her for what she did.)

Lucent: (I guess I'm going to wait at the living room until someone else wakes up.)

Lucent walked towards the living room and sat in the sofa. He didn't want to bother Kaito or Reeta by waking them up, so he got a book and began reading until someone would come.

Location: Intermezzo Mansion

BGM: Beneath the Mask -Rainy Mood- (Persona 5)

Both woke up together as usual. After saying the usual greeting, Auror and Veronica walked down the corridor, talking about the rain.


Veronica: Ugh, I hate when it's raining! And just because today we had cheerleader practice too...

Auror: I'm not a fan of raining either. It's too... I don't know, it kinda messes all plans...

Veronica: We can't even lunch at the rooftop today! I don't wanna go to the cafeteria, it's always full on rainy days!

Auror: Hmm... maybe I can find a classroom that no one's using.

Veronica: Yay! I can't wait for us to find our secret spot in school!

As they reached the main hall, Magnus descended to say good morning to his kids.


Magnus: Good morning, my children.

Veronica: Good and pretty morning, Daddy! Although it's raining and I don't like it...

Auror: Good... morning.

Magnus: *sigh*

Auror: What?
Magnus: Nothing, Auror. Don't worry about it. Anyway, let's go eat.

Veronica: OK, Daddy! I'll head in first.

Veronica rushed towards the kitchen by herself. Magnus looked at Auror, who was slightly bored.


Magnus: Auror, I know you're still angry about the whole issue...

Auror: I don't want to talk about it. Let's... just eat. Like a family would do, I guess.

Magnus: ... Yes, let's eat, son.

Auror didn't say a word and went alongside his father towards the dining hall.

So his reason to be there was simply and only for fun. Like he said before, it was something he couldn't feel. If it was a normal person, they would feel envy. He couldn't. "I see. So you don't have a truly serious goal. Rather, you're doing this just for the experience..." Agni commented. He didn't know what to say anymore. He kept looking around, trying to see if he could find someone of the school staff, when suddenly...

*BANG*

"What was that loud echo? Did someone used a gun and shot someone else?" He asked. Another thing to notify: thanks to his lack of emotions, Agni's completely blunt. If he has an opinion of someone he might say it, with the risk of being mean, even though he never wanted to. "So this station is housing a murderer... where's the staff? We might die here." Agni commented.
